Spam Sillyness: Reborn!
Re: Spam Sillyness: Reborn!
Some silly things you may hear playing boardgames-
"So, if you cast a Druidic ritual on Mummies, you get Vampires? Makes sense, geographically."
"Druidic Vampire Mimes? This is worse than the Mummies."

Gotta admit, that is worse than mummies.

There are so very many dramatic ways that vast, incomprehensible galactic phenomena can kill you, that every single day that you go unmurdered by space is a miracle.

Let's hope not.
Re: Spam Sillyness: Reborn!
Doubtful, a specialist would surely be aware that munching on brains carries a very high risk of being driven off a cliff by a rampaging mob of angry pitchforks.

Hmmm, needs ketchup.

Re: Spam Sillyness: Reborn!
I like the idea of the flaming pitchfork. For too long, angry mobs have had to wield their pitchforks and torches separately. The flaming pitchfork, by doubling the efficiency of any angry mob, allows terrified villagers to hurl themselves ineffectively against unfathomable horrors TWICE as fast!
Re: Spam Sillyness: Reborn!
You misunderstand, I wasn't proposing a mob of angry villagers with flaming pitchforks, just a mob of flaming pitchforks.
You see, the terrified villagers simply had to go. They are a crippling design flaw in your traditional mob-overly breakable, prone to irrational behaviour, and utterly lacking in the necessary coordination. One charismatic speech and the whole mob can end up derailed or redirected. Much better to just let the pitchforks handle things, and leave the terrified villagers free for more important tasks.

Re: Spam Sillyness: Reborn!
That design choice rests on the assumption that a mob of flaming pitchforks won't itself be derailed from its mission by a particularly charismatic flaming pitchfork within its own ranks. That's a significant investment to make in downstream flaming pitchfork quality control...unless the flaming pitchforks can be made to effectively police their own ranks. Kind of like how automated speed cameras can ticket self-driving cars.
Re: Spam Sillyness: Reborn!
An unlikely problem, pitchforks lacking charisma, but as it happens we do have a plan for that contingency. Should the pitchforks go rogue, we will simply release this swarm of ceramic termites we've been breeding, which will swiftly devour, and thus neutralise the threat.
And now, a haiku in honour of my household god-
Hungry spirits wake,
Drawn to snapping cheese-box lid,
Cheddar, or my soul?

Might as well have a non-January post here. This is October!!!!
Re: Spam Sillyness: Reborn!
Aye, October, and approaching Bonfire night, when we in England celebrate the failure of a plot to blow up the houses of Parliament. Suddenly, I understand where my country went horribly wrong.

A bonfire does sound rather nice and warm this time of year though, does that mean I'm an anarchist sympathizer now?
Re: Spam Sillyness: Reborn!
Well, anyone who's still reading, have a happy Solstice. The household god seems uncertain about my offering of chaseable red tennis balls. I fear my soul may be forfeit. Still, at least there was a christmas episode of Doctor Who to watch.

Re: Spam Sillyness: Reborn!
I think opinions are split on this one, but I really liked the Christmas episode, it felt fun.
Re: Spam Sillyness: Reborn!
Myself, I found it a nice change to see the doctor with a companion drawn from a different demographic than 'pretty female', especially one that managed the entire episode without needing to be rescued.
And now, a christmas edition of silly things you might hear while playing boardgames-
"The starting deck is nine cursed lands, eight absolute nothings, and three slightly useful cards, so a lot like the british political system".
And an old one that I recently remembered-
"I'm going to Coup Rob in petty revenge for the petty revenge he's about to inflict on me!"
For the record, I was right about the petty revenge
