*A Pain Within*

Post by Barbannis »

THe small dragon named Eleem swooped low past the snow covered trees, his wings beating swiftly by his sides and his eyes darting all around. They finally stopped on the entrance of a large cave, the same cave he had been created in, the same cave he had left his master inside.

The small dragon slowed down untill he was at the entrance, he jumped onto the frozen ground and slowly moved along the ground, and into the dark damp cave entrance.

Then he stopped in his tracks, a dark figure leaned up against the wall and moved in the shadowed. The blackened thing shook his head as his arms slowly changed shapes, his eyes bulging with red fire lighting the insides of his mouth,

"I told you not to come back here!" It screamed in a painful voice. The figure slowly stood up and tried to take a foot forward, his form cracked and changed. But then Eleem noticed, the walls, they were moving too, they throbbed and bubbled with a slow hum. It was like some sort of animal skin, but inside out, mostly black. The veins throbbed as some sort of black liquid flowed through them.

Bones and other odd objects flowed within the insdies as Eleem slowly took a few steps back, wondering if he should have even come ...

"I am so close, so close to unlocking it ... they are coming now ... coming to put an end to this ... but i cannot let that be .... Leave me!" He called again, nearly gagging in some of his words.

Eleem shook his head, "But i said i would help you" He said trying to keep his stance. But he then moved to the door of the cave as things began to move more, the walls bubbled as large creatures began to crawl down from the tops of the cave.

"LEAVE!" It boomed as Eleem took flight again, his wings beating hard. He looked back to the open cave, it quickly closed up with stone coverings and there was nothing there. He swooped down the mountain side quickly, wondering what he could do...

OOC
Because the whole forest and it's surroundings is responding I am posting this everywhere.

IC
Suddenly a rumbling sound could be heard in every corner of Deep Forest, startling every creature who lived there. It sounded like an earthquake and already some creatures scrambled for safety, but the earth did not move. Not even the trees moved, though the howling of the wind could still be heard. The two sounds swelled and even the creatures in the Boundary Mountains could now hear it from afar. The ones who bothered to set aside their fear of the unknown to listen closely could hear a third sound, a weeping crying voice that was made out of many silent voices. Deep Forest was calling out in it’s silent magical voice that only one could hear and understand. But that single one was no longer here. ”Come back!” it called out desperately.

From the Boundary Mountains an eery echoing laughter could be heard. It seemed to come from the mountains themselves, from the ground they stood on, but always it seemed to come from far away, yet too close for comfort. Merging with the howling cries, that sounded only like rumbles and wind to the creatures hearing it, it became a melody of doom that send the hair rising on many creature’s back.

***

A different rumble could be heard as distant clouds rolled towards the shocked forest, seeming to appear quite suddenly as none had noticed it before. The black clouds glided quickly towards the edge of the forest, flashes showing it held thunder and storm in it's grasp to releash on Deep Forest. Soon it will reach the trees and the ones who live among them, only moments before it will reach the Boundary Mountains as well. In a season not used to rain, a great downpour was on it's way.
The blackening sky seemed to symbolize something; darkness is coming.

Hello again

Post by FearWolf »

Hearing a horrendously loud, booming voice and something not too far from a landslide, Wildmerow trotted on eager hooves around teh side of the cliff. Keen earws and eyes prodded forwards until he spotted the tiny dragon he recognized from the river. Smiling, he continued towards the creature in a formidable, smooth sailing lope just to show off a little bit. Quite aware of their obvious size difference he went boldly up to it in greetings.
Dipping his head quite low and flaring out his nostrils he opened his mouth.
We meet again little one
Grinning , he let his eyes voice his view of the creature.
Surely it wasn't you that caused that incredible noise? he said in half mockery.

I see said the horse with a simple look of amusement on his face.
Well, if there was no conversation to be gained then he would depart. Though he was quite evil, his soul infested others. He yearned for company.
I bid you farewell then, unless you have something else to tell me? Without a look back he flicked his tail like a large whip and spun on his heels, snow crunching as he made his way around the cliff once more.

Wildmerow cast his eyes in the direction of the fleeing dragon, laughing a bit at the quick flight. Turning his attention to the large humanoid he said, I will stay, so long as you interest me
There was something canny about this fellow, but Erow's thick hide and ripling muscles would be rready for any action.

Wildmerow snorted dissatisfyingly. He sure dropped this one on him.
What would you have me do for starters? You still do not have my vow.
The great horse hoped he could get more information. He knew the deom sort did not have much patience or tolerance. He eyed up the beast and felt a tingling sensation on his neck. He knew at once that this meant he was being watched by another in a more than a glance type of way. Studied? Spyed on? Not wanting to turn his back on the demon creature, whom he was quite suspicious of, he sent a warning mind message to where he guessed the creature was standing. Throwing in most of his effort so he could be heard, he hoped that the humanoid did not pick it up...but he supposed that it didnt matter much anyways.
Stranger, don't thinkI don't sense you. I know you are watching me with impathetic eyes. If it is an ambush you are planning, be warned. For I am ready for it and the harm may not come to me alone.
Closing up his message he tried to read the expression on the humanoid's face. Flatteninng his ears against the wind he waited for a reply, from anyone.

You need not worry. I have no interest in picking a fight with a creature as dull as yourself. My interests lie within the bargain you seem to be striking with this large, and very ugly daemon. Unless the need arises, I shall not lift a claw against either of you... Kato's icy cold voice rings softly through Erow's head, then fades away like a brief breeze. The cat creature smirks to himself and looks from one black figure to another, his ears straining to pick up every noise, every sound around them.

Wildmerow's defense rose sharply and he heated up as the word dull was used to describe him. Then he settled down as the delight of the situation occured to him. For starters, he was happy this creature could pick up on his mind messages and secondly that he recognized him as Kato, the feline from the cave. HE couldn't help smiling as he looked at the demonic creature who seemed to be thinking of a plan for him.
{i] Sounds a little dodgy don't it? [/i] He spoke again to the cat. I wish he would explain so I could either go on my way or join. He seems to be picking through the inportant stuff and leading up to the real deal
Shaking his head he stamped his hoof impatiently sending clouds of white snow up on his leg.

He is doing one of two things then, my friend. Is is either testing your patience like some scheming fool, or he is an idiot and very slow to think. A large brute such as this daemon would mostly like be the latter. Though it is never safe to assume that. If you are impatient for the brute to get to the point, I would suggest you imply that he is taking up to much of your time, and if he does not come straight to the point, you will leave. But then again, that could cost you your life. I would guess that he wouldn't take to kindly to such a...direct approach. Kato smirks to himself as he speaks.

Trying to keep down his anger, something which he usually did not try to hide, Wildmerow spoke, not at all affected by the demon's threat.
Well, since you do not have any further details I suppose I will join for the sake of risk, though I would appreciate details. Very well I will add my voice to your....
he paused and a shiftly smile lit his muzzle
group. Now what shall I do, or will you summon me when the need arises?
A very keen mind might have noticed the ever so slight air of mockery, challenge, and sarcasm that Erow laid on the words "summon me", but most would simply ignore the difference, besides it was expected of most creatures of the horse's type.
He stood there, an awesome site against the spectre grey sky. His mane and tail swirled about him in a coat of ebony hair and his thin goldish fur did not fail him for warmth. The air around his hooves steamed and the snow, or lack there of, at his feet was watery and sparkly.
He pawed the ground and blew a great burst of air through his nostrils and shivered from something quite apart from the cold.

Kato slowly slinks down the rocks of the mountain, his ears picking up on every word spoken. He raises an eyebrow as another huge daemon walks into the area, and pauses on the slope. "What have we here..."

"Hello," Wythe said rather bored with the proceedings. Or he tried to sound bored. Inside he was roaring with excitment, ready to go, ready to fight. He peered up at the creature, wondering the strengths and weaknesses.

Wythe watched them silently. "Three for me, three for you." He snapped, sitting down. "Alright, the plan is thus. If you disagree...let's say I am rarely open for arguing. You are to go grab a youngling...or someone...kidnap them from someplace and take them here. Easy enough, I should presume. You will have no trouble, not nearly as much as me."

He shifted quietly. "I will attack the dragon caverns. The female in there is about to give birth to a dragon clutch. If we grab them, it will certaintly bring all the dragons running." Here he grinned. "And we will have several baby dragons to raise. Any suggestions?"

Wildmerow smiled and gave a snort. He was about to reply, his chest was inflated with the very breath that would have mustered the words when suddenly a horrendous boom sounded from the very earth itself. An explosion occured in his mind of terrible sadness and anger too. It was so strong he thought he could feel every cell in his brain singing in pain.
His front leg bent and for the very first time in his life he sank to the ground. He tried in earnest to close his mental shield but he could not. Out of blodshot eyes he saw the sky darken and he finally got up off his knees. STOP! He commanded in a very loud mental voice. The feeling faltered then faded out. His mind was now clear though it pulsed with the pain. But the earth still shook and the sky remained black.
He looked embarassed at Wythe.
I really cant explain what just happened but please know that I am stronger than that. That was worth than any physical pain could have been.
but anyways I will go find a little one to "gather" while every one is distracted.
Wythe nodded, pleased with this creature's cooperation. They could be a team, if they had to be. "Very well." He agreed. "I will meet you back here, then. If you wish." He flicked his tail and without another word, except a nod which told the creature he was accepted into Wythe's short list of creatures that were worth respecting, he began to trot down the mountain slope, letting the three creatures follow him as they wished. He wasn't very worried about them, they being nothing more than pawns, and he himself confident about finishing the job alone.
