(OoC: I dont want to seem the bad guy here .... hey ... i am the bad guy .... but thats not the point, better as, i dont want to be a party pooper here but Emilio230, your character 'Akira' seems to be in this thread and *~The Echoes of Distant Laughter~* one, rules have it that you are only able to rp in one thread at a time, not including the joining threads ... Seeming as I dont like to really just say pack up and leave ... you can pick either thread to leave ... you can leave this one, or you can leave the other one ... if it is this one you want to leave ... (as long as Gaeva isnt watching ) you can make an exit with your char ... so you dont mess anything up with the conversation ... but in the other one, you can just decide to go and ill consider as what happened with your character and mine in that thread, did not happen ...)
Lost in Lost Field...Ironic, isn't it?

Post by Blade Liger »

Astiel ruffled his wings as he took a hesitant step onto the grounds of the Lost Fields. His two little friends, Meali and Silverkitten, had moved to fast for him, so he had taken it upon himself to find the Meadow of the forest guardian Geaven.

This field had an air of uneasiness about it. Not one of danger, more like air of sadness loomed over the space. Astiel’s own body warmth shielded him from the cold, but it was plain to see that this place was one of the more unforgiving places of the Deep Forest. Perhaps some creature would chance to pass him by and tell him of where he stood, and how to get to where he wanted to be.
(OCC: Hello! Is it ok if I join?)

A large white lion bounded through the deep snowdrifts of the vast empty expanse. It was freezing cold here without any of the trees to block out the snow and wind, but Ambient wasn’t bothered a bit. He had been wandering around here for some time, exploring this desolated part of Deep Forest, not looking for anything in particular but just to get a feel for the place. But as he trekked through, he found out he would probably never get to like it at all.

Aye, this land…it screams of pain and death, he thought sadly. What horrible happening hath befallen this place so long ago?

He could feel it. It was a familiar feeling…from long ago. From a past he wanted nothing to do with. No matter what, he just wanted to put it behind him. Visions of his former life formed in his head now and then, and he paused and shook his head angrily.

Nay! Do not let thy mind dwell on such, Ambient! he scolded himself. The past is gone. There is only now, and what lies ahead…

A glint of color flashed off in the distance, and he looked up to see what it was. From what he could make out, it looked like a bird, with a beautiful plumage colored like the rainbow. Naturally being curious, Ambient slowlywalked over to it. It didn’t seem, in any way, threatening, but rather it seemed lost. So he cleared his throat and spoke to it in a friendly manner:

“Greetings, friend. Might I ask what ye be doing here in this cold, lonely place?”
Astiel saw Ambient coming before Ambient saw him. He made no movement, not attempting to hide himself, but not making any greeting either; he was new after all, and for all he knew he had strayed out of the Deep Forest and was in the land of evil creatures that both Meali and Silverkitten had spoke of.

Astiel sighed on the inside as Ambient approached him friendlily. As he had just arrived, he was truly not in a fighting mood. He would if he had to, yes, but it was not something he was looking forward to at the moment.

Astiel raised his head proudly before speaking.

“At last, a good creature comes to my aid. For you see, my friend, I have become lost. But before we go on, may I ask for your name? I am Astiel, a Phoenix.”
Ambient gave a nod of acknowledgement before replying. “Hello there, Astiel. I am Ambient. But…I hath become something a little more, that much I can say.” He didn’t intend on telling his new friend of what he truly was, as he felt it was unnecessary. He studied Astiel with curiosity. He had never laid eyes on a phoenix before, or pretty much any other creature in the forest for that matter, and can only vaguely recall hearing such from long ago.

“A phoenix, thou sayest? Forgiveth me; I am not familiar with thy species, for I am still learning much of this world.” He gestured the icy fields with his head. “Thou art lost? As ye can see, there be nothing to find here. Snow covers this entire area like a blanket, hiding whatever lies beneath it. There be better places to go to than here.”

Akira flew down to the two creatures having a conversation. "Greetings all. I am Akira. This is the Lost Fields, and you two look rather lost. Would you like me to show you the forest, umm, more easily?" She asked. And by this it was obvious she meant from above, as she had begun to hover a little above their heads.

"Thank you for the offer, Akira," said Astiel. "But I believe my friend Ambient here was just about to show me the way. You see, I was the one who lost his way, not he."

Astiel turned back to Ambient.

"Well, my friend, we learn something new everyday," continued Astiel. "As you can tell, a Phoenix is well...me. Hang around with me for a while and perhaps I'll be able to give you a more suitable explanation as to what a Phoenix is. But come, let us speak as we walk. This place gives me chills, and it takes much to make a Phoenix cold."

Ambient watched a strange creature greet them from above. Now this was obviously new to him; a mouse-dragon mix? But it meant no harm in its approach, and that was all that mattered to him.

“Greetings, Akira,” he replied. “I would gladly accept thy offer, but I already knowest my way around. But, if ye wish, thou can join us as we show my new friend through these parts.”

He faced Astiel once more. “Indeed. This would not be the most favorable place in all of Deep Forest, besides the mountains that lies at the other end. ‘Tis full of dark-hearted creatures, or so I ‘eared. But you needn’t worry ‘bout that, for they are far from ‘ere. Now let us away. The path will take us back to the forest.”

Ambient began to move forward, making a trail through the deep, freezing snow. It stuck and seemed to merge with his white fur, giving him the impression of a creature made entirely of snow.
Akira smiled and nodded. "Why thank you, kind sah." She thanked Ambient. She flew above thier heads and smiled. "Astiel? I could, if you like, give you an airial tour of the forest a little later." said she.

"Well, that was a tad bit odd," said Astiel, watching Akira fly off. "She didn't even let me answer. Any-who...Ambient my friend, I have a question for you. This place...why is it so...what's the right word to use...bleak? What happened hear?"

Ambient didn’t reply right away. He thought he was the only one who noticed such. He paused, trying to think of how to explain to his friend his theory.

“I…know not of what hath befallen this place. But, I am quite sure this field hath not been formed naturally. No…something had done away with it.” He turned to face Astiel, a solemn expression on his face.

“Doest thou wish to know what I think of it? I think that a great battle of some sort hath caused this.” Though he tried to keep a serious tone, he chuckled lightly. “Sounds farfetched, does it not? ‘Tis something you’d expect to hear from an old warrior such as I. It abounds this place from corner to corner.”

He turned to continue through the snow. “That is only my perception of things, and I do not expect you to take my word for it. There be two unicorns, if I’m not mistaken, who watch o’er this forest. If thou seekest the truth, thou should seek one of those two, or one of the older residents ‘ere.”
Astiel nodded along with Ambient as he spoke.

"Yes...I feel much death her," he murmured, half to himself. "What you say...it is probably true. The aura that this land holds does not come from nothing. Something dreadful hath come here many long years ago."

Astiel shook his head, then continued.

"Two Unicorns, say you? Well, I do believe that was where I was heading, if they are the ones who reside in the Meadow. Perhaps you will accompany me there, so as me way both learn the truth, and maybe more?"

Ambient smiled as Astiel mentioned the meadow.

“Ah, yes. The Meadow of Peace, one of the safest and most enchanting parts of this forest.” He started to recall his last visit there:

“It matters not, whether rain or shine, summer or winter; its ground remains untouched by the harsh weather year round. A constant sunny climate that warms the hearts of the good ones, for those with malice in their heart cannot penetrate the holy shield that protects it.” Just saying those words gave him an irresistible longing to go there at once. Though the cold never bothered him, the warmth of the sun’s rays and colors and fragrances of the various flowers that grew there was definitely better than this barren, lifeless wasteland.

After a bit of thought, he recalled something important. “‘Tis probably the best place to stay at this time. There hath been strange happenings going on recently, and I see many of the forest creatures hath retreated there.”
"If there is evil in this land of peace, I shall not lay idle in a protected land for long," said Astiel. "Something you should know about the Phoenix. We are not the most righteous of sort, many have been tempted by the dark hand of evil. But when someone or something that the Phoenix loves, be it good or evil, nothing will stop him from seeing it safe. Not even death."

Astiel paused for a moment and looked about the field.

"And I believe I will soon come to love the Deep Forest...even down to the most desolate field."

Ambient nodded, understanding exactly what he meant.

A true warrior, who will fight to the death to protect what he believes in, he thought.

“Ay, ‘tis well and good to hear that from ye.
He had his share of battles. He had seen countless warriors fight and fall under his great blade throughout the years. If there was one thing he never wanted to do, it was to needlessly take another life.

Ambient heard something not far away. He paused and looked around. There was another creature there; a reptile of some sort; jumping high above the snow and landing ungracefully back on the ground. He abandoned his original course through the fields and approached it. From what he could discern, she appeared to still be quite young for one of her species. Upon closer observation, he saw small wings flapping from right behind her shoulders.
"Well, isn't that amusing," commented Astiel, watching Pup bounce up and down. "Reminds me of my own kin...err...didn't mean to reminisce, sorry. Anywho, learning how to fly, did you say? You'll want to spread your wings more, gets more air beneath you, which makes for an easier lift."
