Looking for a new home (Lady joining open)
It had taken her at least two days to reach the forest. She left the meadow in hopes of finding a home. She would have stayed with Starcrosser, her new friend, but she really wanted to search out the rest od Deep Forest. Not go and searching for some unicorn known as Gaeva.
So, tredged on through the forest and after awhile of walking around in the dreaded cold, she came upon a clearing.
"It's about time I found this village."She muttered to herself. She walked into the village as she stared up in awe of its masterpiece. The place was beautiful no doubt. She looked around some more and saw that there was a shop, a bar, and people walking about.
She hoped that she can become a member here. It seemed to her that it looked like that she would be living here in the forest for a long time. And she did not mind that one bit at all.
She just stood in the middle of the village lost and confused. She had no idea on where to go or what to do. She had no money or anything to trade with whatsoever.
Perhaps someone would hire her to do something so that she would be able to survive on this world. She sighed and walked a bit more so that she wouldn't like a complete idiot and just stand there and gawk at everything in sight. She looked at the various of places before but didn't dare go in, well not yet anyways.

OOC: Hmm, which character of yours is this? You never say ... Can't reply before knowing that.
Also, just so you are aware -- most of the village is located up in the two huge trees called North and South tree, as described in this thread, there are only very few buildings located on the ground.

Blackback was en route to one of his elven customers, a widow living out on a branch of South tree. The troll, whose shop was down on the ground, nevertheless had to venture up into the vilage proper now and then. He was carrying a loom over his broad shoulders which he had promised to deliver in person once it had arrived from the dwarfs.
Near one of the high crossings -- the place where three huge branches met -- a cluster of elven buildings and businesses formed a little square. Standing near the center of it the troll spotted a woman that he at first mistook for elven before he noticed her tail. She looked around herself with apparent awe.
Blackback paused on his route, looking down on her, without thinking lifting his hand to the hat he no longer had. "Hello there, ma'm." he rumbled, "You lookin' for someone or something in particular?"

She looked up as she heard a voice and spotted Blackback and flew up to him and landed carefully in next to him. "it's a pleasure to meet you, I am Ladyanna Rings. I was just marveling at this wonderful place. Would by any chance know if I would be able to find a home here? And perhaps a job? I have no money whatsoever and well, I'm hoping you help me in right direction." She said while smiling at the person before her. She played with her hair for minute as she was a bit nervous the guy. "What is your name sir?" She asked him.
The troll nodded. "Pleased, I'm sure, Ladyanna." Her constant flow of words reminded him of a certain jester girl. After having opened his mouth to reply several times he eventually paused until she finished. "Me name's Blackback" he said. "Troll merchant of Deep Forest. My wares are the finest you are likely to find on this side of River's Deep. And there's no need to 'sir' me, I'm a troll, not some member of the elven gentry."
He took her in with a calculating gaze. "A job you say? Well, that depends. What can you do?"

What she can do? She hadn't really thought of that at all really. She knew how to fight and stuff. She did once have a job as a waitress at a bar on her home world one time. She was pretty decent at that. She didn't have jobs like her brother Terrain (who was a teacher) or her brother Zennas who worked for the government on Gorbitrus. "Its a pleasure to meet you, Blackback. Um, well lets see, heh I used to work at a bar as a waitress. Do you have those around here? And I know how to fight. But I'm not really sure what I can do. Please, I'll do any job."She really wanted a job and didn't much care for the consequence at the moment.
Blackback tapped on one of his tusks with a long claw, adjusting the heavy loom he was carrying to sit better between his wide shoulder blades.
"Hmm ... A fighting waitress, huh? Well I don't have any jobs like that to offer at the moment ... ... but maybe Juno does. He's a shifty character that runs a bar from his ship down by the waterfront. Maybe you could go ask him if he needs some help. As for fighting, well we are in the process of establishing a small defense force here, but it'll be some time until it is up and running. Keep your ears peeled for opportunities in the future."
The troll shifted his load again. "As for housing, that I can help you with though, if you want it. You seem like a decent enough gal. The elves built many houses in these two huge trees -- many more than there are elves. I think they simply wanted to train their magics, even though they would never admit it... and other houses became vacant as people where lost during the last war. Anyway, if you want a small place to live, I could set you up with one. Not a big one, mind you, but enough to give you roof over yer head."

OOC: As for role, how about I put you down as "doing odd jobs"?

She smiled once more. She couldn't believe how many people were so nice here. It was almost like home, well almost. "Thank you Blackback. And any place would be fine. I could even do odd jobs here. What ever they got going on in here. So who is this Juno character? Whats he like?" She asked him.
"What do you mean many people no longer live here. " She hated that word war.
To her when she was living on her home planet, it seemed like she was living in war constantly day in and day out. It never ended. She stopped smiling for a bit.
"I'm sorry for your loss Blackback."

"Hmm" the troll said, "Well, follow me then, there is a small house off on this very road which I think might work out."
The troll started moving with lumbering steps, balancing the heavy loom on his back, glancing back at her to see she followed, he continued: "Don't worry about it; people come and go and I did not know many of them personally. And some might not even be dead, just ... lost somewhere, who knows in a magical forest like this." The troll pulled a claw through the long hairs at the front of his snout, chuckling. "As for Juno ... well he's a pirate, I guess. Not that I know what a pirate is doing when there are no ships to pirate -- he has the only ship around, and that was possible only because it is magical and could fly in here. River's Deep is a huge lake, but it is not an ocean after all. So his ship is acting as a bar instead.
Juno and I have a deal on distrubutin' my troll ale, Backlash at his bar. He seems like a decent enough sort and I'd think he'd make a good employer. He's somewhat flaky at times, and surrounding himself with rather bizarre friends, but then again who in this forest don't?"
They crossed the square and began ascending in a slope up one of the road-wide branches of South tree. They were surrounded by a jungle of evergreen leaves and smaller branches, deceptionally hiding exactly how high above the ground they actually were. The sky was visible only in small patches above, and there piles of snow had built up on the branch, small mounds of white elven children soon used for all sorts of games.

A pirate? Interesting she thought. She had only met at least two pirates in her long life. She smiled at that. She felt bad that so many people were gone. She wondered why Juno would place his ship on a small lake. Maybe when she meets him she could ask.
She followed Blackback to the house. She couldn't believe she was getting a home of her own. She never lived on her own and it would be an interesting experience.
She smiled at what Blackback said about the lake. At first when she heard of Rivers Deep, she thought it was an actual river, but instead it isn't. Just a lake. Lakes she was ok with, however, rivers she hated.
She shuddered a wee bit at the word 'river' but kept walking with Blackback standing next to him nodding off every now and then listening to what he has to say. She also listened carefully about Juno and his ship. She thought it was cool that he had a ship that could fly.
ale? She never drank much only a couple of times in her life time. It was her eldest brother Karabus that got her to try drinking. She never really liked it but only did it because her brother made her. And told her she'd be a wimp if she didn't. She smiled a bit at the memory.
Black had just said that Juno had surrounded himself with bizarre friends. That was alright with her. She was used to strange people and strange creatures walking about. To her, Juno sounded like an awesome person to meet.
She couldn't wait to meet this fellow. She looked up a bit at the trees, she couldn't believe how many there were. There were never this many trees back at home.
"When was this village made Blackback? And how far do we have to go? Did always live here Blackback?"
She asked her new friend. She wanted to know everything about this place. She was always eager to learn new things. She couldn't wait to get a job. She stopped then asked the troll.
"Blackback is there anything I can do for you in return since you were the one who gave me a new home when of course you did not have to."

Blackback chuckled at her stream of questions, a low, rumbling sound. "No, I did not always live here. I'm a merchant, I have traveled all over with my wares before even setting foot in this forest ... I don't even live up here, my shop is down on the ground, at the crossroads between South and North tree. Ah, here we are. "
The troll pointed a claw at a small house by the branch-road. It was indeed not large, but it seemed to grow out of the tree itself, with green walls and a roof that was covered in moss and snow. A narrow chimney protruded like a finger from its one side. Sun sifted down through the vast canopy above, playing on the elven building. "It might not look like much, but it's an elven house and they build for longevity", Blackback grumbled. From a large keychain he unhinged a metal key. Walking up to the house, he bent down and unlocked the door. "Some of the houses have magical doors, but this one is pretty mundane. You should also be glad you don't have to climb a ladder to get to it. Take a look" And he handed the key to Lady.
OOC: The house consist of one rather small room, with a chimney, You can assume basic things like furniture, kitchen utensils etc are available too if you want. You are welcome to describe the inside of your new house as you want (stuff like colours, decorations, furniture etc), as Lady enters it and looks around. It's her place now after all.

"Its marvelous," She told him.
Lady thanked Blackback and took the keys from him. She wouldn't have minded magical doors, since she herself had come from a magical world. She walked into the room, and noticed that it was bright with orange and red some of her favorite colors. She smiled in delight, happy to have a home of her own and a place to settle down for well as long as she deemed necessary.
Lady walked around a bit and decided to put a hammock on the far left of the wall while the kitchen was on the right and in the back there was a small love seat and one set of dressers. She went to go and sit down in the love seat and started thinking of what she could put in here. Perhaps she could just visit the shops and the people who live here. Maybe even some of the elves as well. Oh she was so excited.

OOC: Ok, welcome to the Village! I'm adding you to the inhabitant list as "doing odd jobs"
You are welcome to continue on in this thread to further describe your home as you wish,

Blackback nodded and adjusted the heavy loom on his back. "Great" he said. "Get settled in and good luck with yet new home. I'm off now, don't be shy to drop by me shop if you ever need anythin' you hear?"
And with those words, the troll nodded and continued on his way.

Before Darkstar could go on with his task for Crimson Fury there was one thing he had to take care of first and that was to find Lady and let her watch over his egg while he was gone for he worried what might happen to it in the days to come. His search for Lady brought him to the forest village a place Darkstar had kept away from and with good reason since such a place had no interest to him really, given that such a social style of living was not Darkstar's cup of tea. When Darkstar arrived he saw a troll living a small elven like house, and if Darkstar was correct this was where Lady was. Grabbing the egg out from his self made satchel,Darkstar knocked on the door of the house.

((*Wonders why her email did not notify her of this reply* Bad email!))
While looking around in her new home, she was so happy to have one and couldn't wait to meet everyone here in the village. She would most certainly have to go shopping at Blackback's store. Well as soon as she had something that she could use to buy the things she needed.
While looking around a knock coming from her front door brought her out of her thoughts. She was surprised to have a visitor already. She shrugged and walked to he front door (which was a milky brown) color and opened it. She was surprised to see Darkstar here.
She smiled at Darkstar, "Hello, Darkstar it has been awhile since we last saw each other. How are you? And Do please come in." She told her friend while she got out of the way to let him in.
She was very pleased to have company already, even if she didn't have everything she needed for her home right at that moment. She wished she could offer Darkstar something to drink but she, sadly, had nothing.

"Yes, it has been a good while since we last spoke, and I am doing well." Darkstar took a step into Lady's house at her gesture to allow him to enter. Darkstar looked around the house for a moment before turning his attention back to Lady. "Lady I have a favor to ask of you, for you are the only one that I know I can trust with this." Darkstar then held up the large egg to her in both his hands. "you seem to have a genuine concern for this egg and that is why I would like you to watch it for me while I am gone, for I will be going on a very dangerous journey soon, and I do not wish for any harm to happen to it."

Lady was shocked that Darkstar would choose her to watch something that he cared about. She wondered what kind of journey he would be going on. She wondered how on earth she was going to take care of this egg. What if it hatched while Darkstar was gone and whatever was inside it would claim her to be its mom or something. She wasn't sure if she was ready for such a thing. If she took care of the egg, she would have to keep it away from thieves and other strange creatures. She smiled and thought hey, it could fun. She had forgotten what Darkstar had said what it was. She wanted to know what was in it. She looked at Darkstar. "I'd be glad to help you take care of the egg, my friend. But I wonder, what do I do if the egg will well, hatch?"
Darkstar pondered her question well at least the one she verbally asked, for he did not need to read her mind to tell she was thinking of a great deal of many other things from her body gestures. Darkstar began to feel like he was getting a strange vibe from the egg like it almost trying to speak with him telepathically, which he found strangely odd since he swore the egg was lifeless. "I don't think you will have to worry about that Lady, like i said before I am fairly certain the egg is lifeless, I just did not want any damage to occur to it was all."

Lady nodded and smiled a little bit. She just hoped that it was lifeless and yet part of her hoped that it wasn't. She would take extra special care of the egg. She may not know what to do with it, but she will protect it from other people want eggs like this one here. She wondered where Darkstar was going and what he planned to do.
It must be nice to go on a great adventure she thought to herself. She liked adventures as well, but right now she really just wanted to settle in her new home. And it looked like 'adventure' would not leave her alone, hence the egg. The egg itself would be quite an adventure as well.
"Would you mind if I held it?" She asked him. "I was also wondering, if I haven't asked already that is. Um, where will you be heading off to? And is there any way that I can contact you? Should something happen while you are gone? She looked at him waiting for a response.
