Kibaki and Drifter

Post by PridesPrice »

I'm just starting, but I'd like to make this for two characters.
They arn't likely to seperate often...or I'm not planning on it...but I wanted to make it an easy option in case they want to.

Name:
Kibaki

Species: Xyron
My creation:
Assumed rare species for those that want to claim knowing of it...few remain and havn't been seen in ages...somewhat resemble humans(main details in appearance but basically humanoid with horns, thicker skull, slightly larger eyes, longer life span)

Gender:
Male

Alliance:
Good

Age:
15

Mature Adult at Age:
16

Appearance:
The young man stands about 5ft tall with a rather lean body. His humanoid frame comes with spiraled horns that are approximatly 3inches long. The base of the horns are about an inch thick and quickly turn into sharp points at the top. The horns are silver with tips that are a dark grey blue, like clouds right before a thunderstorm.
His hair is a deep shiny black, with an almost iradescent purple tinge when struck just right by the light...or it would be when cared for well. Often it contains dirt, dust, and maybe a stray leaf from the lack of care it often gets.
Kibaki's eyes have the same grey/blue color as the tip of his horns and are somewhat larger than a human's, often helping to give him an appearance of being a bit younger than he is. A scar runs diagonally from underneath the inside corner of his right eye down to his right cheek.
His skin, especially his arms and face are a rich tan color from hours spent in the sun. Clothing keeps his back and legs somewhat paler tan color. On his back is a large number of criss-crossing of scars..the pink-whitish color standing out against the rest of his skin.
His clothing generallly compromises of simple shirts...lacking in design or quality materials. His feet have the best quality attire he owns, a decent pair of hiking boots, thick enough to stop a snake's bite, and water proof.

Personality:
Kibaki outwardly acts like he hasn't a care in the world the majority of the time. His key concern only seems to be for companion's well being.
He can be moody at points, most likely to show if he's been on his own a bit and had time to think without interuption.
Kibaki can be very stubborn...rather like a mule. Once he's decided something it'll take some well chosen words, actions and a lot of patience to make him change it.
Kibaki has learned pain happens, its part of life. Get him into a fight and he's not all that likely to stop no matter how much you hurt him. The boy fights until his body refuses to obey him.
Family is a topic best avoided with him, its one sure way to quickly shut him up.

Abilities:
Good eyes...his eyes can see quite well day or night.
Normal human vision:20/20, his would be about 20/15…meaning he can see at a 20ft distance, what most people would need to be at 15ft to see. More importantly his enlarged eyes house more rod and cone cells than a humans eye…the rods pick up light and cones help pick up color. Kibaki see’s about 3 times better in the dark than a human. For a comparison a cat see’s about five times better than a human in the dark. (info from cathealth.com and from howstuffworks.com)
Magic Resistant: It's a bit of an oddity..magic doesn't work well if at all around him...especially if tried to use on him.
Information unknown to the character: Kibaki doesn't believe in magic...unexplainably this has tied in with his magic resistance...should he ever lose this belief, except magic...the resistance would start to fade. Magic's a funny thing...even better...if he ever decides to accept magic he'd find he has a tiny ability in that as well...not much...just enough to sense magic around him and mentally communicate with animals. However...all this is blocked to him as well as other magic until he decides to beleive...if he see's magic he will try to find alternate explanations for it.Distance: Line of sight, up to 35yards

Pain tolerance: Kibaki still feels pain, he simply has learned to accept it. Obvious advantages…still able to think clearly while in pain. He’s not a masochist, and has no desire to be in pain. The pain he’s more use to accepting would fall along the lines of cuts, broken bones, and bruising. Thus as those are what he’s most familiar with he could take more of that, (break rib’s/fingers/legs) without showing so much pain (aka crying/screaming..whatever) than if someone to try techniques such as burning, shocking, poisons, ect..
Decent agility...he doesn't have super speed for running but he's great at sharp turns, ducking down, rolling...ect

His thick skull does help on any blow given to the head...takes a bit more force than a normal blow to knock him out right there...imagine more like hitting a rhino skull instead of a person's

Thieving: He's fairly decent to good at this

Disadvantages:
Pain Tolerance – will ignore pain at points and press body to limits, causing him more harm than possibly necessary. For instance if no chance of winning in a fight may continue fighting and ignore bodies injuries.

Magic resistant: If he’s blindfolded magic could still work next to him. If he’s not conscious or aware magic would still work around him. If the magic leaves results to be found when he wakes up...say a person was healed…he’d just try to find an explanation for it. (By all means, all of this can be with a check with other players…if someone wants to say there magic is strong enough to override his ability to null it that’s alright…as long as there could agree that it does become much harder for them to perform their magic. Would still say unable to work magic directly on him) Magic resistance also means no useful spells can be cast on him such as healing.

No real training at fighting...he can dodge a blow..and throw a punch but no knowledge of the best method's of fighting or defending...just randomly striking works for him...

Thick Skull: Only applies directly to the skull, rest of his face is fair game

Thievery: Kibaki only tries to steal from those who appear to not be paying attention to their possessions. If someone is decently good at deceiving a person to thinking they aren’t paying attention to their possessions he could be in trouble.

Family:
Family? Yah he has them regretably.
A mother, father, and an older brother. They should still be in the house he left behind, and plans to never return too. Thrown out, they are likewise done with him.

History:
Kibaki doesn't remember much of his earliest years, mostly his memories start around the age of 7. Before then he had known not only of the existance of magic but that he had some abilities with it. His parents, nor brother seemed to have magic from what he could sense. His family had treated him with love also, up till the day his mother had seen him talking to a cat and told his father. They had listened in silence, and noticed how the cat reacted as if it understood, and then listened to him talk of what the cat had seen.
The parents understood what it meant, their son had something that they did not. He had magic...and it was a thing they didn't like. Maybe it was jealousy, maybe it was fear of something unknown to them...but thats when things changed.
Kibaki's father beat him, causing him more pain that day than any time before or after...thus causing his loss of memory. He was kicked, punched, and struck hard with a belt till he had been left curled up in a ball whimpering on the floor. Repeatedly his father had told him during the beating 'magic does not exist, you can not talk to animals..magic does not exist' He had then been ignored in miserable pain for two days, lacking food and only getting help to the restroom and small sips of water from his mother.
What Kibaki remembers is the cold way his father would look at him, the false smiles of his mother and the look of superiority his brother would toss at him. He never missed noting the pats on the back his father gave to his brother, while Kibaki was left to feel the harsh strike of a hand...or even once he felt the strike of a horse whip into his back..a few times it had been sticks.

Kibaki learned to steal as a way of getting revenge against his brother, and as he got older and more daring his father. It was petty things...from his brother he had stolen his pocket knife a time or two, putting it back in his brother's room a while after he'd realized it was missing. From his father...it was very rare..but once after a harsh beating he had stolen his father's horse whip...he kept it for a week without word and before returning it he had put several small cuts in the whip hoping it would break and force his father to give up on the cruel weapon.

He left home at the age of 13, running away after he had finally been caught trying to steal from his brother. He had seen a spark in his brothers eye he couldn't stand...he had punched his brother square in the face before he had time to think and realize the reaction that would give his father. All it had taken was a moment to see his father's face...the anger in the eyes...it was like dumping a bucket of ice water on his head. His father headed in the direction of the lash and before Kibaki realized what he was doing, he was already out the door and running as fast as he could manage away from his father, his family, the home he had grown up in.

A little over a year passed before he met his friend...a wolf pup that he found by itself, it had ensnared itself in some vines and was trying to chew his way through them. Kibaki helped the pup escape, stayed with it for a day to make sure it would be alright then headed off. The pup followed after him...and sense then they had travelled together.

Anything Else We Need to Know?:
Nope, onto the next char

Name:
Original name: Zalon
Kibaki named: Drifter
Species: Wolf-demon
Age: 6months
Mature at age: 3yrs or so
Appearance:
Looks like a normal wolf. A coat of primarily black but mixed with white fur that gives him a dark gray appearance. The tips of his ears and tail are the opposite with mostly white fur and a few dark fur mixed in..giving it a softer grey appearance. His eyes are a vibrant blue shade. Lean body of a halfgrown wolf, perhaps a bit smaller than a normal wolf but due to age only time will tell how he turns out. His right ear about midway down has a small tear in it, only really noticable if you run your hand along it to feel the spot where its split.
Personality:
Generally keeps up an attitude of tolerant friendliness...wagging his tail at comments directed at him, pricking ears to show signs of interest. However for his young looks most often he lacks all the playfulness a young wolf might be expected to have. At times though....a bit of playfulness appears...perhaps a bit of Kibaki's carelessness attitude has rubbed off on the young demon wolf.
To strangers he stays very formal, and generally tends to move protectivly closer to Kibaki.
Abilities:
He has magic...though so long as he stays with Kibaki its mostly drowned out. If he wants to try focusing he can talk to other's mentally...but he can't communicate with Kibaki...blocked by that magic resistance.
Zalon/Drifter can also create small chunks of ice...or a layer of ice where he lays his paw. This includes creating a layer of ice around things like small rocks...anything larger than a rat would be too much however. Again however...while he's with Kibaki this power is also muted.

Zalon's claws are far sharper than they first appear...easily able to leave gashes in hard surfaces such as rocks.

Mask scent: he has the ability to make his scent..its also magically done..so he doesn't bother wasting energy trying it around Kibaki.

Disadvantages:
Disadvantage for ice: No fan of fire....the damage done to him by it is basically doubled what it would do to a normal creature.

Disadvantage for masking scent: takes energy to use, will tire out in about ½ the time it would otherwise take.

Disavantage for sharp claws: His sharp claws arn't as quiet as a normal wolfs soft tread on the ground. On rough surfaces such as rocks or brittle surfaces such as a pile of leaves one might here signs of his presence with a *click click* soun or the shuffling of leaves.
Demon wolf that he is...he is still young and learning...his fighting abilities need to be honed

Family:
His entire pack is dead...Zalon was the only survivor

History:
Zalon had been born along with 3 other pup's into a small pack of demon wolves. He was only 6 weeks old when he had commited the unthinkable act of hiding when a herd of unicorns had attacked. It had been a clash of good against evil...the demon wolves had lost...and from a clump of bushes the young pup had watched as he became the onlly living member of the pack. He never forgot that moment...nor did he plan to run from any pack again. His demon heritage made him lean more towards evil...but instincts still strongly suggest loyalty to pack.
He spent four days trying to survive on his own...his ability to hide his scent being the only thing saving him from predators at his young age.

Kibaki had found him entangled in some vine's...and after helping him escape them Zalon had decided to stay with him. Alone was no place for someone with a pack mentality....though Kibaki was far from what he would have ever expected to look for in a pack mate.
The boy didn't have the evil desires that he felt...but he suffered himself to try and ignore them for him.
When he realized how fully his magic was drained from being around Kibaki he spent time telling himself when he was older he'd find a different pack...something more fitting his personality where he could use hsi magic...but in the end...he chose to stay with Kibaki. Kibaki was nice to him...which was fascinating...and he had betrayed a pack once...he wouldn't do so again. It was clear to Zalon that Kibaki needed him...the boy was alone and needed a pack as much as Zalon did.
Thus Zalon imagined it was fitting the change of his name. Zalon was the wolf pup that had been raised by an evil pack and had then betrayed that pack...Drifter was a wolf who was raised by a boy with a kinder spirit..and a wolf that would never betray a pack.

IC Section now:
Kibaki and Drifter roamed a game trail they had found in the forest. The main sound heard being the crunching sound of foot against snow. Occasionally Kibaki would reach down to run his hand across Drifter's coat.
"So Drift...what shall we eat today? I guess it's up to you since you are the best hunter between the two of us. In this weather I imagine its just whatever you find..."
A flick of the ear to indicate he had heard Kibaki but kept his pace evenly with him. Kibaki liked believing he had taught Drifter commands like he were a normal dog...Drifter imagine he'd wait for the 'command' to go hunt down some food.
"That rabbit you found yesterday was pretty good...but between you and me it sure didn't last too long...something a bit larger would be nice...or just more of it...maybe some fish.."

Rustle ... Rustle ...

It came from somewhere beyond the hedges. Well, so to speak. Bushes in the distance began to shake, rattle, and roll. A few stray dead ones fell off, scattered to the cold, frozen terrace. Snow had accumulated on the ground from last night. Whatever was disturbing the fauna was also disturbing the white powder, and that also drifted below. Bits and pieces landed on hard soil. But even more struck and rested upon the moving back of something large and black-clad sticking up from the leaves and twigs. Whatever it was, it was huge. Not huge in the sense of a giant, but huge if you considered that whatever, or whoever, was not too far away from the strangers entering the Woods ... He, she, or it was hunched over. And hunched over, the figure was about four feet. Head and neck were not visible, as both were concealed. So were the legs, and the arms. And anything else that may have been attached ... such as claws. If it had any.

Rustle ...

But there was a definite smell of metallic hemoglobin filtering into the atmosphere: freshly-spilled blood. That was usually never a good sign. Grunting noises; Rips; Tears ... indicators that the slayers, the hunched figure, was rather enjoying him (or her) self. Back to the wolf and his master, oblivious to their presence ...

Drifter's head snapped into the direction...and smell..right away, ears flicking forward. Well...that would certainly last a while..but uh...somehow he had a feeling it would be more likely to make a meal of him than vice versa. Pride of course made Drifter hate the idea of showing these thoughts so he took a few steps towards it...but not to many. His nose worked frantically trying to determine what it was over there.
Kibaki glanced up a moment after Drifter, he wasn't scared just...wary. Kibaki was no excellent fighter by any means...he could fight he imagined..who couldn't? However..whatever that thing was could probably rip him to shreds. Drifter was his best shot...and the wolf was still just a half grown wolf...what chance did it have?

The thing was...what if it...wasn't dangerous as much as it looked? It could be a scavenger getting the remains from something another had killed. It was just..a really large scavenger if it was one. He looked to Drifter and shrugged, not wanting to speak suddenly but really wanting to know his friend's opinion. If it could be chased off like some scavenger's...they could have a nice meal possibly...but if it wasn't so easy to scare...well he didn't really want to die.

Drifter had hoped Kibaki would decide to leave...when he didn't Drifter imagined he needed to check things out first. Slinking closer towards the bushes he tried to make a wide circle around to get a look at the creature without it noticing. Maybe this is why he hadn't smelled any rabbit...maybe this monster had chased the game away. If he got out of Kibaki's sight range likely he'd be able to use his magic...but what if the creature had magic? It was very likely to be stronger...but hopefully not as fast as Drifter. Drifter imagined this was all a very bad idea...still..onward he moved trying to get a look at the creature.

Kibaki watched, feeling bad he was standing still but knowing it was actually more helpful this way. He risked a step or two closer but then stopped. His steps were louder than Drift's and he didn't want to give them away.
Carefully Drift...he thought...please don't get yourself killed'

It was mad difficult to tell who, or what, the thing was from a distance. But as Drifter cut the feet separating them into inches, he would probably be able to pick up on quite a few distinct fragrances. One in particular was the stench of human kind: the peculiar aura that hung in the air when a two-legger walked by, the same that clung to every man, woman, and child on Earth. The second ... was faint, barely there, but nonetheless existent. It was putrid. It was cold. Crying of slaughtered corpses and bodies left out in the sun for too long, it was distinct decay. Of what, though? The predator? Or what was being fed upon? It certainly lingered the strongest about the 'human' hunched over, black back turned towards strangers: wolf and wide-eyed man alike.

As Drifter came closer, the movement suddenly ... stopped. Silence ensued. For a long while there was nothing to break it. Not even a breath.

And then the shoulders of the black back straightened, and the head lifted. Turned out the black back was actually a leather trench coat, high-collared at the base of a red, crimson neck which was attached to an equally crimson face. A mop of bleached blond hair topped the skull off. Slowly, the red-skinned thing turned its cranium, pale, milky eyes coming into view ... searching for and then finding drifter, its gaze fixed.

Her gaze fixed. Contusions along the chest, covered in a black tank-top, indicated some feminine properties. Three shock-yellow bangs jumped from above the forehead which had no eyebrows. Lacking protruding lips, nose bridge so unpronounced that the slitted nostrils were the only indicator that a nose existed ...

Those eyes, white and glazed enough with the glassy reflection of pale blue eyes beneath the haze, stared and stared. Finally her maw twisted into a grin, all sharp, pointed teeth gleaming into view. They were stained with red. The same red that dribbled down her lips, dripped off her chin ...

Held in the woman's hands, of which all fingers were tipped with long, gnarled yellowish claws, was half of a rabbit. It was obvious now what the blood came from. And from the way she hissed at Drifter ... it was obvious of who she was planning on going after next.

Drifter and Kibaki had seen many interesting creatures and accepted them as normal if not sometimes new or unusual to their eyes. However, as the creature stood up so Kibaki could see it he felt a cold shiver of fear run down his spine and throughout his body. This was not something safe...this was not a thing to be near. He had almost asked Drifter to look into it...what if Drifter..."Drift...c'mon...get away from it!"

Drifter felt it was wrong...like nothing had ever been wrong before. He may be a demon-wolf and thus suppose to be more alright with things that were evil by nature...but he had no care for this thing..it smelled wrong, of course the face he was making at him didn't help. He felt fear, but he kept that from interfering and snarled at the creature showing all his fangs. Was it fear aggression? Well a mixture of that and pride, he did however take a wary step back. Indecisive on listening to Kibaki or fighting this creature that challenged him...that he had decided shouldn't exist at all. Some demon creature he was...this thing seemed to reek of evil in his mind...yet he wanted it dead almost for that very reason.

Kibaki started to take a step forward, but fear kept hiim from running to protect his friend. What a coward he was! Another slow step taken, then with a shudder he picked up a rock and threw it at the creature to draw his attention...it would give Drift a chance..hopefully...hopefully he wouldn't try and fight it.

The response to the bearing of the teeth was, of course, a return growl. The red-skinned woman tensed up, all muscles taut. Eager and willing to spring. Those claws, they flexed ... even with the half-a-rabbit in her hands. She lost her grip on the corpse. It splattered to the ground, blood dripping here, there, everywhere. Grumbling lowly she hunched over even more and her legs, they straightened out behind her, bent slightly at the knee ...

And the rock went flying, just as something silver and brown blurred into the area, appearing so quickly that wind actually rolled gently behind it with the passing of a body into the locale. "Hey Scar, have you seen- ow!" The rock smacked her in the back of the head. One gloved hand rubbed the sore spot. "Oh hey ... that hurt ... "

Instantly torn from her new fixation, 'Scar' blinked. Those wide glazed eyes suddenly became coherent. "See wut nao?"

Drifter considering trying to dart in and get the corpse then bolt...an excuse to run off without fighting. The problem was that was more likely to get him nailed than to risk fighting.
It was gonna spring at him! He shifted as low to the ground as possibly why standing, lips twitching, trying to curl them up as far as possible...offering his own equal snarls. Damn he wished he was full grown and more impressive to look at...he wished Kibaki didn't screw up his magic somehow...either of those would make him a lot happier.

His ear flicked towards the new person that appeared, and he jerked back a few steps wanting both people in his sights. This one knew the creature...sounded friendly with it...though he didn't seem grotesque as the other.

Kibaki winced as the rock hit the wrong target...where the hell had that one come from? However...Drift could really be in trouble so forgetting the fear he ran forward to try and even the odd's. No one had attacked yet so Kibaki just ran to stand beside Drifter and eye the two warily. His hand went down to run across Drifter's fur...more to try and build his confidence than anything. "Who are you?" His eyes glanced towards "Nao..? Nao..." hopefully that was his name.."tell your friend not to try and eat my wolf." He could have added on or me...but he didn't particularly want to give 'scar' the idea. Of course that would sound really great if Nao wanted to kill them also.

"'Nao'?" She continued to rub the back of her skull. Damn, that smarted ... "It's, uh ... a mispronunciation of 'now'. More mewly, childish sounding. That sort of thing." Green eyes, the left one vibrant and the right one milky, glanced from one creature to the other. The first looked human. But had horns. And huge eyes. The second could easily compensate as a pup - dog or wolf, who knew? She'd seen huskies that looked like lupines ... Ah, wolf. Wolf pup. "Eat him?" A questionable glance towards the red-skinned woman caused the other to grin widely.

"Dey's were by me's when I was tryin' ta eatsies n' stuffs." The tailed woman leaned forward a little to see what the red one had actually been nomming on. It shouldn't surprise her ... But at least it wasn't a person. That could be bad. Licking blood off her claws, she continued. "Doggehs taste gud."

The other side. "Scar, ya really gotta learn to keep yer stomach from controlling yer motives." Turning now, the silver-tailed fae faced wolf and humanoid with an apologetic look. "Sorry about that. She doesn't have much self-cotrol ... " There was a pause. Then a shrug. "I'm Nay. That's Scar. Who are you?"

Kibaki felt a wave of relief as it seemed there wasn't going to be a fight. However, by that grin Scar gave on the 'eat him' comment it was apparently a lucky thing that Nay came along.

Drifter backed off a few steps but his eyes wern't ready to leave Scar quite yet. Eat him! Hell no...he'd disembowel it...chew through its neck..shatter its bones...or run farther off and turn it into an icecube! Insulted pride had him glaring at the thing even if he had quit showing off all his fangs. He'd gone from not wanting to risk a fight to now feeling a desire to fight for his hurt pride...or at least show he still wasn't scared to fight.

Kibaki watched Drifter take his steps back, and how he continued to eye Scar. "Calm down Drift...it's alright now." Kind of...more than likely. The creature was still kind of...creepy.
"Nice to meet you Nay..and you too Scar." Might as well be pleasant to both. "I'm Kibaki, and this," nodded towards the sulking wolf, "is Drifter. Oh..sorry about the rock." He thought of adding on it wasn't aimed for him but...how would Scar take that?

Now here was a predicament and a half. Here were Kibaki and Naira trying to calm the whole scenario down. In the meantime, Scarlet was grinning at Drifter like she would stare at a freshly-grilled hot dog. It wasn't that she didn't hear what they said ... or Naira's warning ... or the innocence of the new kid on the block. But she was still hungry. Juggernaut had an insatiable urge to feed on almost anything that had veins and blood. Even if her stomach was bursting. Like a zombie who's head had been sliced from the body: it still gnashed at the living even though it lacked the stomach to digest.

"C'mere, pup - "

"Scar ... " When the V-ACT 32 looked up to the silver-tailed woman, she had a very rejected expression. "Leave them be, eh? They're new to this place ... Give them at least a day or two before you decide to terrorize them."

"Maybe." And there was the shark-toothed grin. It reeked of pure malicious intent. "Maybe ... "

This earned a brow raise from Naira. Scarlet had been acting odd for a while now. She was more wild. She was more feral. Even in the presence of others ... Was it because of the missing serum? The lack of control over that inner virus, rendered dormant for so many years ... was it becoming active again? The blood on Scarlet's face seemed to suggest so. They would need to do something about the situation soon. But the problem was ... that Scarlet's body was becoming immune to the antivenin. There had to be another way ...

A rock? "Oh? No worries." Naira pressed against the bulge on the back of her skull with a slight grin. "Suppose I deserved it for busting in like that ... Oh!" Right, they were newcomers! "Welcome to Deep Forest ... what brings you here?"
"We all change, when you think about it, we're all different people; all through our lives, and that's okay, that's good, you've gotta keep moving, so long as you remember all the people that you used to be."

Drifter had just nearly accepted Scar’s comment and attack…pride can only take so much you know…but after one paw moved forward he paused and tilted his head towards Naira.
“Drift…c’mon back down.”
Drifter imagined that was enough to let him ignore Scar without feeling quite so much the…coward. He sat down with one last show of fang’s to the creature.
Kibaki wasn’t overly happy with the creature’s thoughts towards Drifter being a meal…but as long as it was under control he imagined it wasn’t the end of the world.
"Welcome to Deep Forest ... what brings you here?"
“Thanks,” he offered a smile that appeared much more at ease than he really felt, “Drift and I have just been roaming a lot lately…and this is where we ended up today. We just stopped here to uhm…meet your friend. Actually…I think Drifter was probably thinking of swiping what’s left of Scar’s lunch…though I’m guessing now he won’t try it.”

" ... thought I'm guessing now he won't try it."

Naira glanced down, then towards Scarlet. Yeah, that could be a problem. Friendly though the V-ACT 32 may be once she has gotten to know somebody, giving up a meal was like taking away the lung in a living person. Especially now, after the time jump and everything ... Enunciating Nemo's hypothesis, Juggernaut nodded her sharp-toothed skull up and down. Going after the rabbit half would likely end in disaster.

"There are plenty of other rabbits where that came from, at least." Rubbing the tip of her chin, Naira was left to ponder. "And there's a river in the east. Despite the partially frozen surface, you could catch quite a hefty load over there. I'd be more than glad to lead the way, if you'd be interested." Now brimming with strange, raw excitement, Naira grinned. "I've got a lot of fishing supplies. Hook, line, and sinker."

And Scarlet, well ... she went back to finishing up on her meal. "Salmon be's good ... "
"We all change, when you think about it, we're all different people; all through our lives, and that's okay, that's good, you've gotta keep moving, so long as you remember all the people that you used to be."

Kibaki felt a bit of relief in knowing there would be plenty of other food opportunities besides Drifter swiping the corpse from Scar.

"Fishing doesn't sound like a bad idea at all really."

Tilting his head down towards Drifter, "Alright? No need to swipe a half eaten corpse...we haven't had fish for some time now."

Drifter made a very deliberate show of stretching out as he stood up, then started walking in an eastward direction. He glanced back to see if the others would follow. Drifter imagined for all he played a dumb wolf around Kibaki, even a dog can learn the meaning of some words.

Kibaki watched his wolf head off then looked back to Naira. "your friend...won't try to eat Drift right?" A glance then to scar, "my apologies, imagine I should be asking you...Drifter is my friend, not a free meal, so I'd appreciate you not trying to make a meal of him."

((OoC:

Hello, Welcome to Deep Forest!

Your characters look like fun, but I just need to ask for some clarification on a few points:

Can you provide a little more detail about Kibaki's improved vision? How well can he see? You might compare it to a human's standard vision or give an example of how far away he can see. Also doesn't have any sort of disadvantage listed for this ability.

I have a few questions about the Magical Resistance that I need to discuss with the other mods and I will get back to you on it. Mostly it seems okay, but the fact that it effects other players in the vicinity could be a problem. You might want to limit how close one needs to be to him to be nullified or you will have to check with players before allowing their character's powers to not work. Again, I will check on this and get back to you.

Also, since this power seems to stem from Kibaki's disbelief in magic, would magic begin to function correctly around him if he were rendered unconscious or if he were asleep?

Could you also elaborate further on his pain tolerance? How much pain is he able to endure? Does he simply not feel it at all or is he able to tell that there is pain and it just doesn't bother him? Also, please expand on how this causes problems for him as a disadvantage.

Could you add a disadvantage or, perhaps, a limit for Kibaki's agility?

The thick skull looks fine, but you might want to move the bit about the rest of his face and body down to disadvantages just to be clear about it.

And, lastly for Kibaki, does he have any disadvantage to his thievery besides the other player's awareness? You might want to separate that part also, for clarity.

And for Zalon/Drifter:

I know his powers are muted due to Kibaki's presence, but could you please provide disadvantages for his powers based on how they would be if Kibaki were not around? Because if Kibaki's nullification is somehow taken out of the question, we just need to make sure there are still limits to his powers, and also just elaborate on the magic itself. This is for both the ice magic and the scent-masking.

Could you also please provide a disadvantage for the sharpness of his claws?

That's all for now, if you have any questions or concerns about any of these requests, feel free to PM me and I will be more than happy to provide further guidance or answer any questions.

Please make any changes in the original Bio using the "Edit" function and highlight the changes with a different color using the tags so that we can find them easily.

Other than that, please continue to RP and have fun!

Kibaki's inquiry made Naira look between zombie and living human with big, wide eyes. She seemed to hesitate, pondering whether it would be a good idea to lie ... or better to come right out in the open. But in all her life, those lies accumulated. They always came back to haunt her. And wouldn't it be suckage if suddenly Scarlet ripped off the wolf's head even if Nay promised no harm would be done?

So the answer was a shrug. Sheepishly, she told him, "I guarantee nothing. Scar's a wild card - I can't dictate her actions."

"Damn straight!" announced Juggernaut. She was on her feet, heavy boots plodding across the landscape and towards Drifter, though she perpetually ignored him. Her mind was on her words. And her food. Half a rabbit was smushed in her mouth. The other half was still twitching, warm, in her claws. "Ain't nobody tellin' me wut to doooo."

Also stalking past, following Drifter, Nay whispered to Kibaki: "But she tends to listen if you're very stern. Plus, I'll be there to hold her back should she flip out."
"We all change, when you think about it, we're all different people; all through our lives, and that's okay, that's good, you've gotta keep moving, so long as you remember all the people that you used to be."

(I'll edit the profile tomorrow...I started on it but gonna fall asleep on the computer if I don't stop...so some updates now..and more tomorrow evening)

Drifter's ears were flicking back and forth like crazy to try and keep up with the sounds ahead of him but at the same time rather wary of the creature following behind him. Smelling the rabbits blood only enhanced his own appetite. He kept heading eastword, trusting someone would tell him if he needed to change course, and trusting his nose to find the way to water.

Kibaki's eyes followed Scar's as the juggernaut walked past him, looking warily at it as he contemplated Naira's reply to his question. 'no garuntee' didn't make him feel all that hopeful towards her friend not trying to eat his wolf. "Great..." Damn...he didn't want to be on Scar's bad side at anypoint.
Kibaki had started to follow after his wolf and Scar but paused at Naira's whispered comments. He nodded slowly, feeling a bit of hope and relief at that. He and Drift could always just try and leave them technically...but it wouldn't seem right to leave on such bad terms. Kibaki would feel better knowing the juggernaut didn't think Drifter was a possible meal should they ever meat again. "I can work with that. Thanks."

Even in the quiet like this, there were many things to be feared. Scarlet was one of them. One had to keep close watch upon a woman who's loss of control was becoming greater by the day. Hunger gripped the vestiges of her mind nearly 24/7. It would take a lot of work to keep her sane, within the realms of reason and reality. Currently she was drifting in every other direction but the right one. A flitting of noises erupted in her mind from time to time, often nonsensical but firm, definitely, in one way or another ... real. Things of the past. Things she'd forgotten. Things she'd never really known to begin with ...

So as Scarlet walked, she swayed. Her eyes were wide and wild. Erratic. That was why Naira walked past Drifter, alongside Scarlet within a hair's length of her shoulder. Should anything happen - any sudden movements, an uncontrollable seizure of rage or sadness - Nemo could snag her V-ACT comrade and try and calm her down before any harm was inflicted upon those around.

In the meantime ... trickling. In the distance. It was a soft noise, minimal indicating a substream = the river itself was much louder. Regardless, they were close enough to a fishing area. Naira nodded, tail twitching as she encouraged them to follow. "Just a minute longer ... "

Indeed. A minute went by. And before them lay a small stream, coated with ice in most places and exposed in others. Beneath the surface swam fish - small and large alike, as long as they could fit in there and swim it was all good.
"We all change, when you think about it, we're all different people; all through our lives, and that's okay, that's good, you've gotta keep moving, so long as you remember all the people that you used to be."

Drifter didn't like the way Scar smelled...he wouldn't care if its persona was gentle and kind...he planned on never trusting that one. Were Drifter injured and needing help he'd prefer to be alone and take his chances than having Scar there to watch over him. Drifter's ears pricked up as they heard the sound of water, his trot increasing in stride.

Kibaki kept up with the group, staying just a few paces behind Drifter. Scar was...puzzling. Could something that dangerous really be kept under control by just giving out firm commands? It apparently worke for Naira.

When the stream came into sight Drifter paused for a few seconds before taking off at a swift lope heading straight for the ice. Ice! Ice! He ran straight onto the ice, his claws leaving little grooves in the ice as he ran. A few strides in he made some very interesting leaping patterns as if going through deep snow as several parts of the ice suggested cracking beneath him. It was times like this Drifter failed miserably at trying to act like a mature demon-wolf.

Kibaki watched Drifter run out onto the ice. "He gets rather excited whenever we find a patch of ice. Craziest thing. I never heard of a wolf, or any canine, getting so excited over ice." A slight shrug and wave of his hand, even if the others were in front, "but he's loving it. Once he's calmed down he shoul actually help at catching the fish."
