WotC has already announced this year that they will not be renewing their license to produce Star Wars products for their roleplaying and miniature gaming lines (current license expires in may, products will continue to be available through august). Linky

A: I won't be involved with group lodging (my aunts would beat me if I paid to stay anywhere), but if you give me an idea what you're looking for I can probably get some suggestions for you on cheap but reasonable quality places. Sooner would be better, my sources tell me.

B: If you give me questions and more specifics to work with, I can probably get you answers. I suggest poking me in chat so we can solidify what you're looking to find out.

If we do this in Indy, I think I'm probably going to be playing host in regards to getting everyone together/situated upon arrival. I will be able to pick up people from the airport (or trains, buses, etc.) as needed, as long as you're not trying to show up a week beforehand. I can't provide lodging, but I can get you to whatever lodging you make arrangements for, etc., and you will likely be able to walk to wherever you need to go once you're settled in. Most places are well within walking distance to the convention center. Also of course I can get people to stations afterward, again as long as you're not planning on sticking around for an extra week first.

And stuff.

Anyhow, if nobody else shouts out an extremely good option between now and March 31st, it will likely be GenCon Indy we're off to.
The Grey's calendar informs her it is now March 31st.

The scheming madman who is buried up to his neck in papers most certainly agrees with the Grey's assessment...

And so, folks, it is official. The first ever UVCon shall be held on the weekend of August 5th in Indianapolis, capitol of the great state of Indiana, in the United States of America

Yay official sounding proclamation!

So, now that we know the date and time, people can begin booking days off, informing relatives and plotting transit. I'll get to working, with dd here (as she volunteered her connections ;)) on figuring out the best means of finding habituation while there, and, God's willing, we'll be able to present some options by the end of the month... and the end of the school year (huzah huzah)

So start your planning and savings now, folks, as UVCon is now 127 days away

tickets to GenCon can be purchased at the GenCon website, though I'm not certain what percentage of our time there will be spent at the Con...

Now, if you don't mind... *brushes off portfolio* I'mma gonna apply for a press pass to see if'n I can't save me some monies... plus get the opportunity for some great stories... :P

Hate to say it guys, but I don't think I'm going to be able to come.
Aside from moving to Siler City in June, I have to get everything set up - a job, CCCC courses for being a paramedic in the state of North Carolina, applying to the Rescue Squad ... I'd have to wait until I get some real vacation time before jumping over to meet you all.

Hopefully I will be capable of going to another UVCon in the future. And dragging the boi with me, of course. A nut needs to meet other nuts.

Anyone who wishes to pre-register for GenCon needs to do so either tonight or tomorrow before midnight Eastern time.

Well, if you cannot make this one, there is always next years to plan for and save up for. 12 months or so... plenty of time! I'll likely be the planner for the next one as well, so don't be afraid to solicit me with suggestions and ideas on how to make the 2nd Annual UVCon even bigger :P

And that's that boyles and ghouls... hope you lot had fun there (know I did)... I will try to get some photos uploaded sometime after I get back home (have Saturday and Sunday off, meaning I will prolly be called in to pick up shifts or summat, so... ;)), but aside from that, I would say it was a triumph. I have a note here saying "Huge success". You all know the rest of the song, so fill that in yourselves :P

Anyhow, to anyone who didn't come, I will be starting a planning thread in a similar vein to this one in about 4-6 months, so next year's Con can begin it's planning in earnest :P

Hope to see a number of you there next go around!
