(color to follow, posting from phone due to insomnia and unwillingness to leave bed)

There was a bit of a pause as Cyeagha tried to quantify a meaningful answer with the words that were supplied.

"I'm from Sindria, Naianar, Galda, and many other worlds. I am from here and from not-here. Why I'm exactly here, is difficult to talk. Non Extradimensional. Not I, I'm Not-light..."

The equine was thinking, how was she going to get more words to say if she hear the equivalents. Then she got an idea.

The tendrils rose from her back, stretching like long taffy above the treeline as her eyes glazed in two directions. The pupils elongating to a dual split as the tendrils arched, sinking into the ground and slithering to merge with some trees. At random some of the leaves fell from them, a few withered, their bark crunching and twisting inwards as if someone had decided to divide by zero before she snapped back. And the trees reverted.

"Oooohhh thats much better" she replied this time her mouth moving with an actual voice. "Now I know what I can say. I am SPACE, the Vaccuum that waits between darkness. I'm technically everywhere, when and yet because I am a constant of nothing. Im not there. To answer your question, finite one, Cthulhu's technically a relation of mine. As for the why, I've been cursed here. My brain shoved into this reality and forced to adhere to the most acceptable form it could muster... This... Uhhh hoved horned winged thing? A 'Galda' the finite one called it? Anyway, expired one. For various reasons I cant say my real name because that would depressurize this realm. You can call me ' ' for short. "

The ' ' was the sound a vaccuum cleaner makes when turned on so... Naira was gonna have a tough time pronouncing that.

"Yes. Yes I am," Naira said to ... no one?

Yep. Looked that way.

The Reaver cleared her throat, a little on edge. Those trees had the life siphoned from them momentarily, and sprung back once they'd donated to the cause that was ' ' speech.

Seriously. That name. What the hell?

"Cthulhu is ... ," Naira started. She scratched her head, unsure of how to really explain the cosmic horror. "Ahh, you know what, I think I have a copy of the Necronomicon floating around. I'll lend it to you." It might do Eralin some good, considering the equine basically just confirmed the mad god existed. "Sorry, haven't heard of that world ... I'm from Earth."

Naira had a 'screw it' moment and took a leap for a low hanging branch, yanking herself atop it and twisting into a comfortable position. Her eyes flicked to the shadows the leaves and brambles cast, still leery.

"Why was your brain shoved here, Voidette? You definitely don't sound pleased to be here. Otherwise, welcome to what's left of Deep Forest. We're considerably short-habded on unisus these days so uh ... You probably coukd have come as a lake of tar and nobody would bat an eye."

"Huh?"

Eralin wasn't sure that she'd called anything a "Galda." That was a place, not a thing.

"I would've called you a unicorn, if I'd had to guess," she supplied. "I saw one once, when I first got here, to this forest. I had always thought they were mythical before."

Also, she wasn't sure how she would go about pronouncing the short name the creature had provided for itself.

"Well, ah... Thanks for not depressurizing this realm, um... Vrrrr?"

Also also, were they passing around names now?

"Eralin," she declared herself.

And, of course, she wasn't surprised that the woman with the dragon feet hadn't heard of the places she'd named. It had been a longshot.

"Necronomicon?" Eralin mouthed the name. "Is that a tome? Sounds, uh, dangerous. I mean, I'm all for arcane knowledge and all, but necromancy's not something to trifle with."

"Earthers." She huffed as if that would explain things, but It really didn't.

So elaboration was needed.

"On earth, I think it was mid 17th century... Germany. A priest decided to invoke the ritual of binding to me so that I would stop haunting the darkness and sending in their cave explorers into space. It was for their own good too, cause without my presence they found the Priests and my Kin to unleash upon the world. Now every full moon they have to keep that ritual up or else I'll return. Not so bad though. The fresh apples are nice."

She paused answering Eralin's question "Chuthlu's one of the priests and the aformentioned Neconomicon is a collection of rites, rituals and descriptions of me and my kin, it varies. However, depending on the version, it can also teleport you to the past, unleash tons of unspeakable murder-things and or make copies of itself."

"As for why I look like this... Part of the banishment to make sure that where I'm going to can contain me. 'A form befitting the realm so that I don't wreck the seal' I can still do stuff here but greatly lowered. I've warned you about my true name, my real form would probably create floating Islands and other strange physics."

Stuck in the form of a unisus to keep from breaking the seal? Naira folded her hands under her chin and leaned forth with a grin.

"They weren't horsing around. Aha. Ahaha."

Wowee. The crickets were deafening this time of night, huh?

"An all powerful being of the void, compressed into a mythical horse by a simple man wielding a bible. That ... sucks." And is so freaking typical of demon types ... Throw a bit of Holy water and suddenly they're melting. The Reaver tilted her head. "Out of curiosity, what would you do if the seal ever broke? Not that I have the kind of power to rend it, mind you. Seek revenge? Go on a vacation in the Canary Islands? Bling out a gold car in Dubai?"

She blinked at Eralin, cocking a brow.

"I'd thought the Necronomicon was just a thing of fantasy. The writer brought existential horror to a whole new head. But the one thing I've learned in my days as a Reaver ... expect the unexpected." She pointed a gloved finger at Cyaegha. "You quoted Doctor Who earlier. That's a science-fiction show back on Earth. Come to find out that he's also very real - and a hell of a dancer. But Voidette being here means Azag-Thoth is a thing ... And the King in Yellow ... "

Eralin supposed "Voidette" was a good enough nickname to use. At least it was pronounceable.

Learning Voidette's backstory left Eralin feeling... more sympathetic, surprisingly. Of course, she didn't actually know what "space" was, but she got the impression that sending explorers there was some sort of necessary evil. Banishing her(?) probably seemed like a good idea at the time from the priest's perspective, though. But it was still... unfortunate that it had worked out like that.

She gathered that Cthulhu must have been a different kind of priest from the one who had done the banishment, and it seemed that encountering those priests would have been a bad thing for the people of... Germany, was it?

Really, the only response Eralin had was to nod as she registered this information.

It was at that point that she heard Naira's horse pun, and she did in fact snerk involuntarily in response. The comments about cars, bling, and Dubai went over her medieval head, though, but she decided to let them slide. She wasn't sure what science fiction was either, but gathered that it was some sort of performance. Well, Earth was a different world, so it probably featured quite a few things she never would have heard of. She'd be here all day if she questioned all of them. Azog-Thoth and the King in Yellow seemed to be important, though.

"Those last two. Are they in the Necronomicon too?"

She supposed if they were, she'd find out about them whenever she read it, as much as she had misgivings.

"To harp back, it depends on the version. One bastardization of the book has been known to warp the reader through time." She iterated before re-addressing Naira's concerns.

"I don't know really. I'd probably have to re-establish the barriers to re-sepetate the elder gods and their heralds from the finites. There's a reason why most kids were afraid if the dark in older times. Me."

She sighed and rolled her eyes at the mention of
"oh yeah, ' '. My... Relative and counter part. The bringer of unfathomable light. I'm the lack, he's the existence"

The ' ' this time was akin to the sound of a light burning out and glass shattering, but when she uttered it, it felt as if a small subwoofer had gone off at the same time.

She paused trying to think of it there was anything to really talk about. She decided small talk would probably be best at the moment "Soooooooo.... Why are you two existing at this location, presently?"

Hastur was related. Oh joy.

crunch crunch

"The hell?" Naira uttered. Thanks to the acoustics of the forest, it sounded like it might have been coming from above. So she monkeyed her way to a high branch.

crunch crunch

No ... No ... That was down below. She motioned inquisitively to Eralin, wondering if she could see what was making the noise of chomping wood. A little brown blur answered that question before it had a chance to be answered.

The little three foot tall graveling stood back with satisfaction, porcupine quills shaking and saucer-sized yellow eyes glinting. He fiddled a long splinter between razor teeth, looking satisfied.

Naira blinked. "Terry?"

Cool. So her faux reaper days hadn't been an illusion.

The tree she was on swayed. The reaver's expression became one of irritated realization.

"Terry," she hissed angrily.

The graveling cackled. Naira watched the trees and sky around her move, and the ground very quickly rise to meet her. Cyaegha and Eralin were set to be pancakes.

"For the love of - TIMBER!"

Eralin nodded at Voidette's further explanations, then shifted her attention to the same crunching sound Naira heard. She glanced around, searching for its source, but also didn't pinpoint it until...

Down they went!

Eralin scrambled. The last place she wanted to be was between the trunk of the falling tree and the ground, so she lept off to the side from the branch she had perched on. Unfortunately, this left her in freefall along with the tree itself, and there was nothing else secure to grab onto. Seconds later, she hit the ground, then another branch came down from above and thwacked her across the back, knocking her down.

"... Ow."

With effort, she pulled herself out from under that branch, then pushed herself up out of the mud. A few more scrapes and bruises added themselves to her collection.

"Ow," she repeated. "That was... that was ow."

Then she brushed herself off.

"Anybody hurt?"

"Ah gravity, my old nemesis." The void based being muttered as the tree landed right on them, a large smack striking where the horse should be...

or would be?

It was weird. She just sorta stuck out from the side of it as if both of them didn't exist in the same place at the same time. As if she was part ghost.

"Was that supposed to do something?" She asked. "Its hard to tell with all this existance everywhere."

"I mean, a normal creature would be crushed to megadeath." Naira groaned, plucking herself off the ground.

Or trying. She couldn't seem to m - oh. That was why. What a pain in the hindquarters. The reaver landed on the underside of the tree not far from where Cya's head protruded. A thick branch was positioned between the trunk and the ground, somehow thick and sturdy enough to hold the heavy mass up.

The big problem? Well, between the branch - as in, in the middle of it - was a half-dragon kabob. A solid 12' circumference branch of maple shoved right through her chest cavity. Ribs, essential organs, and a lot of blood was being pushed through the exit wound.

Not one of her better days.

"So ... A little help?"

Once Eralin had her bearings, she surveyed the damage.

Voidette was...

Uh...

Yeah.

And Naira was--

Eralin went pale with momentary horror at the sight. At least, until Naira spoke. Then Eralin let out a breath.

"You're fine?" she asked. "You're both fine? I'm the only one that almost died?"

That did appear to be the case.

"Must be nice," she said.

She walked over to the Naira-kebob and examined the project.

"So... can I just pull this out?" she asked, indicating the branch. "Big job on its own. Uh... She felt for the hilt of the falchion at her hip. "What if I just cut you off of it? That'd be, um... faster."

She was saying all of this like it was just a regular thing, but it was in fact going to go down in her memory as one of the more surreal moments of her life to that point.

"Im gonna go out on a limb here and say I think she's functionally okay." Replied the void as it waltzed out of the tree as if it didnt exist.

"More blood than an anime character but somewhat functional. As soon as we remove the branch her atoms should be fine. No idea about the pain receptors though."

Casually on of the tendrils touched the side of the fallen tree and a loud splintering sound could be heard as the branch receded into the bark becoming 2 dimensional against the surface of the trunk.

"up to her if she wants those organs though, she might need those"

"SwwEeehEEEEaaaat GAAAAHHHDDD!"

Wood splintered free from her ribs, sucking back intobthe trunk. At this rate Naira didn't question anything anymore. But she made a grab for a lung and part ofbher still beating heart before they could also become one with the tree, shoving them back into her body like a child putting stuffing into a mangled plushie.

The blood on the ground and her body sizzled and disintegrated. Any trace of an injury vanished as if it never were.

"Oh joy," the reaver heaved. "Yeah. Can't die. Seems Voidette is in the same boat."

Her angry gaze locked into Terry. With lightning reflexes, she lobbed a rock at his stupid, laughing face. It *pling*ed off his skull and sent the graveling flying backwards.

"Jackass."

Eralin watched all of these proceedings, only feeling disturbed by how much she didn't feel disturbed.

"Neither one of you can die, eh?" She folded her hands behind her head and stretched. "Good, good. I can die, though, and I'd prefer not to. So let's try not to have any more trees falling on me, if that's okay."

She had spotted the strange laughing creature at the periphery by now, and was wondering if it was going to pose a threat. The rock to its face gave her a satisfying feeling, though.

"Agreed," The void creature responded as she began to trot deeper into the wood, seeing that the undead was... not dead.

"I think it's time I explored this place, could be fun. Feel free to follow, or not. But I think it's time I visit the unknown when it's NOT me. Rather exciting really."
