“I wish that Bloodmaw didn’t have to leave,” Enye mumbled, apparently to herself. The forest seemed immensely larger and more frightening without the zombie of a wolf at her side. Of course, he had warned her even before their arrival to the river that he would have to depart, but the fact gave her no solace now that she was alone in an unfamiliar and rather foreboding forest. Even the river seemed less than friendly, churning obtrusively loud as it ran past her hardly yards away. The young Kalamu abruptly brightened, vivid blue eyes absolutely aglow. For, as a matter of fact, Enye was never alone. 
 
You need solitude to practice anyways, Enye, Allok reminded her. 
 
Enye’s delicate features crinkled in distaste. Magic did not come easily to any Kalamu, but both Enye and Allok were determined that one day she would master the uncertain force. Nevertheless, constant practice and review were the bane of young people everywhere and Enye was little different. Despite this dislike, Enye knew by now just how valuable such repetition was, especially considering just how horribly ineffective her last use of magic had been. With a resigned sigh, Enye plopped onto the ground on crossed legs, folding her newly-healed wings behind her back so that they would not get in her way. 
 
Your lightning would have been more effective if you had rolled it beneath your fingers for a time, Allok informed her, becoming her learned and patient instructor once more. 
 
“I didn’t have time. You know that Allok,” Enye pouted, though she knew the wisdom of his words. The winged girl took a deep breath and uttered the words of magic, “Relámpago, te convoco para bailar en mis manos.” 
 
A small strip of lightning leapt from the cheerfully blue sky to her fingertips where it danced almost gaily. Enye carefully twitched her fingers as the lightning came to them, and the little beam of energy slowly grew, now the width of two of her fingers together and nearly half a foot long. She watched it closely, focusing all her power upon the bolt so that she would not have noticed if one of malevolent intent charged down right before her. But fortunately, she was not unprotected. The eclipse within her used the rest of her ignored senses himself, keeping guard for his young and trusting host as the magic swirled within her.

Seshu peered forth from behind a shrub across the water which was smoldering from being so close to him. interesting Seshu thought. Very interesting indeed, Suxor thought. 
"my god guys, do you have to stop to pick on every single person you see," Haku said. 
Lydeth just nodded in agreement. The others continued to argue in the back of their head while Lydeth slowly walked over to the river and skipped across the rocks. The water on either side of the rocks steaming as he went. In all the arguing no one realized what was going on. Lydeth walked up to Enye slowly and bowed near her. 
 
"Hello I am Lydeth, and these are my brothers and sister," he said as he blushed slightly. "I noticed you using magic, and you are doing it very well. I have never used magic myself, because Seshu forbids it saying we have enough power as it is." 
 
Seshu stopped arguing when he heard his name and took control of the body back. "What do you think you're doing this is my body and always will be get back in your place," He screamed outloud. 
 
Lydeth's conciousness receeded back to it's place in the body and Haku quit arging and took her place right behind Seshu. She took control of the body for the moment and Seshu's body transformed into the body of a twelve year old female, same fire red hair just longer and flowing. "Forgive my brother's they do not have the best of manners. My name is Haku, the one yelling was Seshu, and the one who seemed to like you was Lydeth but he's like that around most girls," Haku explained Pleasently. She put out her hand as if to shake Enye's hand, but slowly withdrew it. "I would shake hands with you, but being of fire I'm not sure if it would burn you or not, I am willing to let you try if you would like." Haku extended her hand once more.

Someone approaches, Allok warned Enye. The Kalamu’s unfocused eyes suddenly settled upon the person before her and she nearly fell backwards in surprise, her silver wings flashing open and the lightning darting up along her arm harmlessly. Enye frantically tried to recapture the lightning as it danced through her feathered hair, but it was too quick for her and suddenly jumped down her back between her wings to extinguish itself within the rich soil. Enye scowled darkly at the mischievous lightning, then returned her gaze to the stranger as he spoke to her in a shy but kind voice. 
 
“Why thanks, Lydeth,” Enye gushed, pleased by the compliment. Training amongst humans, Enye had always been the slow one. True, all admitted that she had the most spirit and the most determination, but the Kalamu as a people were not created to use magic. Enye had had to fight against her very nature to master each and every spell and now at last she received the glory of it, the praise and the knowledge that she had done well and succeeded. It was absolutely wonderful. 
 
Enye stood, but when Lydeth—or so she assumed—began to shout, the girl flinched, the momentum of her wings pulling her back away from him for protection. She could feel Allok bristle within her and knew she had no reason to fear. Allok would guide her if anything went wrong. Abruptly Lydeth shifted, not only verbally but also physically, becoming a firey female. Enye stared, sky-blue eyes wide. The woman—Haku—explained, but Enye had great difficulty understanding. Haku extended her hand amicably, but for once, Enye heeded Allok’s warning about trust. This being before her was simply too strange. Of course, Bloodmaw had been far from normal as well, but at least he hadn’t yelled at her. 
 
“I…would, but I’m not sure it would be safe. Fire isn’t generally my friend unless I summon it myself,” Enye excused herself politely, smiling genially at Haku nevertheless. Within her mind, Allok beamed with pride and Enye couldn’t help but grin at her triumph. Perhaps she would learn elegance yet. “Anyways…what do you mean your brothers? I mean…was it just me or where they…you?” Enye asked, attempting not to seem completely confused and failing drastically. She’d never heard of a shapeshifter, and certainly not one with multiple personalities.

Haku gave a pleasent smile to Enye. It is not often that her brothers would let her speak to others without much resistance but this was different. Haku's power had been growing and storing up whilst she was in the back of the mind letting the others control her body. She knew one day she would be able to get rid of Lydeth and Surxor, but Seshu would be another problem. It was also very likely that the boys did not show their face whilst she had the body in this form, it would after all be quite embarassing. 
 
"I understand," Haku responded when Enye spoke of being careful around fire. "I still fear water, but it is a good thing that my brothers don't, or else we never would have met, would we?" 
 
Haku giggled slightly and withdrew her hand once again. After having stood in one place for a while the grass around her tiny feet began to scorch. The heat coming from their body was growing by the day and none of them knew why. 
 
"Oh my, I had forgotten, we are not physical brothers in sisters," Haku corrected herself. "We are brothers and sister in the fact that we all come from the same place, the realm of fire. We all inhabit the same body, and are unable to part for it would put too much stress about us and we may burn out." 
 
The hair returned to short and the face back to that of Seshu just long enough for him to say, "Yeah, but I really do wish you would all stay out of my mind" 
 
(ooc: yeah it has been a while, but this thread looked like fun, sorry it had to be seshu though <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/tongue.gif ALT=":b"> Cartaos kinda stuck atm... lol, and my only real goodie isn't accepted yet)

Haku smiled at her and despite Allok, Enye allowed herself to relax. Somehow it was difficult to remain on guard against someone like her, someone whose mere smile indicated a warm amiability. But then again, perhaps it wasn’t just the woman’s expression that made her seem warm. Despite the intensity of the summer, it somehow seemed even hotter in the woman’s presence. Then again, hadn’t she said something about being made of fire or something like that? Even the grass around Haku seemed to be burning. Enye brushed her long fingernails through her feathered hair, preening the silver-to-blue strands absently. 
 
The young girl listened intently, nodding slightly when she thought that she had a basic understanding. It was quite odd, certainly, but who was Enye to judge? After all, she’d seen neither humans nor Kalamu since her arrival here; likely most found her just as unusual. So, they were four entities bound within one body. It was really an interesting concept. In fact…it almost seemed similar to her relationship like Allok in a ways. The thought startled her and Enye’s eyes widened slightly. 
 
Are you and I siblings in origin too? Enye asked curiously. She’d never really thought to question Allok or the reason that he was joined with her in mind. Over time, Enye had come to realize the fact that none of her friends had someone helping them out—unless Allok was some sort of conscience—the girl had never worried about him. He’d been with her since before she could remember and there had never been any need to dig deeper than that. 
 
Allok did not immediately respond. In a manner of speaking… the eclipse replied slowly, wary of upsetting his host. It had taken him years to build up this trust with her, one would have thought he would have come up with a better excuse by now. Silently, where Enye could not sense him, Allok cursed the fiery entities before them. It is…difficult to explain, Enye, Allok procrastinated. 
 
Alright, Enye replied with a mental shrug, her trust in him held freely. “You know, I’m kinda like that too, I think. Me’n Allok, we’re different people but we live together in one body and he helps me a lot,” Enye told them sociably, now undaunted by Seshu’s brief outburst. Within her, Allok flinched at the admission and Enye blinked. For all her life, Allok had warned her never to share such information with others. But considering that Haku, Lydeth, and Seshu had the same sort of relationship, she had assumed that it wouldn’t really matter. Enye hesitated to say more, suddenly greatly uncertain of herself and the way this conversation was turning out.

"Does this Allok you speak of have it's own form?," Haku asked out of curiousity. "Or is it like us, we all use one form, unless we have the power to change it. Although there are four of us here, only two of us have enough power to change the form of this body." 
 
Haku's body burst into a bright flame and then when the body reformed it looked as it did before. Seshu was now back in control and of course he would not be seen in the body of a female. The body had returned to the form of a thirteen year old boy, but different this time, he had medium length black hair and a small dagger in either hand. He walked up slowly to Enye. 
 
"I don't see what Lydeth sees in you, you're just like every other girl. Anyway back to your friend Allok, Where is he? Can I speak to him? he seems like he may be my kind of person," Seshu said with an evil grin on his face. "Another thing, how long has Allok been with you, 'cause though we are brothers and sister in one body, we were not always together. The others came about because of my need for companionship, damn the need for companionship, I could have lived without them."

Enye’s wings fluttered in uncertainty as the four-in-one entity proceeded to show interest in Allok, Now that she had brought him up, Enye wished she hadn’t. She’d never told anyone about the voice in her mind before, not even her parents and friends back home. Her nerves seemed on edge, though Enye wasn’t entirely certain if that was her own fault or whether it was Allok’s discomfort. Nevertheless, she decided it was best to tell them the information they wanted as quickly as possible so that they could find a new subject. 
 
So at Haku’s question, Enye shook her head slowly. “Not that I know of. He’s always only been a voice in my head and that’s it,” she replied truthfully. Truth to say, she didn’t really know that much about Allok except for the fact that he never left her and he seemed to exist solely to help her. Other than that, there really wasn’t any need to analyze the presence of her closest friend and mentor. 
 
Abruptly, Haku’s body burst into flames, shifting into one of the male forms. He stepped towards her, and judging his expression, Enye guessed he was Seshu. Then he spoke of her, in that snide, disapproving voice, and Enye had no doubt. Her lips quirked. Just like any other girl, huh? Her heart suddenly leapt. Did that mean that he had seen Kalamu girls like her before? She shook her head wordlessly in response to Seshu’s fervid questioning. Allok had only once taken control of her body, and quite frankly she didn’t want to talk about that one experience, especially not to someone as…well mean, as Seshu. “We’ve been together for as long as I can remember,” Enye shrugged vaguely.

Seshu chuckles lightly to himself, this girl though she had many differences from others still looked similar to most he had seen. Except of course for the fact that she had another within her, one who seemed to have as maligant a belief as Seshu himself. Seshu had never thought he would meet one with a malicious an intent as himself, since he was born of the fires of hell themselves. He thought for a minute, this was a useless conversation, he would not get anymore information from this girl. Since there was nothing more he could get out of this girl, Seshu decided to give control back to Haku forcibly. 
 
The body slowly burned from the feet up, transforming as the fire spread, once again back to Haku's body. Haku sighed. 
 
"That is just like Seshu, forcing me to take over when he has decided to give up. I am sorry for all the questions about Allok but we have never seen another with more than one mind," Haku said in her sweet almost angelic voice. "Though I must warn you," Haku paused to make sure Seshu wasn't listening, "the longer you have multiple people in a body, the more stress on the body, and the greater the struggle for power in the end. We have been having disputes about who controls this body for the longest time." Haku's comment was vague on the length but when you have lived that long time loses all meaning. "And I have a great feeling there will be a struggle for power in the near future between us, and sadly more than one of us would be lost." 
 
Haku turned and looked down into the water at her reflection. Again she sighed, "The worst part is I know the ones who will be lost and who will live." Haku was silent now, just staring at her reflection in the river.

Once again the body burst into flames, and this time Enye shaded her eyes from the brightness. Quite frankly, she thought it would be easier to go about in a form that was not truly yours than to worry about burning yourself up every time you wanted your own form. She wondered how in the world they got used to such a means of transformation. Haku’s words assured her that they were nearly finished discussing Allok, if not completely so. Enye smiled; unlike Seshu’s sarcastic and leering voice, Haku’s was so pretty and delicate. She had the sort of voice that would lull a protesting child into the warm arms of sleep. But somehow Enye doubted that Haku would ever be a mother. 
 
However, Haku’s next words were far from comforting. In fact, they were outright confusing to the young Kalamu girl. She’d lived with Allok for all her life and there had never been a single instance in which they had fought. Of course, there were some times when they disagreed, but Allok always made sure to explain things to her and there was no one else she could trust as she did he. Only once, when she had had no idea what to do, had Allok ever taken over, and then only with her express permission. He had nothing but respect and love for her; whyever would he battle her for the body that they shared? 
 
Enye’s vivid blue eyes settled upon Haku once more, reading weariness and harsh acceptance upon the fire spirit’s unique face. How hard it must be to know that there was absolutely no hope. That one day there would be a battle between you and the those that you know so well, to know that only death would settle the ever-raging dispute and leave you wandering alone for eternity if not dead yourself. Enye shuddered at the thought. How completely horrible! 
 
Desperate to be away from this depressing mode of thought, Enye threw her mind out wildly for any other topic. It was Allok, of course, who helped her. “So how do you like this forest? I dunno how long I’m gonna stay here, but I heard it was really dangerous and everything,” Enye said.

Haku looked to Enye as she thought for a moment. The thoughts still ran through her mind of the war that was going to occur in the near future. The war inside their head. She did not want this to happen but there was no way to stop it. She listened to Enye speak. She thought again for a moment, and could not remember any instances where the forest seemed more dangerous than any other place, nor one where the problems weren't caused by Seshu. 
 
"I don't have any memory of anything too bad in the forest. At least not anything that 'caused more than a few moments of conflict. And all of those that I remember were started by Seshu," She added the last part hoping to calm Enye 
 
"Did I hear my name?" A dark voice spoke from within Haku's pleasent complection. 
 
"Oh no brother, please go back to your plotting I'm just having a conversation with this girl," haku said. 
 
"We're still here and she's still here, I would have thought you would have gotten bored with her by now, I have," The voice said again. 
 
It was obvious the voice was of Seshu, but for once the face and body did not change as he spoke. He was speaking from within Haku. Haku just smiled and waited for Seshu to back down again. "Just ignore him, he gets bored when we don't let him pick on people and fight."

Haku was silent for some time before she spoke, evidently lost in thought. Enye shifted uncomfortably, silver wings flickering as if eager to glide beneath the canopy of gargantuan trees. Still a child, she’d not quite yet mastered the virtue of patience. Though it was quite evident that Haku was thinking of something else, Enye couldn’t help but feel that the fire spirit was trying to hide something horrible about this place. The young Kalamu glanced around her. The very trees, practically buried in moss, seemed to ache with pain and sorrow. Then at last Haku responded. 
 
“How did you ever manage to stay together for so long when your personalities are so different?” Enye wanted to know. She’d heard the ridiculous human cant that “opposites attract,” but how in the world could a destructive male and a maternal female—plus that other guy—share a body without having had a major disruption before this point in time? 
 
Enye blinked, startled when she heard Seshu’s voice from within Haku’s unchanged body. She’d thought that he was far too vain to be heard from such a body that was obviously not his preferred one. Besides, he seemed to enjoy that showy form of transformation between Haku’s form and his. Enye mentally shrugged, deciding not to think any further upon it. However, when Seshu mentioned just how boring he thought her to be, Enye scowled darkly. If she hadn’t feared to hurt Haku, she would have shoved some sort of spell down the throat of the fire spirit’s annoying brother. 
 
“He’s like a human,” Enye said suddenly and decisively, as if she had just come to complex conclusion. “They can never live in peace, but always have to have conflict to keep their lives interesting,” she commented with a wrinkled nose. She had spent most of her life living amongst such peculiar creatures, and on those brief times that she had gone to visit her extended Kalamu family, she had been most refreshed and surprised by their serene peacefulness. Then again, she had also become extremely bored. Despite their exasperating quirks, humans were infinitely entertaining. Once one had become accostumed to their rough and tumble lifestyle, it was hard to go back. “But at least it keeps life interesting,” Enye sighed with a shrug.

"I'm not quite sure how we stayed together for this long, I mean we have very little in common and do not get along with each other even the slightest bit," Haku paused for a moment. "I guess we stay together because it is the way we have always been, and maybe in a way fear what could happen if we seperate. 
 
Haku shuddered for a slight moment. It was not easy trying to be the good one in all of this, but it was not the best idea for them to split up either, or at least she thought so. 
 
"You are right though, he is much like a human. I would have thought he would have grown out of it by now, since he is as old at the earth itsself, but it does not seem so." She giggled. 
 
Haku was taking a liking to this young woman. She could easily have spent the rest of the day with her, if Seshu would be quiet that is. Haku took a moment to look around, the place was dark and dreary. She did not remember it looking like this before, but she had also never been to the river as far as she could remember. 
 
"Come let's walk along the river, hopefully to a more pleasent looking place than this," She said as she motioned for Enye to come with her. "The forest was much more beautiful places than this from what I remember, but there are also much worse so we must be careful." 
 
Haku smiled hoping this friendship with Enye would last for many years to come.

Enye bobbed her head in understanding, feather-like hairs dancing with the movement. It was hard to instigate change once one had worked so hard to become accustomed to the way life seemed like it had to be. Such had been one of the many reasons that it had been so hard for Enye to leave her old life behind. But the moment her magic had gotten out of control, the very instant that all those lives had been extinguished…she had been forever changed. The only thing to be done—or so Allok had assured her—was to flee, at least until things had settled down. But the truth was: things would never return to the way that they once had been. Enye was still a murderer, even if it had not been intentional, and her home was completely destroyed, never to be as it once had been. 
 
The thought brought tears to her sky-blue eyes, but she wiped them away hastily as Haku’s attention returned to her. The fire spirit giggled at the joke on her brother and Enye smiled in agreement. “Yeah. I heard that girls mature faster’n guys anyways, so it makes sense,” she commented, remembering the oft-repeated human proverb well. 
 
At Haku’s suggestion, Enye nodded eagerly. The sky seemed to be darker than it had been upon her arrival here at the river, almost as shadows were climbing throughout the forest, devouring the light and innate goodness within. Enye shivered slightly at the thought and glided over to Haku’s side, wings glittering in the meager sunlight that remained. “Hope you don’t mind if I don’t walk. Kalamu legs are more for balance than anything else,” Enye teased, briefly fluttering her silver wings in Haku’s face.
