“Greetings,” said a calm yet deep voice. StarCrosser nearly jumped out of his skin. As he opened his eyes to look for the source of the voice he realized that he was in another place – a very different place. Everything was black! All except a strange white whirlpool-like vortex spinning around several miles above him! Standing before him was a tall shadow somewhat brighter than the darkness around it. “StarCrosser, I presume?” asked the shadow. “Pleased to have met you acquaintance.”
“H-h-how’d you know my name?” asked the shocked unipony.
“I know much about you. I know you’re searching for your friend as well as your past. Now you’ve found new friends who really care about you. You care for them, too. And you want to protect them no matter what. Am I correct?”
“Y-yes…”
“Do not worry, I shall help you all I can. But on one condition.”
“Huh?”
“You must promise to be my friend. Easy, isn’t it?” The shadow raised his right hand. “Is it a deal?”
StarCrosser thought long and hard, but fatigue clouded his judgment. “If I agree, will you help me protect my friends?”
“Of course.”
“Then… deal,” said StarCrosser as he raised his right foreleg to shake his hand.
“It is done.”
“Wait, who are you?”
The shadow leaned forward and said, “I am Abaddon.”

StarCrosser woke up. The darkness had disappeared, and the shadow was nowhere to be seen. Had it all been a dream?

February-21-2008 {past midnight, early morning}
I had a dream where I was at the bottom of a very deep pit. There was light coming from the top opening of the pit but it couldn't reach the bottom. The pit was too deep. And I was right at the bottom, without any knowledge of how I got there or why I was there in the first place. I thought I was all alone until a man emerged from the shadows. It was so dark that I couldn't see what he looked like and could hardly make out his clothing. He seems to be wearing aristocratic English clothes, complete with a top hat and a walking stick. And they were all black in color, making it more difficult to see what he looks like. I was nearly frightened out of my skin when he appeared out of nowhere. It was all too strange to comprehend, but what the man said to me was most shocking. He said that he was the "Angel of the Bottomless Pit" - and that he was looking for a successor! He had wanted to create a carbon copy of himself by finding a person with the potential to be his apprentice. And he believes that THAT person is ME. I was petrified! I refused, but he pressed on. After some quarreling which later turned into negotiating he gave the final offer, "A Partnership." He understands that it can't be forced so he promised to assist me by showing the way and give me a chance to reflect before changing my opinion. After that, my memory became blurred and I can't remember what we talked about anymore. In the end, I raised my hand to shake his, saying my name and asking him for his. He took my hand and said his name in a mysterious, unrecognizable language. But I somehow understood the meaning of his name - it meant "Destroyer". We both shook hands, then I woke up. What have I done?
