Elemental Sparring (Closed)

Post by Barbannis »

((OoC: Continuing from here =3 ))

Ic:

Misty.

His paws snapped down into the mud freely, flicking his arm back to balance his fall as misted water sprinkled from the air, mud slapping on all sides, leaving the once nicely grassy field astray with thick oozing puddles of soil. The lemur creaked a grin as the ground shuddered to a close, leaving a mark in the earth, wondering for just a moment if he had knocke-

His orange eyes caught sight of Naira as she leapt free from his attack, orbs trying to catch anything marked, bruises, wounds, anything, but to his curiosity, they began to fade. At least thats what he could make of it. Toki's fur was matted now, spikes across his neck and shoulders, water dripping down his left eye making him close it with a shake of his head, grinning with a huff of breath as Naira made ground, mud and water spattered around them.

The air was thick with a moving mist of water, falling from all sides, fine droplets of cold and warm liquid, laced with the soil below them. He could feel every tendril, every marking touch as it brushed past his thickened fur coat. Toki glanced upwards a moment, twitching his small nose and looking back to his sparring partner, licking his nose free of the cold water. The ground below his paws was cold and sticky, thick with the residue of his attack, if he has not spent as much energy in creating it, this would have been the perfect starting ground for an attack, both earth and water combined, he found it most entertaining, most creative.

The walls around the battle ground had fallen apart, no longer able to sustain their strange form, but the mark in the mud was still clear of their little sparring ground. Though partly in his mind he could see it had gone a little further up from a simple sparring match. It was a game.

Toki wiped a smear of water from his face, tail twitching around his waist as he watched on once more, taking notice of her lowered stance, breathing, gasping in air. The lemur brought his arms up closer to his chest in a more defensive stance, tail tightening around his stomach once more. He could feel something on the air almost, something itching, building. He dared a glance to the side, eyes catching sight of his shield off in the small distance, a good run from where he stood. There was no time for a quick dash and defend, no.

The dark furred lemur ducked his head, pressing a knee into the muddy ground, a single paw pressing into the thick ooze, one arm guarding before his chest, the other remaining stationed into the ground, ready to throw up some sort of defense. Weakened as he might be, his only method was defense, but he had his doubts.

The pressure growing in her chest intensified. Naira actually found it extremely difficult to keep her torso upright. The woman had to kneel down, palms digging deep into the mud which squelched between long, dainty fingers tipped with claws. Her lungs felt about ready to explode, such was the sensation of hurting, burning pain growing within them. Somewhere beyond her was the lemur ... yet there was no movement. Nothing at all. Silence where a flurry of motions should have been. Had he fallen?

The Reaver ever imagined how much effort would have to be placed within the craning of her neck. Bright eyes shifted, focusing ... They found the elemental lemur striking a pose of defence against her. Naira had to grin back devilishly in response. She admired his courage, there was no doubt about that ... but did he really think he could hold this attack off?

Fire exploded inside her. Filling like a balloon close to popping, Naira could hold it no more. Both eyes narrowed, brows raised ... and jaw dropped open. Lungs erupted outwards yet no air touched the atmosphere without her body - no gust of air, no hot blast of carbon dioxide. But it did go somewhere ... A sphere formed itself between parted teeth. It started small - streamlined together by bands of wind that were small and weak. Then it grew. Larger and larger until it could no longer be contained within the mouth of a human, and it pushed forwards to just beyond her lips.

Still Naira's maw remained wide open. What escaped her lungs appeared endless. How could it go on for so long? Surely they weren't that large ... could not contain that much! But here it was happening right before their eyes. A living, breathing contradiction! Nemo's claws dug deep into the earth as the pressure needed to maintain the growing orbs size, shape, and power built up more and more. In no time at all it was already larger than her head ... and soon, as big as her body!

And then ... her chest was empty. There was no wind or breath escaping, though the orb maintained its own atmosphere ... kicking up the gentlest of breezes that nudged lockes of hair out of place and disturbed small fragments of debris on the ground. Despite the collapsed rock wall, despite the soggy terrain formed of mixed earth and water ... Naira remained firm in place. Not a muscle move. Even her heart remained, momentarily, still. There was a lengthy minute where all of time came to a halt. Not a bird in the sky nor squirrel on the ground dared to move. Though it appeared a crowd of these animals, amongst others, had formed at the Forest's edge to watch the gallivanting duo duel in the Wastes.

True danger came when Naira's gaze shifted just so ... Such a small change in poster, but her orbs' slitted pupils slimmed in such a manner ... then suddenly expanded ... !

Naira lowered the angle of her body on the ground so that her elbows bent at a ninety degree angle. From behind the swirling sphere of massive wind came a yell, birthed from what little oxygen resided in the caves of her chest.

FWOOOOOOOOOOM!

The sphere was going! It launched from her mouth - twirling, twisting, spinning - at such a speed at the magnitude of its passing ripped pellets of mud from below, pressing a concave deep within the slush! So fast and furious that it burst the sound barrier with a loud BANG! If Toki was going to stand there and take it ... withstand the Aeroblast ...

Charged.

Toki narrowed his gaze through the misty water falling, he took serious notice of her charging technique, there was something different about it in his eyes. The lemur's paws loosened a moment, letting one foot slide forward and taking a calm breath. There was a certain ferocity in his opponent that he enjoyed, the fact that they were not going on easy on each other only amplified his mood in the situation.

One ear flicked, the mist settling to the side, parting almost to the oncoming weapon-like attack. He could just sense outright the power that rushed into the air as soon as she let loose the orb, the sudden rise of mud, spattering left and right in his arcing wake. The lemur nodded to himself, ripping his hand up from the ground with a spatter of soil and dirt, the ground solidifying, hardening into a half sphere barrier.

His body shadowed behind going completely still, hand against the opposite side of the small barrier... not even his fur flicked in the wind.

CRACK!

His barrier broke with ease, rock and soil ripping open as the figure behind the small barrier disperced within the crashing wake and wave of Naira's Aeroblast. The ground thrummmed, throttling what stone remained into the air. The shadows that had been Toki disappeared within the combusted winds, no glimpse of his form as stone spread and dropped like astroids to the ground. Air snapped back in a long blast of energy, forcing a wave to fold back through the mud.

Toki slipped a hand to his forehead, twitching his ears back as the wind snapped past them. His feet stationed into the ground firm, standing not a meter from where Naira was. His fur was slick back, wind blown, his ears folded back against his skull but his motion seemed more calm then he looked. His body was frazzled with the motion of the attack, the end of his tail slightly crooked. He had not been in the direct path of her attack as it went off... simply leaving a stone figure of his shape in place... but the time it took to dart out of the way was an inch too long on his side, leaving a streamline look over his fur and a ringing in his ears.

He wiped the water brom his brow, stepping closer to Naira baring his tiny fangs in a quick grin,

"By all that is holy!" he coughed out, dripping in the cold mud of the battlefield, "Perhaps a little storming, slight chance of wind... but that is not what I expected".

He was impressed, and it was not often he could thing that. The small lemur slowly leant up from his crouched position, watching the aftermath of Naira's attack, only now noticing the movement closer to the forests edge, small creatures a like taking notice to their little duel offside the forests tree line.

Toki shook himself out, spattering water and mud across on all sides before outstretching his and and arm up to his advisory with a toothy grin still spread across his black lips.

Despite the rapture of noises following the blast that literally exploded from her mouth, Naira could hear nothing beyond the ringing in her ears. Rocks were crumbling in all directions as the wall surrounding the dueling duo continued to fall apart from every angle. Mud and stones thrown up from the Aerobeam's trajectory were finally slamming back down due to gravity. Water splashed in different directions as hard objects struck the surface of little puddles formed here and there ... Ploop! Ploop! PLOP!

The half-dragon remained crouched on the ground. She was breathing heavily, barely able to maintain a proper airflow to refill the deflated windbags in her chest. Every inhalation was met with raking agony on the surface of her lungs: a terrible ripping sensation, mixed with hotness that Naira could only guess was related to internal bleeding; blood pouring from newly opened wounds. Immense pressure around her sternum brought back a phantom sting where Rishcath's blade had pierced her body long, long ago.

"Ha ... ," she exhaled, vaguely aware of the crimson stream rolling from the corner of her mouth. It dribbled off her chin to join the water at her knees. "Ho ... gods ... "

There was a reason she never went about the Aerobeam except for the rarest, most dire situations. Naira had hoped that her body would be used to it by now. Evidently not. Straining her vision to watch the lemur, she matched his grin with one of her own through bloodstained teeth. Naira attempted to stand while using her tail to counterbalance her weak body. She made it forward a fw steps, outstretching her hand to shake the little beast's own paw - good duel, the gesture said - but a jolt of pain slipping from her lungs to her spine and down to the legs crippled her to the ground. The Reaver crossed her arms around her chest with a low, tiny groan. It all felt tender and she curled into a semi-fetal position to guard her torso, hair dangling downwards to skim the mud's surface.

"It'll ... pass ... ," Naira managed to whisper. It came with some surprise at how ... small her voice sounded. Toki probably didn't hear her unless his hearing was just that good. A flash of scarlet skirted across her eyes before everything went completely and utterly black. She fell forward with no grace, sinking into the mud while her head submerged into a puddle.

Damn narcolepsy ...

Raucous laughter erupted from the depths of her subconscious, pervading past the Reaver's perceived realm of sleep.

While the cat's away, the mouse will play!

No sooner his paw moved from her hand after the shake she faltered back from him. His ears twitched this way and that, taking in the rippling noises of mud and dirt still falling around them, a large bloom of falling water still misting and flailing through the cool air above. Toki pulled his hand back and curled his fingers, his smile loosening slightly as the tang of blood caught his nose, the sight of blood pooling lightly at the mud to his feet.

He too breathed heavy, chest heaving, small heart beating to his chest, though his final ability was merely copying himself into a stone barrier, it came to him quickly that this attack she had used was far more deadly then he had believed it. The Lemur pulled his vest tighter and took a step forward, his long matter tail twitching in the coll wind that breezed over.

There was worry that caught his gleaming orange eyes now, tilting his head to the side and watching as she curled up against her side, holding in the pain that she was obviously in. He was no healer, yes there were many uses of his water magics if he had learned.. but he knew not of what to do in this kind of situation,

"It'll... pass..."

The words were whispered, his ears twitching at the low pitch of sound echoed with the splashing collapse of the air around them still collecting from the blast, he was only able to make out the last part of her whisper.

Toki leaned in, dropping down to a knee as she finally collapsed due to her wounds, which to him seemed more internal then anything. He rose his hands up lightly, placing a paw to her shoulder and giving her form a slight shove, "Ey, Naira" he spoke up, eyes flicking lightly as his tail remained to the side.

He slowly rose back up, pressing both hands to her shoulder, digging his legs into the thick mud and sinking in a little himself before he managed to heave a push. Toki twisted, pressing his shoulder in against her arm and side, slowly and steadily pushing her head out of the sinking mud of the puddle she so graciously chose to 'sleep' in. The Lemur huffed lightly, only managing to push Naira to her side, still exhausted from the battle only moments ago being full on.

The lemur leant back from where he stood, hands and feet muddy, his fur matted with water, belts drenched in the same as he sat back, crossing his legs, back of his hands against his knees lightly, eyes watching for a moment.. Toki reached across and began to work at one of his vials, a clear crystal blue liquid glimmering within, cold to the touch. He tinkered with it for a moment, unknowing to what was going on within Naira's subconscious.

They were both a waste of air at the moment. Toki was just as exhausted as Naira - the only exception being he was still very coherent and aware of his surroundings. The Reaver, on the other hand? Well ... the random snore that bleated out while Toki turned her over certainly wasn't a battle cry. That noise was quickly followed by a fit of racking coughs. Never one did her eyes open. Never once did she stir from that perpetual coma. Her precious orb remained sealed as if glued that way. With every forceful eruption that exploded from her chest came a splatter of crimson that decorated her already dirty clothes and the torn ground.

The spasms came to an end rather abruptly and Naira's body went completely lax. Limbs hung limp at her sides. Her face twisted to rest its cheek on the soft earth. Very briefly did her expression mock disgust at the taste of her own blood that lolled atop her tongue. The skewered lips and crooked brow settled into indifference when sleep took hold a second time, coming in stronger than before. All the while Toki toiled with his water ... Was he working on healing properties, or doing something else? Naira didn't care. It wasn't like she was awake to see it.

But something else was peeking out from the depths of her mind that demanded curiosity be sated. In no time at all the pain she bore dwindled to nothing at all ... and not just because of her undead metabolism. Yes the lungs were healing nicely. But the nerves were deadening, blackening and becoming brittle, frail, old and dead. A stray beetle skurried up her face. It lingered briefly above her eye where it dug sharp pincers into her skin. Yet Naira twitched not once or at all. She remained motionless and inattentive.

But her mouth ...

The corners of her lips were twisting upwards. They parted slowly, putting an array of sharp teeth on display in a strangely luminous and eerily ominous grin that just didn't fit her in the slightest. It was very off-putting. Fingers twitched, the whole hand spasmed. Suddenly taut and white at the knuckles, they dug into the mud and clenched there ... like trying to get a grip on something solid. Naira's left palm loosened to wander. It searched, flopping aimlessly in the soaked and sodden terrain until it came upon the fuzz of Toki's tail ...

Her eyes suddenly shot open. They were uniform in color. Not one green, but both a hazy blue with the smallest pinpricks of gray marking where the pupil should have been beyond the death glaze. Lids peeled back all the way to fully display the white of her sclera. While Toki fidgeted with his vial, Naira's head rolled slowly until it was facing the lemur directly. Her gaze was wide, unblinking ... and dead. Coupled with that grin ... something terrifying lurked within. This became more and more evident as Naira rolled the lemur's tail within her grasp, gripping it painfully tight.

"Kitty," she rasped out in a voice that was higher than her own, before giving the tail a sharp yank intending to reel Toki in quickly towards open, gnashing jaws of very sharp teeth.

Toki's tail end flicked from one side to the other in the mud, the water still clinging to his thicker coat of fur, mud gently dripping down past one of his eye lids and curling around one of the large orbs. He sat perched on the ground before Naira, his posture calm and collect, mind set on the small vial within his hands. He had managed to release two of the vials, mixing them against one another, ice blue water cradling into something thicker and darker.

Within the mixing waters small droplets formed, bubbling to the top. The lemurs eyes flickered once, pressing a hand to the side of the glass vial, catching just in the corner of his eye movement... blood... He tightened his legs in his curled spot. She was in pain, somewhere deep in her dreams, he took notice of the movements, arid, strained. In his concentration he could just image himself collecting this water that pooled within the vial, cold, icy. The mountain tops were not his usual place of origin, he much preferred having his feet on the ground, wide open plains. But the lakes that rested in the far heights were something he enjoyed, something he could use. His mind drifted for moments, curling, creating the right mixture before him without even noticing what was going on just before him.

It was only when her hand crept to the curl of his tail end that he managed to look up from the single full vial of water, his gleaming eyes narrowing to the slight. First the eyes, they were different, colored in some layer of mist... pupils, well he could barely make notice as he caught her grin next.

Toki slowly curled his fingers around the edges of the small vial, his tail twitching once before 'Naira' turned, tightening her grip on his tail with words different, sinister creeping from those fangs like some nightmarish ghoul. The fur along his tail stuck up lightly against the water that covered his fur, there was a certain, uneasy, feeling he got from something gripping or using his tail as a lasso.

His legs faltered, unfolding as she suddenly yanked his tail with all intent of moving him towards that mouth!

His eyes flickered, hands pulling back and using what power he had left to pull the water free from the vial. He had only a moment to form the sphere of cold iced liquid, frozen lashes of ice floating within the pure blue formation. Toki throttled his hand forward, letting loose the small sphere blast of water at 'Naira's' face with words in all seriousness,

"Wake up!"

The water was ice cold and jarring. When it struck, Naira peeled backwards, losing her grip on the lemur's tail, with fingers spasming over her nose and eyes ... trailing over her mouth, filled with fangs. It was the briefest moment of realization for her. For just a second her lone green eye flashed its original color and sudden anxiety overcame the wild expression on her face.

"Damnitnotthisagain," she hissed quietly, words mashing together because of how quickly she was speaking. A frantic Naira looked at Toki and her eyebrows furrowed in seriousness. "Listen Toki, you gotta get me in the hea - "

She suddenly jerked to her feet, groaning in pain. The sliver of green that one conquered her sightful eye slipped back behind a pale blue glaze and she retained, once more, the appearance of something dead. But it didn't end there. Her skin was slowly taking on a reddish hue, flushing from the extreme heat gradually taking over her body's internal temperature. The dragon legs and tail? Bright crimson like that of arterial blood fresh with oxygenated cells. Her talons remained the same, but the claws on her hands ... They became thick, almost as large as carrots, consuming each finger up to the knuckle and taking on the color of nicotine-stained teeth. Hair that was once earth-toned became a bleached blond. In the end ... Naira was an entirely different person. nothing about her was the same except for maybe the height and the fact that she was part dragon, but everything else was a throwback to an alter ego who stood by her side a long, long time ago.

By this time the wounds she'd endured had healed nicely. Even the open rips of her lungs were fusing together, the last biologically stitches set in place by the time Naira's full-body makeover was complete. She exhumed a sigh and unleashed carbon dioxide steam. Toki was close enough to feel the insane heat radiating from her body. This ... this was not normal. not normal at all. It was almost like she'd become a fire element, minus the ability to spew flames. But it wasn't like Toki knew that.

Naira's deadened gaze looked down at the lemur and attempted to focus. She was just able to make out his shape and the blurred rainbow of his fur through squinted oculars. That grin settled once again over her face and the half-dragon leaned forward, extending her clawed fingers with a voice that echoed a child's in innocence. "C'mere kitty ... I'z hungreh!" Lunging with fingers outstretched, one couldn't be clear on whether she was actually trying to inflict harm upon the elemental lemur ... or if she was really just like a kid who rough houses with pets not realizing she's hurting them. Not like it mattered anyway. If Naira got what she was aiming for, Toki probably wouldn't be alive to contemplate it!

She made a grab for Toki's neck with one hand, and a swipe with the other.

There was something different about her first words, almost an outer calmness wrapping over her senses once more as Toki stepped back through the mud. Had the water done it? No. He watched on as her change became more apparent, her body and form almost took on a whole new shell, her internal side wrapping and voicing out something much more sinister.

The Lemur backpeddled once more, his tail slowly flicking once with a slap of water to the ground before gently wrapping back around his waist. His vest slightly glimmered with the small collection of vials, though not his full supply, he only had a couple left strapped in tight. He glanced to the side while she changed, fingers dripping with water, trying to image what he would do next. 'You gotta get me in the hea-' wrapped and coiled through his mind for a short while as he tightened his hands to small fists. Though she was cut off by the change, he could just pick up where her sentance was lingering towards.

Toki shook out his fur the moment her gaze finally met back with his, her jaws glimmering in that same dark grin, that same dead end look she gave him before.

He tightened his hand as she lunged, words of hunger flashing in his mind, "Have some mud!" he replied in sound, bending a knee and splashing mud up against one of her moving hands, his body turning and sliding between her legs, feeling the slice of her other hand sweeping across his chest with a flick of some loose fur. He didn't have the power to keep this up. Toki dove his hand into the mud and with a resounding CLANG! his shield snapped into the air a good distance away, its shining form swooping through the sky, higher then he expected.

Toki leapt up, feeling a slight numbness to his chest where she had scaved him moments before. He had no time to check it as he used her dragon tail to balance, climbing up across her back and wrapping his arms around her head, covering her eyes, his legs curling and tightening around her neck, "Guess who!" he spoke, tightening his grip.

A fling of mud slapped away the grabbing hand making its way towards Toki's throat, but the other appendage had hit home. Claws found their mark, ripping through dainty flesh, spilling just a little blood ... but not enough, and certainly not where she'd been intending to hit. Had the true target been clipped then, well, there'd be a lot more red spilling all over the place. Such a drastic miss - going from neck to chest - would have angered any other attacked into pounding more furiously at their victim. But Scarlet found herself enthralled. There'd already been a lingering stench of blood in the air from their previous battle. This fresh wound riled up some fresh hunger ... and as Toki slipped between her legs, the Reaver-gone-V-ACT 32 found herself salivating so profusely that it fell to the earth in torrents.

Her reaction time was quick. Toki was quicker. He was on her tail, then her back ... Soon his furred elbows bent around her eyes, hindering her si - oh wait, she couldn't see anyway! The little bit of light that graced her vision was blotted out, however. Even blurred figures couldn't be seen now. Not that she needed the power of her eyes. Scent was a wonderful thing. And taste ... soon enough! The lemur on her head was so close to her mouth! She attempted to gnash at the animal flesh nearest her jaws to no avail. Toki's legs tightened about her neck like a noose, limiting air supply. Scarlet gasped but felt no urgency beyond the thundering excitement blasting through her chest cavity.

"I like dis game!" she yelled, maw breaking into that venomous grin again. This certainly was not Naira anymore. Claws found Toki's legs and sank in. "Tag! You're it!"

She suddenly pitched her torso forward with such force that it should have sent the lemur flying if he wasn't holding on tight enough. Scarlet fell flat on her chest, striking the mud at such velocity that it splashed up all about them. The V-ACT 32 hybrid rolled this way and that with Toki as an unwilling passenger. This alone wouldn't have been lethal. But then she got nearer and nearer to jutting rocks and, when close enough, bent herself at the abdomen and slammed down again and again, thrashing her back against stone ...

Toki had trained in patience for some time before, to hold on even if unwilling or if the odds were pitted against him. His mind was calmer then it should have been, to see someone change to something they were not was very new to him. He had not seen his people happen upon this kind of change, or corruption as it were. Naira was one personality, but this... this was something else. His furred hands wrapped tight, legs curled around her throat, least he had expected was for her to jolt her entire body forward. He had thought claws would reach him, try and pluck him from her body... but instead he felt the cold splash of mud hit his face in the same as hers.

'Naira's body was loose against the ground, thrashing, jolting this way and that. He could feel the gash across his chest, the blood gently mixing against the back of her head. Moments passed as he concentrated, but with each time he was pummeled into the ground with her, he noticed the closer the rocks came.

He blinked, baring his tiny fangs before looking up as she pummeled her body into the ground, watching the glint of his shield as it clambered into the ground not far from where they were. He pulled his tail back, tightening his grip just barely before hitting the mud once more, his hand barely able to touch in, sending the ground off with a hum.

His metal shield bounded up into the sky once more, swooping with a thrust of air behind it. Toki coughed out a little mud, smearing it across his face as he glanced down at stone... so close. The Lemur flung is tail out, he couldn't take another hit, even if it was just stone again. His hands pressed forward, loosing away from her neck and bounding forward the moment Naira's body hit the ground with a final tap of his paw to her head. He whipped his tail back, wrapping it around his waist, spinning his body around, eyes fixating down on Naira with a cough,

"No my dear... I believe you are it."

Ever thrash against rock or mud was meant to bring about the greatest harm she could incur. There was no regard to personal safety. Several strikes upon a stone met the bone of her skull, or the thick vertebrae of her back. A mortal would have caved in to rapidly-forming concussion by now, but Naira persevered even when blood rushed forth from open wounds, sealing in time to be ripped open time and time again with each dashing of the earth.

But all of those chance strikes were far too low to bring danger to the lemur tied tightly about her neck. Choking though his embrace might have been, it failed to stem any motions made by the undead lass. There was another batch of stone nearby: inching closer and closer with every shift of her strange and twisted body. Sharp volcanic rock glinted ominously in the sun. It was a firm mineral. It's eroded edge would pierce anything that hit it just right, and with just enough force ...

Closer ...

Closer ...

Closer ...

Naira drew her torso up again, bending sharply at the abdomen. Drawing in her muscles Nemo slammed down harder than before. It would be a lethal blow by any means, whether it struck Toki where she desired to hit him or not. But the lemur was a puny animal and therefore quick with his limbs. He seized that final opening, propelling himself away ... and leaving nothing between Naira and the rock. No buffer, no cushion, no nothing - just a jagged edge bursting through a thick cranium, rupturing arteries, ripping through gray matter ...

For a split second Naira was finally able to make out something clear and it was far from rational. A haze of colors, then a blast of light. Shrieking pain and a thousand screams ripping through her mind, blotting out all other noise - Toki's comment was nothing more than a mere whisper in comparison to the bloodcurdling cried of tortured souls that didn't belong. Quite suddenly her chest seized forward. Arms clenched; Fingers tightened; Knuckles whitened. The Reaver's jaw split open in a harsh gasp, exhuming carbon dioxide steam ...

And then she was still, mouth agape and eyes fixed on the sky. No motion stirred digits or limbs. Even her torso refused to rise as if the lungs refused to work (which was, of course, because they had). Reddish skin faded to the telltale gray of heart failure in a matter of seconds. Lips and nail beds turned blue. And blood ... it seeped from the open wound at the base of her skull to turn the mud red.

His chest rose.

And fell.

The Lemur kept his hands tight, fists firm as he watched on the mess that unraveled itself before him. He could feel the mud stuck to his fur, the blood of his own wound dripping down through his belts and patting to the ground. He stood vacant for a time, unchanging his posture, waiting for her to react to him, waiting for her to lash out again. But it didn't come.. the woman curled up, blood beginning to pool at the dark rocky mud below her skull.

You gotta get me in the head.

Those finished words passed his mind as he slowly lowered his knee into the moving ground, pressing his fingers into the thick liquid below. The crack of his shield echoed around as it snapped into the ground only a few feet from where Naira had fallen.. his plan to strike her down with it had long passed. Toki was still cautious however as he rose up.

It took a moment for him to come to his senses, blinking lightly and shaking his head. His tail rung out, fluffing against the water that collected against his fur. The Lemur paced up to her, his hands clasping his chest side belt and un-clipping the buckle. He turned, using his two fingers to throw off all of the vials that were still attatched to it before standing up above Naira, waiting a moment. She had managed to heal from the wounds that came before, but... He tilted his head, watching the blood pooling at his paws, a patter of rain just beginning to sprinkle their battleground, "You better not try and bite be for this..." he grumbled softly before settling himself down at Naira's head.

Toki cradled her head up, pulling up his leather belt and wrapping it around her skull, tightening the buckle with a click and making sure the edge of the leather was pressed up firm against the wound, trying to stop the bleeding as much as he could. He was no healer, as he had thought before, but knew a few simple methods... Stop the bleeding... check! She wasn't breathing, skin cold and gray.. un-check!

The lemur slowly rose, pulling his shield back and resting it under head with a sigh before standing at her side running small fingers through his chin fuzz, she had healed smaller wounds before.. but what if this one was too large?

Perhaps he wasn't a healer - at least not a Master - but Toki had at least some knowledge of what to do in case of an emergency. Of course technically you wouldn't want to move the head due to possible spine injuries, and putting compression on the skull was good in part, but bad when it included the entire circumference of bone ... but what was done was done, and the lemur was doing his best. Certainly the bleeding did stop. But was it from the applied force, or from the fact that his movements had removed her skull from the sharpened stone? A sizable tangle of gray matter was removed from her skull when it was lifted from the lethal rock, ripping from its origin like wet tissue paper. Going hand in hand with the gleaming red stain pressed upon the jagged protrusion, it would be enough to turn somebody's stomach had they not the nerves to deal with such a sight.

But the bleeding had still stopped.

Without the obstruction blocking the way, vessels could now resume what they had been trying to do in the first place. The back of Naira's skull was facing the dirt, so Toki wouldn't be able to see the miracle-in-progress ... the stitching together of wounded membranes, ripped arterioles and veins ... A fresh layer of meninges sprouted from where its edges had been tattered, stretching forth to provide a protective layer over the brain which began to heal underneath. New bone birthed from what was no longer there ... piecing together a new patch in the old skull. If the lemur was paying attention he would be able to note the return of color to her face (a normal one, not the flaming red of danger).

Growth of new skin; Sprouting of renewed hair. Electrical charged fizzled and popped, sending wave after wave of senses to every inch of her body ... reactivating things that had, temporarily, gone dormant. They delivered a jolt to her lungs and Naira lurched forward with a gasp, eyes slamming jut against the forceful coughing which produced water inhaled earlier. It accumulated in her mouth and the Reaver spat it out.

These spasms lasted for about a moment. Then the woman leaned forward to catch her breath, an idle hand reaching to the belt tied about her head. That wasn't there before ...
