Tenia and Xereve<br>
<br>
The roar of the crowd in the arena was wild as the champion stood alone among the corpses of his challengers. Congratulations were spoken by the King and town crier. As the arena emptied of the champion and his fans, the King and Queen remained looking grim upon the corpses below. Waiting silently the King tapped his fingers upon the chair's arm as he watched the gates. The last of the crowd disappeared it was apparent the wait was over as a cloaked rider on a black stallion walked in through the gates. The King and Queen rose as the rider passed the corpses to stand before them. <br>

"Where is Xereve and who are you?"<br>
Looking slightly deformed under the cloak the rider hissed before speaking.<br>
<br>
"The wizard will be along shortly, I am Tenia. What be your answer to his request?" a cold vile woman's voice hissed up at them. The King looked once more at his wife before looking back at the rider.<br>
<br>
"We'll agree." he fearfully answered. Taking a heavy wooden box from under his chair, he held it a moment and asked, " Xereve will keep his part of the deal then?" the black rider only nodded. The Queen glanced at him before returning her eyes on the black rider again.<br>
Hissing Tenia turned her head to the Queen.<br>

"You doubt me?"<br>
<br>
"You are a demon, how am I suppose to feel when my children are being threaten." the Queen cried. Sitting forward the rider dropped the reins and pulled her hood back. Firey red hair dropped beyond her shoulders. Deep velvet eyes looked up and into the Queen's eyes. A wicked smile crossed upon crimson lips.<br>

"Demoness, I'm female. There is a differance. Now the gems please," she replied. The King squeezed his wife's hand reassuringly and opened the heavy oak box. Inside were twelve of the most percious jewels in the kingdom, each a different kind.<br>
<br>
Satisfied the demoness nodded, looking behind her, the ground rumbled then broke open, a bloodied hoof climbed up, yeilding a demonic red stallion. Holding tight to its back was a very tall and very handsome man. Unlike the demoness, he was dressed in a long black robe, embroidered with runes and signs against holy and magic of the light. Behind him sat a boy unconscious and pale with fear.<br>
<br>
"Xereve!" the King barked suprised as his hand flashed to the hilt of his sword. The robed man, rightly named Xereve turned and took the boy by his tunic and brought him off the horse and held him for the King and Queen to see.<br>
Speaking in the tongue of the demons he spoke to King and Queen. Knowing that they didnt understand the demoness translated.<br>
<br>
"He said give me the jewels and he will give you the boy." she repeated.<br>
The Queen's face looked as emotionless as she could manage and touched her husbands arm. He patted her hand and jumped down the short distance down to the pit of the arena. One hand still on his sword hilt, the King handed the gems up to the demoness. She smiled and backed her horse away from him. Xereve then dropped the boy to the ground. Turning his horse away the wizard rode up beside Tenia and waited as she summoned the souls of the corpses. When she was done, both wizard and demoness disappeared into the opened earth, where it proptly closed behind them.<br>

As they rode through the caverns of the underworld, Tenia's mind pondered the action they just completed, she never kept a promise before unless it was to her benefit. Xereve smiled as he read her mind.<br>
"The child is dead. I would not deal truthfully with mortals, you should know me better than that, love." he said in demonic tongue. Looking up at him in slight suprise, the demoness chuckled.<br>
"Then who was the unconscious boy?" she asked curiously. The wizard turned and looked at her with a wicked smile.<br>
"Have you seen you hell beast lately?" he laughed, Tenia couldnt help herself but to laugh as well. <br>
<br>
" I never would have guessed it. He looks very much like the prince." then as an after thought wrinkled her nose in disgust. "How long will my dog look like that?" <br>
Xereve chuckled and leaned over and kissed her on the cheek. " Not long, I promise. By tonight you shall have your nasty, ugly beast back to normal. Unortunately that city will be without a King and Queen and no heir to inherit throne." his black eyes glowed an errie red for but a moment. Tenia shrugged she could careless, she just wanted her dog back.
