Hunting (UBER-OPEN)

Post by W01fDem0n »

The light, cool rain sprinkling onto Kota's white coat was ectasy to her hot and shaking limbs as she lay under a tree. She had been running for days, searching for food. But most animals had already run before they has seen her. They were all fleeing from the moss that was threatening to take over the woods. After a moment's rest, she got up, and imediatly began to put her nose to the ground, pushing around damp leaves that might be covering animal scents. Finding nothing, she continued moving deeper in the direction that was away from the moss. She wasn't willing to get anywhere near it and loose her power of telepathy.

The hard trip into the woods had parched Jafger's throat so that it positively begged for water. The dark forest was unfamiliar to her, but her sensitive nose had picked up a trace of moisture in the winds, and she had followed that cool green promise to the rivers edge. It seemed that she had chosen a bad place in the forest to enter, for the trees did not seem to be fairing well. Thick, strange smelling moss climbed its way up the trees, either leaching off the tree itself or perhaps just clinging to it. Either way, she avoided it as best as she could. She waded knee deep into the water and buried her muzzle into the water, enjoying the crisp clean water as much as the green grass she had taken up earlier.<br>

She raised her head and pricked her ears, a soft movement in the woods telling her something was not right. She turned all the way around and studied the woods. Then decided to go investigate. Her eyes did not have the brilliant clarity of the hunter, but she was highly sensitive to movement, and the pale coloring was easy to pick out from the shadows of the forest. She scrambled out of the river and blew a querying note on her horn, hoping the strange animal would not try and hide.
