((Oh my it was hard to write this! Thanks for the congratulations... Ugh, I squeezed this out, my Brandr muse has taken a long holiday after NaNoWriMo... We'll see if I ever get the Brandr-book good enough for publishing... *sigh*))

Brandr moved cautiously closer to the berries and ferns, keeping a watchful, icy blue eye on the wolfess. "It never hurts to be cautious." it remarked, watching curiously and slightly fascinated as the female shifted and returned back to her smaller form. That was something he had not seen before.

The smaller size and calming words reassured the nervous equine, and it dared to lower its head towards the food. A sudden outburst made the dark horse jump though, ears twitching as eyes set on the wolf warily, surprised by the crackling sound she had made. Brandr had never before heard something that sounded so much like the fire he commanded.

It had no time to ask questions, because immediately after the noise something broke loose from under the wolfess fur, coming towards it with speed. Brandr froze, keeping absolutely still as what seemed very similar to a Fireball circled its head, acting in a very sentient manner. Much like the bird of flame Brandr was able to summon.

It watched curiously as the fire returned to the wolf, probably its master? And chirped in a cheerful manner.

Brandr tried to concentrate on the wolfess speech, but found itself too busy watching what she apparently called 'Flarza'. More of the odd fire-beings had started to emerge and they all acted very sentient. How bizarre. The berries and ferns lay forgotten on the ground.

"Flarza, you say?" it commented softly, wondering what the function of these beings were. "Fascinating..." The dark equines own inner fire seemed to like the things, wanting to reach out and touch them. Bizarre indeed. Brandr resolved to keep a tight reign on his fire, not letting it out.
