The tremors were getting a lot more fierce. Pulsating, growing in magnitude with each passing second. Every step they took was echoed by a rumble deep within the earth. Something moving closer? Maybe Ebb was on the move, albeit using the ground rather than the sky ... Nah. That would be unlikely. So what the hell was it? An earthquake? Perhaps there was a volcanic hot spot in the crust, tearing a hole into the terrace to form a volcano. On that note, one could not dissuade the possibility of a dormant beast in Boundary waking up to belch out its deadly fumes ...
Whatever the case may be, Mishayirth was more on edge than usual. Her skin was prickling with goosebumps here and there - surprisingly evident in her golden/yellow hide. Naira watched her with bemusement, the Reaver's heart throbbing much more calmly than her companion's. How do you convey peace of mind to a creature who had never been through this sort of thing before? It wasn't like Inora had a hell of a lot of natural disasters.
~This is becoming eerie ... ~ Mishayirth was talking telepathically, as always. Her voice mimicked her current age - deepening, mature. The dragonette was no longer a dragonette, but reaching the prime of her life - after all, Inoran dragons reached maturity at a young age, but lived for a very long time and did not become elderly until years and years and yeaaaaaaaars went by. Her colors were slightly more earthly but passionately more vibrant.
Funny. It had only been a month ...
"Ease up, Mish," Naira noted, tail twisting this way and that. "This is nothing compared to the crap that happened on Earth. This is a walk in the park compared to, say ... Haiti, China ... " A tone of bitterness rolled through her voice. She wasn't keen on recalling those two moments. A lot of lives had been lost ...
A brief nod of the dragon's snout and they were on the move again. Water sloshed around their ankles. Curious, Mishayirth looked down. ~ You don't suppose there are any, you know ... snakes, do you? ~
Naira rose a brow. "You're ot afraid of snakes, are you?"
~ Well ... poison ... from slithery things ... ~
"Half the creatures in this forest can talk. And if something should bite you ... you're thick-hied with a high immunity, and I'm a trained medic that can get the poison out of you Don't worry - you'll be fine."
~ Haaa ..., ~ noted the Inoran with a guttural chuckle, but she didn't sound convinced. Nemo shook her head.
