Elendar trotted through the dense forest. He was directed that the river was close to around here somewhere. He needed water and would be the first sight of it since home. The sun beamed as rays through clear parts in the forest keeping the dark undergrowth lighter then normal. 
 
Finally the forest cleared and the sound of rushing water filled the air. Coming out through a clearing he spotted a gushing river in front of him. It was crystal clear and pebbles could be seen at the bottom. Walking to a shallow part part of the river he dipped his head down and spread his legs apart for balance. This was the first time he tried drinking in his unicorn body.

Perched on a rock nearby the tall form of the half human dragon warrioress watched with impassive gold eyes at the winged unicorn who stood drinking from the river. 
 
Ascera had removed her helmet and broadsword, but always kept them close to her, and her fire gold and spikey mane gleamed in the sunshine. She settled back, asking herself one more time if she wanted to interact.

Elendar took a few drinks. Then suddenly out of the corner of his eye he saw something glitter in the sunlight. Looking up he saw some sort of human creature on a rock nearby. Raising his head he studied it. 
 
It was certainly something he had never seen before. But cool looking, just like something out of a comic book about super heroes back home. He didn't know if this creature was good or evil so Elendar just stood there. Swishing his tale and taking a deep breath he waited for the creature to do something.

Ascera straightened up and leaned over to pick up her helmet. She slipped it over her head and looked at the winged unicorn. 
 
"I am Ascera. What do they call you?" she asked, her voice rolling in rich golden tones.

Elendar watched her with curiousity. "I am Ascera. What do they call you?" she asked. Elendar straighted up feeling that this creature was of good. "Elendar Skyracer." he said simply.

"Hello, Elendar." She watched him, her gold eyes unblinking. "What brings you to this river shore?"

Stepping forward a bit he focused on to the creature. "Well I was thirsty as you could see." he said looking to the river. "What about you?" he asked.

"My sword needed cleaning," she replied simply, hefting the long blade in her scaled fist. The black metallic blade shimmered in the sunlight, before she slid it into it's leather sheath. 
 
"You look new. How long have you been here?"

Elendar shivered to the sight of the sword and hoped the creature wouldn't use it against him. "Well I just arrived in this world about three hours ago." he said. "I am still trying to get a hang of it."

"I am new as well, from the far Northern Moutains across that infernal wasteland," she said. "From where do you hail from?"

Elendar stood there listening to Ascera. "Well I am from what I guess would be another planet or even realm called Earth. I don't know if this place is on Earth but I do know that I cannot go back." he said.

Surprised somewhat by his response, Ascera blinked, her gold eyes eclipsed for a moment. 
 
She rubbed thoughtfully at the nose plate of her helmet. 
 
"Interesting," she said quietly. "And what made you come here? Or were you forced?"
