Zero Darius Drawn [Time Jump]

Post by ZeroDrawn »

===OOC===
I sure hope it's not too late for this. >_>; I'm late for -everything- around here it seems... .___.;;; Changes highlighted in Red

===IC===
Name: Zero Darius Drawn

Species: Chaotic Creature, Nekojin (Chaotic Creature concept explained below.)

Gender: Male

Alliance: Good

Age: 23

Mature Adult at Age: ~ (Normally it is 18. However, Zero's body is unable to age past it's current point due to special circumstances.)

Appearance: Zero Darius Drawn is a Nekojin, a humanoid feline who stands on two legs but who's appearance is largely dominated by cat features. He stands a mere four feet four inches high, though is quite convinced that one day he'll grow to a colossal figure of which everyone will fear and flee from. Ahuh, ain't happening. He's not muscular at all, but is lean and healthy. His entire body is covered in a layer of soft, pitch black furr, of medium thickness that grows to about an inch and a half in all places. His furr is largely kept clean and groomed down at all times, as he despises being unkempt. The only differential coloring in his furr is his white tipped ears and a white stripe on each cheek that starts from the outer corner of his eye and curves down across his cheek to the edges of his mouth. Smooth, shiny black hair adorns his noggin, about mid neck length. Unlike his furr, his hair is usually ruffled up.

Zero has a skinny face, but with large expressive blue eyes, a button kitten-like nose, four thin whiskers on each cheek, and a small mouth lined with pointy teeth. His eyes are a soft blue and have a unique property, described below. His hands are very much like a feline's paws, but the fingers are elongated to make manipulating objects easier. Normally keeps his claws sheathed, one inch when fully extended and quite sharp. His tail is not unusual in it's appearance, about three to three and a half feet long, very flexible, and very sensitive as well. It also has a unique property described in Abilities. His feet are akin to a feline's hind paws, although they're wide for his relative size. Normally he wears a clean, plain t-shirt and a pair of blue jeans. He never wears shoes. Sometimes may also be seen wearing a white lab trench coat and a pair of glasses perched on his nose.

Appearance - Ruined Form: Where there was once a young-looking catboy with expressive features of innocence and happiness, there is not such to be seen when he becomes Ruined. Zero is four inches shorter in his Ruined state at only four feet tall. The lack of height is made up for the intimidation this state generates - hair once short and playfully messy becomes long, thick dreadlocks (think of the Predator's hairstyle from Aliens Versus Predator) that grow down past his midback.

From gentle pools of sapphire blue his eyes morph to felvoids of an acid green - pure in their colour and without pupils, they consistently bellow forth cloudy green mists and radiate an energy that can best be described as furious. His breathing also expels a cloudy green mist, which prickles on contact. The white stripes on his cheeks become green and glow whenever he expresses any sort of intense emotion.

His body as a whole undergoes more of a change than just height - once merely lean and healthy, he bulks up considerably for his size, very clear muscular definition coming into play, especially around the chest and arms. A bright red circle burns itself into his chest, containing a pentagram symbol of the same colour within it, which glows a hateful red whenever he uses his abilities. Zero's tail perhaps undergoes the most radical difference - deviating from it's humble beginnings of soft fuzziness, it becomes thinner, whiplike with black scales devoid of furr covering it's length and a curved razorscythe at it's end.

By looking at him, his apparent physical age is around 14, 15 or so.

Personality: Friendly, kind, hyperactive, affectionate, headstrong, and protective. Zero is a generally happy fellow who always attempts to find the fun in life and have said fun with the people he meets. He is easily excitable, and can get quite hyperactive at the drop of the hat. But he is not always bouncing off the walls, especially if its inappropriate. He is well aware of situations that necessitate peace, quiet, or seriousness, and while he is unable to age physically any further, he is still aware that he is ultimately an adult and must take whatever responsibilities that presents into hand. That said, most of the time he's a big kid, a goofy, happy Nekojin scientist who's biggest goals in life are to be comfortable, be happy, make friends, and have fun.

Because of the events that have transpired during the two year transition, Zero has seen some things which have inevitably changed him. Though he retains all his prior values and still holds a strong sense of goodness, kindness, and loyalty, he has lost some of his restraint and is more susceptible to feelings of hopelessness and anger. Feeling that love alone would never be enough to protect those he cared about, he more openly embraces negative emotions for the power they give him. He also experiences a loss of focus, which can lead him to haphazard use of his abilities or cause him not to think a situation all the way through.

Zero has a moderate, happy voice, which is neither very deep or very high pitched. He has something of a unique dialect, in the way he pronounces and uses words. This must be seen rather than explained.

In his ruined form his voice becomes modulated and deep, with a supernatural echo.

=ABILITIES=

MIRROR OF TRUST (EYES) - "You...you're really...special to me...": Whenever someone gazes into Zero's eyes, they may or may not see their full reflection in them. It is not a reflection produced by light, but by Zero's emotions. Zero is not self-aware of this special trait, and those who become aware of it would have to guess at it's meaning.

Elaboration: When someone looks into Zero's eyes, they may or may not see their full reflection in them. For the most part, they won't. However, if Zero becomes particularly close to, enthralled by, or in love with someone, it's likely that they can look into his eyes and see their entire figure being reflected back at them, as if his eyes were a full body mirror being scaled down. It acts as a visual indicator of Zero's feelings towards the person, but is not always apparent. No reflection could mean that's he's anything from terrified to friendly with them ; reflection means that he has strong feelings for them. Zero himself is not aware that this occurs, so if someone asked him about it he would not know what they were talking about. Thusly, whoever would see it would have to guess at why it occurred.

ILLUSION OF INNOCENCE (TAIL) - "Dun touch mah tail!": Most of the time, Zero's tail seems completely harmless. It appears to be a normal tail, can be touched and felt like a normal tail (if he should allow it), and for all intents and purposes, is just a normal tail. However, integrated within the muscular tissue are nanomachines. When feeling threatened or in danger, Zero can reflexively activate these nanomachines, which integrate with the muscle and create titanium barbs, which then can be extended and retracted by Zero's will; It does not hurt Zero at all to expand or contract them. These barbs line the tail entirely, a few inches from the tail base all the way to it's tip, spread a small distance apart from each other. The barbs can curve in any direction. Their purpose is to discourage enemies from grabbing his tail as well as using them offensively, lashing his tail about to inflict grievous wounds. When danger has passed or Zero calms down, the nanomachines break down the barbs and the tail returns to normal.

Elaboration: He cannot regenerate his tail after it has been removed. It would have to be quickly surgically reattached before the tissue died or intervention on the part of a character with healing powers. Since his body does not grow, he cannot grow new limbs to replace old ones. The barbs are just metal spikes. They can bend and curve in a manner that metal could not do so easily (without being heated up or using immense strength). The barbs will reactively shift position and retract to avoid hurting Zero himself or those Zero considers friends - however, Zero must be aware of their presence for the barbs to react in such a manner. (If a friendly person snuck up and grabbed Zero's tail while the barbs were active, they would get stung.) Likewise, if Zero was severely winded (like hit in the head so hard it disoriented him), he could easily impale himself on the barbs.

The barbs are not present when Zero is in his Ruined Form.

EXPLOSIVE ENDANGERMENT (SCIENCE) - "I can't afford exterminators. So I made this insect smart bomb, right? Turned the thing on, and all my frozen pineapples exploded 'n a chimp fell through the roof and started breakin all mah windows! What gives!?": Zero has long since discovered a knack for studying and inventing things. He is a talented scientist / inventor, largely focused in designing gadgets and weaponry, most with the intent to blow something up. While he has the talent and potential to invent great things, he largely flubs the execution, often causing his inventions to backfire or act in a manner he did not expect. His truest, fullest success is his biological cyborg companion, Puffles. (His inventive potential is limited in Deep Forest, as the necessities are kept in his laboratory, a far off location.)

Weapon Design: Zero, when applied correctly, is a skilled designer of practical and powerful weaponry. Among his creations include: The "BFG 9001", a working replica of the similarly named and famed Doom gun. The "Juniper Blade", a powerful melee energy blade weapon affixed to the arm, and "The Hand of God", an orbital space platform designed to fire earth searing beams of light.

During the two year jump, Zero had seen significant advancement in the skill and execution of his scientific pursuits. With focus and patience, he's invented quite a few new devices which increase his offensive repretiore and resourcefulness tremendously.

=GADGETRY= (Listed are the items that Zero carries with him in Deep Forest.)

Scouter: Modeled directly after the devices worn by Frieza's henchmen in Dragonball Z, the Scouter is a small computational device with a translucent green rectangular screen that covers the left eye. The Scouter replaces Zero's holopad in both form and function - not only is it capable of all the functions his holopad was (storing information, retrieving it, status reports on his laboratory, and various informational-related tasks), but it is also capable of threat detection in the form of being able to detect high outputs of energy, noxious chemicals in the air, and poisonous substances in edible materials.

The Scouter also gives Zero a full readout of his own condition, able to monitor all his vital signs and give detailed reports on his state of injury, from things as simple as minor scratches to the exact hairline fractures of bone damage and early warning signs for things such as blood clots and cancer. So long as he has his Scouter he is constantly aware of every aspect of his health, with critical issues being raised as a warning automatically.

Zero controls the scouter through subconscious thought. As long as he is wearing it, it can read his thoughts and bring him the information he needs at the moment he needs it.

Chimp Ray: Turns the target into a chimpanzee. Completely ineffective on non-humanoid creatures and anything with even a sliver of resistance to polymorph / magical effects. The Chimp Ray must shoot exposed skin or very thin clothing to work. Zero usually uses it for fun and to turn himself into his alter ego, Curious George. This device will not be used on other characters without the player's permission.

Porta-Chickens: A round device sharing an exact likeness to a Pokeball. Zero carries two with him, both contain pet chickens named King Edward and Lord Jonathan. The chickens are...just regular chickens, though perhaps a little smarter and more resilient than your average farm breed.

Can'O'Lostsoul: An aerosol can with a big flaming skull painted on it. When shaken and sprayed, a red mist will solidify into a Lost Soul of Doom fame (floating flaming demon skull with horns). The Lost Soul charges at and attempts to bite anything nearby, including Zero himself. The Lost Soul only moves at a moderate pace and charges at it's target in a straight line - it will not deviate from it's trajectory even if it's target moves out of the way. Usually it retargets after hitting something solid. Lost Souls are easily dispatched by even the most basic of weaponry or attack.

Gremlin Grenades: A grenade which explodes in about seven seconds after the pin is pulled. The explosion is not harmful, but it releases a swarm of little green goblin-looking things, about twenty the size of soda cans. They shriek and holler and rush their target, attempting to pull on appendages (such as ears and tails if they have them), steal things from pockets, poke eyes, give wet willies in the ears, and team effort wedgies. They're mischievous in nature and while annoying, are not dangerous and can be shaken off with enough force and dispatched with just about any offensive measure.

Juniper Claws: Lacking the proficiency to use a sword weapon, Zero came to the conclusion that he'd have to design a melee weapon he'd be more comfortable with. Through brainstorming and prototyping, he eventually designed the Juniper Claws. When inactive, the claws are merely two black form-fitting latex gloves which are specifically fitted for Zero's paws. However, when the gloves are activated by way of a thought command, the latex dissolves into nanofibres and is absorbed by Zero's skin, integrating with the nerves, muscles, and bone of his hands.

From this point forward Zero has a claw ability which is a direct mimicry of the famous X-men character Wolverine. With a reflexive twitch he can extend a six inch long blade of energy from each knuckle (eight in total). These blades are consistently sharp no matter where they are touched and are strong enough to sear through things thick as solid steel. Much like lightsabres of Star Wars fame, they can be used to shear and deflect incoming projectiles - however, Zero lacks the reflexes and skill to use this feature in the same vein as a full fledged Jedi.

Sphere of Recrudescence: Zero has long been aware of the steep limitations imposed by his body's inability to heal quickly - even small injuries could take many times the length it would take a normal individual to heal up. During his two year jump, he compiled a detailed analysis of his body's healing properties over a long span of time and used the data to manufacture a device that could duplicate the cells and processes needed to repair his form. This resulted in the Sphere of Recrudescence.

Zero need only activate the sphere and enter it for a regeneration period. The sphere requires a minimum of six hours to analyze the current state of his cells so that it can create new ones to work in accordance with them. Beyond this, it could take only a few minutes to repair minor injuries or a few days for more severe wounds.

Mechanically, the sphere is a literal silver orb about twice the size of a baseball which is placed on the ground and activated by touch. It creates a suspension field around it, which Zero steps into and floats above the ground. The field puts him into stasis and begins the regeneration process. Recrudescence requires no energy source, but provides not exterior protection for Zero and thus while he's regenerating he's very vulnerable. No harmful effects are sustained if regeneration is halted early beyond simply not being done.

PINK SPLODEY SPHERE OF HORRIBLE DEATH (POWER) - "Innocence Cannon!": Zero is capable of manipulating his "ki", or life force energies, to do other things besides merely sustaining him. He can create blasts of concussive force in his paws and direct it to destruction. His overall offensive capability is generally low - the blasts are not particularly strong and only do moderate damage. His ki control is largely allocated to non combat things, he can perform a variety of little tricks with his energy that are entertaining but have no practical use. He only becomes a worthy opponent in the face of mortal danger or great injustice - at these times, he is able to garner the will to ignore the limiters on his body and grow exponentially in power. If a situation is so dire he faces imminent, unavoidable death, or cannot save someone he loves from such a fate, it is possible that the force binding his body into it's child form can be broken, allowing him to ascend into his Adult Form.

Elaborating on the bolded part above, Zero can gain a level of power allowing him to control vast quantities of his energy and deliver much more potent destruction. He is dangerous at this point. But acquiring this level of power is no simple matter. It requires great emotional distress or the desire to protect someone without any fear.

Example: If Zero had a mother figure, and someone tortured or beat that person to within an inch of their life and had no intention to stop until they were dead. This kind of distress is what is necessary for Zero to use his greater power.

Little Tricks: Expelling static bubbles from his mouth, shooting pink steam out of his ears, making his furr glow pink, drawing pictures using his energy and animating it into a lifelike state (like a cartoon).

GREEN SPLODEY SPHERE OF HORRIBLER DEATH AND BURNING AND HURT (POWER) - "I can hurt a little more if it means you never have to again.": Present in all the ki-sentient members of Zero's family is the ability to manipulate an energy known as "Blood Power". Whereas Ki-based abilities feed off the energy of the heart and the soul, blood power feeds off the energy of the very body itself. Skin, blood, bone, muscle tissues and other aspects of the body can be broken down and converted into powerful sources of energy. The sacrificial nature of this ability lends it to dark pursuits, and thus many of the abilities fueled by the energy are better described as "evil" and destructive in nature.

Zero has taken on a unique interpretation of this skill - where normally users of Blood Power inflict injuries on themselves on an as-needed basis to fuel their attacks, Zero makes use of corrosive energy. What this means is after he absorbs the energy from the initiator wound and conjures an attack, the power he is manipulating usually damages his body as he holds it, thus creating additional injury and giving him a constant supply of wounds from which to draw more power.

Zero's signature ability through Blood Power is the Furyblast - when sufficiently angered, he can unleash an intensely powered burst of fel energies which howls through the air and devastates whatever it comes into contact with. Beyond this, he can create all-purpose orbs of acid to throw about, breathe cloudy corrosive mists that sting and burn eyes, and poisonify his tailbarbs, either to increase their onhit effectiveness or swing his tail to shoot them as projectiles.

TWO'S SHORTER THAN THE ONE (POWER) - "So umm...wanna see somethin cool?": With a brief period of concentration, Zero can perform a technique known as the Spirit Divide. The Spirit Divide splits his body, mind, and soul into two distinct entities, named Ze and Ro. Ze and Ro are nearly identical in physical structure to Zero, with some differences: Ze is completely white furred, and has no stripes on his cheeks. Ro is completely black furred, also without stripes or colored ear tips. Both are four inches shorter than Zero himself, and each one exhibits certain aspects of Zero's persona, concentrated and exaggerated. Ze is the affectionate, kind, friendly side of Zero, whilst Ro is the headstrong, rough and tumble, hyper side of Zero. The spirit divide serves no functional purpose - both personae are weaker than the full Zero and a split mind does not work nearly as well as a complete one. However, it has limited application as an escape mechanism or purely for entertainment.

CHAOTIC CREATURE (ANAMOLY) - "Whoa whoa whoa...noogies? Nyuh-uh, please no noogies! I reallllly don't like them! o__o": Zero is not a natural born creature. Although he was at one time naturally conceived between a male and female of his kind, the Zero of that period eventually died in order to save someone. The Zero before you now came about due to the one he saved's desire to bring him back to life. Her name was Khazetuha, and she accomplished this by sacrificing her powerful form, splitting herself into three lesser entities. One of these three entities was Zero himself, manifested from her memories of him, her love, and the immense amount of power she possessed, not to mention intervention on behalf of those who oversee life and death. Zero's unnatural conception in this manner has left him with a number of unusual responses to various stimuli, a few of which include: Being poked on the nose, receiving a noogie, or ingesting catnip. The responses are varied and range from an uncontrollable change in mood to an uncontrollable change in the size and structure of his body.

None of these stimulus responses are harmful to other people, but can be quite confusing or frightening to witness, and can be harmful to Zero himself.

As for the stimulus responses themselves, being poked on the nose causes Zero to lose muscular control and go completely limp for about ten seconds. Being given a noogie causes him to turn into a defenseless chibi version of himself, which lasts five minutes give or take. Catnip causes him to become extremely affectionate (even inappropriately so) but slowly toxifies his blood over time. He becomes very sick after about half an hour and requires rest and a lot of water to recover from it. Other stimulus responses are of this nature - again, they're not harmful to other people, but they can really muss up Zero himself.

I AM RUIN (POWER) - "Forget everything I have ever told you...and run away. If you remain near me as I am now, your life will come to an end.": Sometimes no matter how hard one tries they cannot summon the strength inside to overcome the highest hurdles. Zero faced this when the life of Khazetuha was placed in danger once again. Too frightened of the consequences that came with ascending to his Adult Form and too battered to gain anymore strength from his childlike state, Zero succumbed to the powerful feelings of hate and rage and unleashed the full potential of his body while simultaneously shutting his spirit down.

There are three notable advantages brought on by the Ruined Form. The first is Blood Power Focus, which increases the strength of his blood power abilities as well as increasing their efficiency, so that they require less injury to use. The second is Fel Regeneration, the ability for his body to rebuild itself by destroying living matter in the surrounding area. Fel Regeneration can reconstruct skin, muscle, blood, and bone as well as repairing damage dealt to internal organs. The most effective implementation of this skill is inflicting wounds on another individual - he can sap the energy from the injury and use it either to fuel more attacks without using his own body or repair the damage he's inflicted upon himself. However, Fel Regeneration can also work by breaking down plant matter and corroding the soft tissues of creatures in close proximity to Zero. Tissues created by Fel Regeneration are different from Zero's natural skin, and the more of it that integrates with his body the more he is changed internally.

The final ability is simply called "Ruin", and works directly off the tissues created by Fel Regeneration. Zero can dislodge and reform these tissues as entirely new limbs which can be moved and controlled individually. This is often put into practice as powerful Ruin Tentacles, which lash about and slam into things near to Zero. As he gains more layers of Fel Regeneration tissues he can make more tentacles and they each become stronger. At low to mid levels, he can make a few tentacles with whiplike movements and snapping strength.

The ability becomes most notable at moderate and higher levels of tissue coverage - with enough of the fel regeneration active, Zero can generate tentacles the size of tree trunks with battering strength and the ability to burrow through solid earth. It's a rather unsettling sight because at the higher levels of Ruination, most of Zero's muscular, skeletal, and organ systems are exposed while he works the tentacles.

I WILL NEVER GIVE UP! (POWER) - "I...I can't save you like this...something's holding me back...but I'm not ready to let you go. No matter what...no matter what I have to do... to give up...I won't lay down and die..I'll save you, I promised you I would...I will not die here, not until you're safe again!" : Ultimately, Zero can forcefully break the bonds that hold his body as a child, and rejoin his past self. The end result is he ascends to his Adult Form, and all his memories of his past return to him, as well as his full strength. He becomes a true and formidable opponent, and is no longer held back by anything. He does not become a god, nor an unstoppable force, but he is not to be underestimated.

There is an immense downside to this, however. Zero Darius Drawn died once. Whatever supernatural forces oversee the bridges between life and death are not privy to allowing him life again. The Zero created by Khazetuha was allowed as a reward to her for her struggle, but he was trapped in his younger body and stripped of his memories as a price. Returning him to what he once was breaks the silent pact made between Khazetuha and these entities. If Zero ascends to his Adult Form, inevitably he will eventually be drawn into oblivion and lost forever.

Zero's Adult form is the most powerful state he posseses. Because the memories of his past life are returned to him, as is the body, he gains the experience of a Zero who fought against the forces of the Yanna for many years in defense of Khazetuha. His Adult Form stands about 5'10, but is otherwise a more matured looking version of Zero (the kittenlike features that Zero posses are replaced by mature feline features). His adult form is an experienced melee and ranged combatant, his physical strength is superior to Child Zero (Child Zero is only of average physical strength for an equivilant human being of age and size and has limited combat experience.) and the impact of his strikes can dent solid steel barriers.

He has much more available Ki than Child Zero and can unleash destruction with greater intensity. Adult Zero does not have the tail barbs as Child Zero does. The purpose of Adult Zero is to surpress and overcome the weaknesses and disadvantages of the child Zero form - but at a steep price. It is something that can only be used once, it is his Last Stand. Child Zero will become briefly aware of the conequences of ascending to his Adult Form, giving him the chance to remain in Child Form but doing this will gain no benefits of the Adult Form. If he chooses to continue regardless, then he becomes a hardened warrior with a lifetime of combat experience and training to match. The price he pays, and the disadvantage, is that, regardless of the outcome of the encounter which pushed him to his Adult Form, he will fade away. There is nothing that can stop this from happening - once he has made the choice to ascend to his Adult Form, he has also made the choice to be completely obliviated. His life, and his story, ends.

=WEAKNESSES=

While Zero has a wide range of abilities, most of them are largely useless. As stated, his Ki Control is not strong enough to cause any considerable damage, and his inventive execution usually backfires on him. His tail barbs are strong and can cause fatal injury if they strike in critical spots, but they are limited to melee range and generally not wholly effective in an offensive sense, especially if his tail were cut off. Of further note to his tail is the general sensitivity of it - it is paralyzingly painful for damage to be inflicted on Zero's tail and can easily incapacitate him. He is only of average strength physically. He attempts to avoid fighting whenever possible, and it is only when he has no other choice that he fights. His true strength comes from protection of others - when someone he loves or cares about is endangered, he will not back down, and will not stop fighting until he breathes his last breath.

The inherent disadvantage with using greater levels of power is the fact it takes a great toll on his body. He ignores the limiters in order to increase his power, but those limiters exist to protect him. Surpassing them is mentally exhausting, it can push his muscles past the point of failure physically (basically ripping them apart and doing damage to them), using large amounts of ki in quick sucession is taking away his life force - the energy being used up to deliver attacks is not being used to sustain his soul, and has the potential to cause his soul to shatter. If Zero's soul shatters, he either ends up dead or very close to it. Because he does not heal injuries quickly, this is something he has to keep in mind at all times. If someone with medical knowledge or healing abilities is not nearby, his only refuge is his lab, and that is very far from Deep Forest. Again, it is no simple matter to attain this level of power. It requires great emotional distress because Zero would not have a reason to power up unless he absolutely needed to, as the consequences can be dire in the long run.

He also heals from wounds very slowly - even small cuts can take a long time to heal due, again, to the fact that he no longer grows (and as a consequence produces new cells at a much slower rate than others). It is often through his laboratory and medical equipment that he mends himself quickly, but this equipment is not portable. If Zero sustained serious injury, he would need to be taken from / leave Deep Forest to recover.

His tail is his achilles heel. As stated, it is paralyzingly painful for damage to be inflicted on it. Zero cannot just go lashing his tail about at enemies without thinking - if the enemies had swords, projectile armaments, or powers (fire, acid, ect), any injury upon his tail would cripple him for a duration, leaving him completely open and vulnerable.

Juniper Claws: The only part of Zero's body immune to the effects of the Juniper Claws are his hands and wrists - the way the nanomachines integrate with the skin prevents them from being harmed by the energy used by the blades. However, the rest of his body is vulnerable to the blades, and a skilled opponent could wind Zero and turn his own weapons back on him to devastating effect. The claws are not infinitely useable either - they're draw on a reserve of bioelectricity from Zero's body. A full charge can power the claws for a half hour, requiring twice as long to fully recharge.

Sphere of Recrudescence: As mentioned, using the sphere leaves Zero vulnerable in the same sense as being asleep would leave him the same way - if there is sufficient stimulus, he can snap out of stasis to defend himself. However, if his injuries have not fully healed he would be in a bad position. Because of the length of time the sphere requires, it is not something he can just pull out in the middle of a fight and is only viable when he has time for peace and rest.

Blood Power: Whereas drawing on Ki drains the spirit and makes Zero tired, drawing on Blood Power is literally devouring the resources of the body - the more he makes use of the abilities the more injuries he inflicts on himself. Open wounds may not appear to bleed only because the blood is being burnt up to fuel more Blood Power attacks. As his body sustains more injury and loses more blood to his attacks, he can eventually go into physical shock, pass out, and experience anemia, cardiac arrest, and even death.

Furyblast is his most powerful direct Blood Power attack, but the damage it inflicts on his body is akin to a sudden trauma. He can get it out quickly and it's very effective, but it usually ends up causing him to reel in pain and disorients him badly. Using many furyblasts in a row is extremely dangerous, as it can rupture and hemorrhage Zero internally.

There is also the matter of Zero being naturally slow at healing from wounds - though he has designed the Sphere of Recrudescence for this purpose, he still has to specifically use the sphere for it to be of any worth, and that requires a full day of downtime to accomplish. Zero has to be very careful in how he uses his Blood Power, lest he injure himself to a point where he cannot get help.

Ruined Form: When Zero takes on his ruined form, his spirit is immediately shut down. He can no longer draw upon his ki-based abilities and has to rely completely on his physical body or Blood Power to maintain a combat presence. Along with the suppression of his spirit comes the diminishing of emotions such as love, happiness, and fear, as well as the empowering of emotions such as anger, hate, and aggression. He becomes more susceptible to irrational decisions and liable to do things without fully thinking them through.

He also shows less mercy and is unlikely to respond to pleas for surrender if he has been sufficiently angered. In essence, the Ruined form is a shedding of many of the qualities that make Zero a loving, kind and gentle person in favor of qualities that allow him to fight at full strength and even take a life.

Fel Regeneration is a constantly active trait of Ruined Form and it does not discern between friend or foe. That means anyone within immediate proximity of Zero will feel the effects of it, having their skin slowly eaten away by it's power. This is simple enough to step away from and is ineffective on armored targets, but the fact it does not cease means it's unsafe for Zero to be near those he wishes to protect.

Fel Regeneration maintains the health and integrity of his body by creating new elements to replace the old ones, however these elements are not the same. They are born of fel energy and are unnatural to his form. As Zero eats more and more of his body away and replaces it with Fel Regeneration, he will take on a furrless, pulsating black scale-like appearance. This present no problem so long as he is in ruined form, but if he changes back to his normal form his body will reject the fel tissue, reverting all the damage that was repaired and leaving him in a bad spot. The worst case scenario would be if his body were to assume a near 100% fel reconstruction - this would mean he would be unable to leave Ruined Form without killing himself.

Ruin is directly tied to the amount of tissues generated by Fel Regeneration - essentially, the more Zero damages his body and replaces it with fel energy, the more Ruin Tentacles he can create and the stronger they become. However, when he's directing the fel energy into the ruin tentacles, they are no longer protecting his body, leaving him a visible vulnerability point. Only the minimal amount of tissue needed to hold him together is retained, the rest is usually put forth to power the tentacles.

Though he can use the tentacles to wrap around his body, fight off nearby combatants, and block incoming attacks, if an opponent were able to sneak an attack through to his vulnerable form the results could be devastating.

FAMILY: The present Zero knows nothing of the past Zero's family. He considers his friends and the ones he loves his family, and to him, that's all he needs.

History: To start, Zero was a member of a family line of fathers and sons designated to protect the last remaining piece of a mostly forgotten civilization, who was not an object but a being. This being was a fusion of three entities, who's souls and bodies became one through a special fusion process, in which the knowledge the being possessed could be carried throughout time by way of splitting the soul when it was near death, imbuing it into three young, and combining the three together, creating a new being with a rejuvenated life force. Once the fusion had been commenced, it was only a matter of time before the three beings involved no longer existed. The culmination of them was it's very own being, and reverting to the three that preceded it would have been impossible.

The most recent iteration of these rituals took the name Khazetuha, and she had a history of her own.

The fusion that had resulted in her creation had actually gone on for many generations, and it's purpose was to conceal the knowledge and heritage of an extinct alliance, the Gerougeon Alliance. A conglomerate of many different species who came from all parts of the universe, bringing with them their own unique heritage, ideas, and advantages. The Alliance was formed as the result of a vision to create a Utopian society, where all were welcome with open arms, and all were given the opportunity to present their own ideals, their own dreams and goals that could one day be met by the combined force of the Alliance. In a sense, it was a unity between all different people who held in common the desire to seek for a greater future and fulfillment of dreams.

However, in such a society, it was inevitable that those who had intentions unrighteous and inherently evil would arise, but attempts to integrate these dark ideals, they were always met with resistance and eventually expulsion from the society. When it was obvious overt means were completely ineffective, covert means were used instead. Over great lengths of time and greater planning, individuals with deviate desires infiltrated the community, worked their way up in hierarchical standings of power, and when all had been set in place, unleashed at once a torrential wave of wave of subversion and acquisition.

Such great knowledge and resources the Gerougeon society possessed, that any one person whom controlled it would become powerful beyond all reason. The good elders in the society knew this, and had long ago established fail-safe devices to prevent such a catastrophe from ever occurring, collectively called the Mass Extinction Array. As it became apparent that the very things they feared had occurred, they gathered for one last time. It was inevitable that this measure would be put to use, but the elders felt it mutually unnecessary to completely erase everything the Gerougeon's had worked for. The Library, where all the written culmination of Gerougeon history, life, and discovery existed, was sealed up with powerful sorcery and driven deep into the land, locked away permanently.

The only way the library could be accessed at this point was via the Crisis Code, named so for it's creation during the Gerougeon's Crisis. The manner in which this code was to be communicated or how it was held was known only by the Elders. The code was embedded deep within three of the elder's souls, and to protect it, they fused, minds, bodies, and souls becoming one being. This being had great strength, great power, and a much extended lifespan, so that it could carry and protect the Crisis Code as it went on.

The fused being fled from Paladia, capital city of the Gerougeon race, along with one trusted advisor (the ancestor that began the family line from which Zero descended) and the Mass Extinction Array was activated. Everything was instantaneously destroyed, the entire Gerougeon Alliance wiped out, leaving behind only a hollowed out ruination of the once great capital city.

The Fused Being lived on, proceeding through it's life with the knowledge that when the time was right, the Crisis Code would be activated, and it alone would be responsible for beginning the rebuilding of the Gerougeon Society. But even this Fused Being had only a limited lifespan, however long it may have been, and towards the end of it's time among the living, it was forced to make use of the Spirit Divide. This technique effectively divided the soul of the Fused Being into three again, and placed these souls into three new beings, which were the children of the Fused Being. The souls themselves were very weak, as their life was meant to come to an end. However, combined with the essences of the young, the souls became strong again. The children then fused themselves, into what was the Second Fused Being. With renewed life and vigor, this second fusion carried on the Crisis Code as the previous one had, and lived an extended life.

As for the advisor, he passed on his knowledge of the being to his progeny, and gave to them the ultimate responsibility of watching over it. This would continue for many generations, following the Fusion.

The Crisis Code had not activated, even through multiple iterations of the Fused Beings. This was due to the formation on a new society, calling themselves the Yanna, who had discovered the Library and the circumstances surrounding it's sealing. Cryptic inscriptions left upon the outside of the library allowed this new society to determine that the only way to access the vast information held within the walls was through "a brotherhood of one", the fused being.

Taking what little knowledge they could gather, the Yanna eventually managed to track down the Fused Being. But this fusion was different from the others. Desperate circumstances had resulted in the prior Fusion having used an infant as one of the three to be the recipients of the Spirit Divide, and the resulting Spirit Fusion produced a fused being that was also an infant. Mind wiped of memory, this Fusion had no knowledge of the burden she carried and what it meant for her to protect it. By fortunate happenstance, the infantile and helpless fused being had protectors, guardians They loved her greatly and gave her the name Khazetuha.

The Yanna having pursued and finally identified the location of the current Fused Being and would subsequently destroy her life in their ongoing attempts to force her to reveal the crisis code to them. It didn't help that she had no knowledge of how to activate or make use of what she held inside of her, and throughout her life, Khazetuha remained always on the run, watchful and weary by the constant attempts to capture her. The powers she had developed by happenstance and the intervention of her guardian, Zero Darius Drawn, were the only things that kept repeatedly pulling her just out of the Yanna's grasp.

Her life is a story of it's own, but in the end, Zero was ultimately forced to give up his life to save her, resulting in the final destruction of what remained of the Yanna. Though she was safe, everyone that she loved had been killed, and in the world, she was alone. She could not stand the fact that it was because of the stupid secret she carried that so many people were hurt, especially Zero, and as a final desperate act, she used her power and great love to tear her own soul apart, which split and manifested itself into three new entities. One was Lesser Khazetuha, a representation of the former Khazetuha, except stripped of most of her powers and the Gerougeon Burden, thus allowing her to live the life she had always wanted. Another was Khazetemba, a male alter-ego that had previously only existed as a transformation of Khazetuha's (an ability which she gained through a mishap with a magical artifact.) Finally, the third entity was Zero, reborn through Khazetuha's memories and love for him.

Those who preside over life and death would normally not allow someone who had chosen to die to be brought back to life. However, it was allowed, though specifically why is not known. There were restrictions set in place. Zero was reborn without his past memories, and his body was locked in it's young state, a way of gifting him his childhood but keeping him from the adulthood he had sacrificed. Zero is unaware of any of this - he believes that he was a random manifestation of the spirit divide and doesn't know or really care why he doesn't grow

Blessed with some unique powers and a strong ingenuity, he very quickly found a niche in dreaming up new ideas and creating new things. An inventor, if you will. He always found pleasure in conjuring up some off-kilter idea for a device that he would eventually construct. Usually, however, the devices he constructed were inefficient, not fully functional, or lacking in some other way. It was due to the fact that he lacked the resources (money, raw material) and the mentorship to design them with better precision.

He felt he would have to give up his dreams of scientific endeavors, but his potential had not gone unnoticed. No, most certainly not, for the Greatest Scientific Genius in All The Universe, Washuu Hakubi, had taken notice of him. While his inventions never worked to their full design, it was nonetheless a feat for someone of his age to be even comprehending such complex and intricate devices. Seeing his struggle and waning enthusiasm, she knew that she had to take this budding scientific mind under her wing, lest his scientific promise recede into abeyance.

And so Zero was under the apprenticeship of Miss Washuu, and he remained so for four years, gaining an impossible amount of knowledge in that time, far exceeding what could have been learned in modern universities. He left Miss Washuu with great thanks, great knowledge, and great wealth, due to Washuu having ensured him a lifelong stream of income through various highly illegal means.

Zero moved on to purchase a home, and rather quickly constructed his very own underground labyrinth. While nothing compared to Washuu's subspace, multi-planetary infrastructure, it was far beyond what anyone else his age could have constructed. He lived in the unassuming, modern-style three story house that perched above it, and continued on life, seeming just a normal Nekojin boy publicly (as normal as a Nekojin could be living amongst humans, anyways), and a mad scientist privately, churning out all manner of wild and imaginative things with the assistance of robotic helpers.

This is what comprises the important parts of his history. He lived and continued in his laboratory / home, sharing it with a few others over the course of time.

Present time, he has left his home behind and taken only a few things with him. From the limited sources he could find, he had discovered information about a place called Deep Forest. There, from what he had gathered, lived all manner of creature and kin. Although he had spent most of his life living amongst humans and had very few confrontations, he had always held an interest in finding more of his own kind, and by extension more of all other kinds. Leaving any implications and thoughts of science, study, and experiment behind, he left for Deep Forest, his only intention to discover a place new, friends new, and possibly, a home new.

It seems his time in Deep Forest was cut one too short...not long after Puffles arrival at the forest, events occurred which forced Zero to return to his laboratory. It was clear to him that the mysteries of his past were more than just mere curiosities, and he would never be able to maintain a peaceful existence until he uncovered the answers to his life and where he came from. Events transpired during the two year period which had a profound effect on Zero's mind and body...no longer believing that he possesses the strength necessary to defend the ones he loves in his heart alone, he has allowed himself to sink into darker pursuits in exchange for greater levels of power.

Though he is still the kind, happy, and loving Zero he has always been, he also teeters on the edge of darkness. Believing that his love of life and resistance to harming others makes him weaker, he forcefully sheds much of his spirit to unleash the greater depths of his power. Though he has remained relatively in control of it for the timebeing, there always exists the possibility that he could lose himself to the darkness and be lost forever within it's void. Only time and the events that follow will tell where Zero is to progress next.

Hmm, everything is balanced out pretty well, except for the Fel regeneration. While the consequences of using this are obviously dangerous to him, while he's using it he's kind of unstoppable. The real disadvantage only comes afterwards, when in RP terms it's already too late to do something about it. Could you try and balance this out as well?
