Vala sighed as she entered the largest of the caverns she'd wandered through. She'd been lucky not to encounter any hostile greetings but was happy to finally find a cavern that was big enough for her, warm and had the possibility of building the heated sand pit. Slowly, she walked the perimeter, taking in the sparkling lights of the diamonds that littered the walls and ceiling. "More like home then I could imagine..." she whispered to ehrself as she began to scratch at the cave floor with her claws, slowly bringing up a cloud of dust and coarse sand, fornwing at this she stopped and slowly lay upon the ground. "Well, so much for a sand pit...the sands too rough...well, perhaps a rest here then more searching tomorrow," she mused to herself as she drifted off to sleept, her large wings folding along her back as she wrapped her tail about her body.

Ooc:...well...I was gonna write a response now but It would seem the character I need to use was deleted and shouldn't have been...sooo I'm gonna have to settle that first....I apologize for this...I should have it fixed soon...

Movement within the caverns drew in Quetzal's attention. 
 
The miniature version of a snake slithered along the ground, feathered wings that were so intricately colored that they would put a macaw to shame folded tightly to the back of this white and scaled beast. This creature with bright pink/red eyes that seemed to gleam like gems when the light radiating from various torches and openings within the caverns hit them. 
 
It flicked its tongue once, twice ... ahh, there was definitely something foreign within these caverns ... Something new. Somebody new! 
 
In his excitement, Quetzal began to chitter and hiss, spinning about in circles, slowly approaching the entrance to an occupied cavern - he could tell it was occupied ... the scent came strongly from here. The scent and warmth of a living being! 
 
The amphtithere, miniscule and looking like a very small dog compared to this monstrosity, peered around the entrance, chiming singsongly. 
 
"'Eeeeeeellllloooooo!" 
 
His voice reverberated around the cavern. It amazed the little serpenting dragon. 
 
"Ooh! Echo!" 
 
'Echo echo echo echo' went around, repeated in Quetzal's tone but growing faint with each repititon.

The voice that met her mind was new. Male and echoing through the dark caverns that surrounded her. Raising her head she looked around, large green eyes gazing about the darkness. "Who is there?" she asked keeping her voice low enough so as not to cause to great of an echo effect, but loud enough for the newcomer to hear. Her long tail twitched before floding close to her body, the large black gem at the end glowing darkly but soon ceased and was once again lifeless.

Movement from beyond. Quetzal hissed in complete excitement, raising on his slithery body to peer into the caverns via standing on his tail. 
 
"Quetzal issss here, Misss!" 
 
The amptipthere (a type of dragon with no front limbs and the body of a snake, but feathered wings) grinned, baring two viper fangs that were virtually harmless unless Quetzal was extremely angry, which he wasn't. Thank godness. Because even at this young age, Quetzal did contain within him a venom. 
 
"Keeper of the cavernssss with Sssshino after Misss Evyn and sssir Phoenix passssed." 
 
Albino cobra-ish head tilted to one side. 
 
"Did I dissssturb you, mammy? I never ssseeeeesss you before!" 
 
Flick of the tongue, catching heat signals and a new, strange scent. 
 
"Newbie to the cavernsss?"

Vala blinked once...twice then raised her long slender neck further to widen her sight across the cavern. Upon spotting the slender creature she tilted her head curiously...it was afterall the first time she'd seen a serpentine dragon before. "Oh...no...no you did not disturb me, I was merely resting from my journey and hoping to find a home for myself. My name is Vala and yes...I am new here..."

Quetzal laughed - a sound that might have made a normal being shiver, as it was something like a cross between a hiss and a copperhead's rattle. 
 
"Of coursssse you're welcome heereeee! All draggiessss are, it'ssss our home!" 
 
A couple of lighting, glimmering blinks of his eyes later, and a grin, and the snake slithered up to the strange dragon. He stopped a few metres before its front paws, sticking its head and a portion of its body into the air to see the creature better. 
 
"Where you be'ssss from, Vala? I'm Quetzal, from Ssssouth America!"
