ic: Thorn nodded slowly, still looking around in pure bewilderment. The frost clinging already to his tightly clenched talons sparkled, throwing light in front of him to dance wildly in the chilly air. Deep forest was a highly resonable name for such a place and he would stay here just to see the trees in summer. He skuttled down the branch towards the tree and peered iside a hole. Letting out a squack of delight he stuck his suddenly tiny eagle head through the hole and as the last of his now mouse shape wiggled through he chirrupped happily as he looked about. The insides were old and tarred, as if burnt or definatley used before. He made his way down the trunk scratching at the sides for balance. No longer able to crawl down he took to the "air" as a fly and zoomed by, down to the base. Sensing ground below him he stuck out his feet and made a loud landing as a badger. Sticking a single toenail into the soft wood he enlarged a hole that was chipped from the cold and clambered out, smiling at the watchig griffon. 
His ability had entertained him the whole time that the griffon had been standing there. He cocked his head sympathetically. 
 What do you do for fun around here?

Name: Thorn 
 
Species: shapeshifter dragon. Dragon form is his neutral form but he can shapeshift to any other creature even one he has created in his mind. 
 
Gender: male 
 
Evil/Good: good 
 
Age: 209 
 
Mature Adult at Age: 4 
 
Appearance: Thorn as a dragon is a large winged brownish red dragon with peircing green eyes shot with grey.He has many, many horns on his head, elbows and back. They are all tipped with black. He keeps the same colour eyes and skin/fur no matter what form he takes.Since the horns have black at the tip his fur is oftenm mingled with black on the spots in which the horns are. He also has a black tail tip which stays in other forms as well. He is always quite large when he changes forms and is very strong. 
 
Personality:Thorn is very inquisitive and even tempered. He loves his ability and his freedom. He is very wise and open minded but can be stubborn at times. He has a very free will. He enjoys socializing and showing off. He can be VERY protective. 
 
Abilities: Thorn can obviously shapeshift and he can also mindspeak to others. He is not bothered by any of the elements. 
 
Family: Thorn's family is the Royal Temtrest Cavern Dragons and it is not uncommon that they sent him away at the age of 60. the only members of the group to not leave are the 7 leaders of the group. He came to the forest because he could sense lots of life. 
 
History: well pretty much just the above ^^^^^^^^ 
 
Anything else we need to know about you: I guess the only other important thing is that when Thorn is going through a very powerful emotion of any kind he cannot control his shapeshifting at all. He will simply flick from one to the next and doesn't seem to notice! 
 
A few lines IC (In Character) of your character entering the Forest: 
Thorn's mind was thrumming steadily as his wings caught warm drafts of air among the cold. He felt the cold but it did not feel unpleasant on his thick hide. He could see the forest very close by and had been able to see it for over 3 nights now, on the wing anyways. He was drawn to the place because for such a place of great activity he could sense mental messages of great loneliness. It was from more than one creature who felt this way. He felt the same way so he drifted towards it happily 
Though his great wings were far from tired he wanted to enter the forest in a formal manner and since a dragon was quite not so he stretched his giant legs and touched gently down. His black talons raked the snow covered earth and he sniffed the ground, thinking what he should shift to. 
He lifted his head and began to change. Thick hide transformed to lustrous hair as he stood as a muscular lynx with striking eyes and a black tail. Too intimadating he thought. Beginning to trot to the forest he chewed on his lip hoping an idea would come to mind before he entered the place. 
Deciding to have some fun he tried to shift with every step. Frog, hare, snake, bat, cougar, kangaroo, wolf, unicorn, dragonfly, elf, he shifted into an elephant, a flaming redish one of enormous size and of course, tripped clumsily. 
Laughing at his own foolishness he sat in the snow frowning at the trouble of deciding. Closinghis eyes he decided to turn into the first animal that came to mind. his eyes popped open and he smiled. Becoming an agile, gorgeous red/brown stag he began to lope easily until he reache the summit. Lifting his head to the trees in awe he picked his feet up carefully. Smiling, he let his mind water and soon enough found himelf within hearing distance of someone. Forgetting his whole formal disguise he shifted into a red racoon and crept forward, startling as some bushes ruffled and a shape began to emerge.

A dark blueish wolf walks out from the bush sniffing the ground slowly toward the raccoon. He then rasies his head at the animal with a smile frown "How come you don't smell like a raccoon?" Fear wasn't to happy he thought the animal could be a quick bite and kill raccoon to eat. 
 
A pure black griffin also steps out but smiles warmly at the raccoon "Hello there stanger...I'm Meru...Err don't mind the wolf..." She walks a bit closer "May I ask your name?"

Fear snorted lightly at the now griffin animal if he wasn't food he didn't care. He just sat down trying to sense something else. 
 
The black griffin wacthes him as he forms into a flame coloured griffin and smiles "Oh so your a shifter? That so cool!" She looked over the griffin, his forms were really good but most shifter are right? "Hmmm...so you basely still the same color huh?"

Thorn stepped back as the blue wolf emerged. Suprised at the abrupt question he smiled in pride. Just as he was about to answer he saw a sleek black griffin come forth too. He smiled toothily, eager to try out the new shape. 
Smiling still at the odd pair he said , 
 Hello creatures. To answer your question, I smell not of raccoon becasue I am not a raccoon. I am quite sure you have seen my kind before.  
His greenish toned eyes flashed and he nodded at the griffin. 
 I hope you don't mind..... 
Soon, the raccoon before them stood as an excited brilliant flame coloured griffin. He squaked in delight and pumped his wings, lifting up his clawed feet then settling back down. This would be another of his favourite forms. 
 Amazing! he said brightly to the watching creatures. 
Then, remembering the griffin's question he bowed, his wings extending out to the sides and said, putting on a fake, important voice. 
 I am Thorn of the Temtrest dragons. Shapeshifter dragons that is.  
Then as if to prove he was indeed a dragon he shifted into one, smiling easily and still holding the bowing position. 
 I have never tried a griffin shape before, but I like it very much!

ooc: who will accept me into the forest if Gaeva is gone? where is whats her face ( the white griffon? ) 
ic: The now dragon formed Thorn nodded at the griffin's observation. 
 Yes, no matter what form I take I stay this auborn/red colour. Also my eyes stay the ame and... 
He flicked his tail around so it curled by his front feet. 
 My tail always has some black on it, in a jagged shape, hence my name. The plant my group ate to maintain our strength was the black Thorn and it grows injagged stalks simalr to this.  
He withdraws his tail and assumes the shape of a hawk. Flying up quickly through the branches he stops to perch on a branch, givingan appreciative whistle. 
 What do you call this place? And what torturous thing has happened here? I heard a tremble and a terrible mental message a few days past.

Meru nods to his words "Oh okay..." She watchs him turn into a hawk and flys up into the tree. 
 
The wolf looks up at the hawk boredly "This is the deep forest...and no one really knows what happened or what the loud sounds were..." 
 
Looking down Meru sighs "Yes, Well we don't know I'm sure someone else may know."

(OCC: Died? Oh no! Shadowheart to the rescue! *lands with cape billowing in the wind* Did I make it?) 
 
Ambient silently sat near the base of an old tree. He remembered this place, where he first entered the forest and was kindly accepted by the forest creatures. For some reason he had wandered back here and was doing nothing in particular, just waiting for something to come up. Even he felt the pangs of loneliness once in a while and wanted to talk to someone. 
 
Just as he felt no one would turn up, he stood up and began to head back to the forest when he knocked heads with someone. Greatly surprised, he backed away a few feet to get a better look at the creature. It turned out to be a bristly-looking wolf. He sighed and tried to relax, for he was not used to being startled or sneaked on. 
 
“Good day, there.” He greeted. “I apologize for that. Art thou alright?”

Ambient blinked, then shook his head, and looked this person once more. He swore the creature he bumped into earlier looked like a wolf, but now he found himself staring at a cat instead. 
 
…Mine eyes must be failing, he thought to himself. 
 
“I am Ambient,” he stated to Thorn. “I believe I have not seen you ‘round here. Art thou a newcomer?” He sat down and curled his tail around his snow-white body.

Ambient nodded his head. He was a bit unsure of the means or manner Thorn said when he would ‘receive messages’, and much less on how a cat-type creature could fly with no wings present, but he did understand what he was trying to say. 
 
“Alas, I know not what hath befallen this great forest,” he said. “When I arrived here, not too long ago, all seemed well and good, but recently things changed. Ye can ‘ere thy earth roar and growl, as if ‘twill split asunder, yet it does not quake a bit, and freezing rain threatens to pour, even when thy season unfit for it. And I see many creatures acting negatively to this, so I can safely assume ‘tis not a normal happening in this forest.” A look of disappointment crossed his face. It bothered him greatly to think of what was to come. It wasn’t anything pleasant, that’s for sure.

Obviously the feline wouldn’t know the strange prowess of the creature, and he simply watched in awe as Thorn changed once again. He was still staring after he had come down and spoke to him, waiting for a reply. When he realized what he was doing, he simply shook his head, and his face returned to his normal expression. 
 
“An impressive trick, friend Thorn." He commented and slowly approached the tree Thorn went to at looked up upon it. “Thou can also understand thy feelings of such as well?” he asked, gesturing the tree with a large, snowy paw.

Ambient gave a small chuckle. “Long ago, I’ve always asked meself what trees might say if thou wert capable of speech. Now I know.” He looked at Thorn again, now in a form of a tiger. His new friend was quite the amusing sort and he couldn’t help but say so. 
 
“Thou have thy most incredible abilities; understanding the thoughts of both creature and wood, and shifting thy appearance to any creature of thy choosing. I must admit never before hath I met one with such gifts.” He looked at his paws momentarily. “I, too, can shift in appearance as well, but at a lesser extent, and quite rarely do I need to.” Ambient stood up and circled the tree. 
 
“Mayhaps if thou wert to remain here, thou wouldst better understand thy situation we’re in.”
