(OOC: I assume I'm not breaking any rules here - I just think that these territory forums could do with a few more open roleplay threads...) 
 
Strung up in the canopy between two tall trees, a vast hammock of crude twine harboured a grisly but undeniably impressive collection of skulls. The Predator's trophies. The fruits of countless successful hunts. Skulls of all different shapes and sizes and species. Amongst the variety of unclassified beasts were skulls from many familiar, sentient races - canines, raptors, humanoids, unicorns, and the largest and most impressive of all - a massive dragon skull. Adorned with two magnificant horns, the skull was as long as the hunter was tall. 
 
The Yautja hunter sat on a broad branch overlooking the ghastly hoard, his back against the tree-trunk. In front of him was a spread of strange tools and chemicals - the Predator was contucting experiments. A while ago he had collected some of the poisonous moss that covered many of the trees around the forest, and without the benefit of being able to converse with other Deep Forest inhabitants in the know, he felt the need to discover for himself why so many creatures were becoming ill. The plague, whatever it was, did not seem to have effected the Predator - perhaps it was because he was alien to the planet and so was immune where others were at risk, or perhaps it was because he was a creature of nature and had not a single drop of magic in his body to become infected. Even so, he was taking every care not to touch the moss, and his black-taloned fingers moved with surprising grace as he poured various solutions of the palette of moss, before pausing to observe the reactions. 
 
Despite the Predator's apparently relaxed state, his steely, feature-obscuring mask was in place, along with all his armour and weapons, as if he were ready for combat. This was because, as his collection of trophies grew, so did the Predator become more protective of it, and for some time now he had been searching for a more private and secure place to store his beloved prizes. At least, from his current perch, he could keep a clear eye on his surroundings, but he could not afford to become confined to one place. It was a problem he would continue to ponder...

Jiova had tried to follow the directions given to him, but he feared he was somewhat lost, he didn't feel any closer to this "Forest Village" than he had been a long time back. The place seemed deserted, as though forest life had just vanished. Then he heard a slight sound from the tree tops, it sounded like bubbling, and he looked up to see a strange creature indeed. There were various bones around It, and it seemed to be experimenting on something. 
 
"What are you doing, Creature of Black? so far up in the trees." 
 
He called loudly, and anything nearby may well have heard it.

The alien hunter's head turned sharply at the sound of a voice, the slick black tresses that thickly adorned his heavy skull whipping round like hair. Immediately the Predator jumped to his feet - balanced as perfectly on the tree-bough as if he were standing on ground - and an unfriendly rattling hiss escaped the featureless metal face-plate. 
 
Ko'rac stared at the tall figure standing on the ground below - the elf a glowing silhouette in the alien's strange infra-red vision. In a normal situation, the Predator would have attacked by now, but strangely, he did not. 
 
Due to the recent complications of the plague, and the sheer amount of time that he had spent hunting in Deep Forest, the Yautja warrior's priorities were starting to change. He had been so successful in his hunts that he already had enough trophies to secure himself a place of honour amongst his people, and so now he could afford to be much more selective about what he hunted and when. Also, due to the plague making so many inhabitants sick, Ko'rac had to study his targets very carefully before attacking, for to kill a weak and defenseless creature was dishonourable. 
 
Well, this elf did not seem sick, so it had to be that Ko'rac simply did not yet view Jiova as anything worth adding to his collection... 
 
"Creature of Black..." A distorted recording of the elf's voice crackled from the hulking Predator's mask. 
 
"Plllaaa-aague..." Ko'rac then growled in his own voice, trying to get his mandibles around unfamiliar sllyables.

Jiova listened to the black beings words, Plague? What plague was there. 
 
Jiova could smell something wrong with the trees. Although these sort didn't seem to listen like his old trees, they still gave off a scent that something wasn't quite right in the forest, something Jiova may wish to fix. 
 
"What do you mean?" He called aloud, he wanted this creature to speak more, or react. Jiova needed assistance and wondered if this being could help, but he would wait until he revealed his wish.

Never taking his eyes off the elf (or at least it would seem that way, for the Predator's eyes were concealed), Ko'rac did not move from his perch on the high branch, but slowly lowered his muscled body into a crouch. Then with a taloned hand he gestured casually to his leafy surroundings. 
 
"D'to." The being uttered sharply in his own, strange language. Then he tried, "Fo-rressss-t. Plaa-gue." 
 
Then without warning the Predator suddenly threw the stoppered vial of liquified moss down to Jiova, intending for the elf to catch it.

Jiova was not entirely expecting something to be thrown at him, but his vampyric reflexes gave him enough speed to catch it easily. Jiova eyed it scrutinisingly. It seemed to be a moss of some kind. The black creature had called it a plague, and this interested Jiova. "Do you need this?" he called up, if not, it might come in useful at a later date.

"Taaake it." Ko'rac rumbled flatly to the pale elf-creature. 
 
The Predator inclined his heavy head and chittered softly to himself, clicking his mandibles absently as he considered something. The Ooman-like creature standing below him was not as aware of the plague as others he had seen, and so might not realise the revelation the small vial held within. Ko'rac would have to swallow his pride, as well as his hardwired hunting instincts, and communicate with the other creature at closer range. 
 
With a grunt of resolution, Ko'rac jumped from the branch, dropping a long way down but still landing in a neat crouch on the ground. The Predator swiftly rose and approached Jiova with his masked head held high and his great muscled chest swelling - a low but warning growl issued from the depths of that imposing mask, a growl which seemed to say 'you're safe for now, but don't you dare mess with me'.
