The move has been completed successfully! Everything appears to have survived the move just fine, but if anyone finds a broken link or anything else that doesn't work as it should, please make a post in Away from the Woods to let me know, thank you.
RP News: ~November 19th 2015~ (Old RP News)
There is no current plot. The forests welcome new travelers within these lands. Event Status: Not Active (each accepted character allowed to RP in multiple RP threads)
RP Season: Summer
This means everything is green, flowers are everywhere, and the shining sun creates a need for shady shelter on the warmest days.
Not going to name any names (way too many of you!), but people who use very light colors for character speech are making my eyes bleed trying to read what it says. So instead of having to highlight just to read what it says, use the new BBcode to give that particular bit of text a different colored backdrop.
PLEASE use this!So it won't look like this! Thanks!
(You can find it among the other BBcode options above the text box when posting, between center and strike. All you have to do is select the text you wish to highlight, press the button, then add the color backdrop in the proper place after the =. Or you know, just type the whole thing manually, whatever fits your style )
Thank you Gaeva! Think that there's definitely some ways to get some benefit out of this
Also, I don't think my character's font colours cause eye trauma... but please let me know if any of them cause brain hemorrhaging here so I can fix that up!
He asked us: "Be you angels?"
And we said, "Nay. We are but men." Rock!
Ooh, that is cool. ^__^ Thanks for the addition, Gaeva!
Hm, I don't know if I have anyone who would really need it, though...
"You kinda went out of your way for a visible gray. ... And a rhyme to say." "Though it's as cute as you are gray, I hope you won't bray~ It would wreck my souffle." *whimpering, backs away* "Hey, hey, no goin' astray." *grins* "C'mon, into the fray! ... What the hey...?" "I think it's a game to some fey..." *beams* "This girl likes to play~" "It's sure in my dossier." *browsing a book, takes a sashay* "Ooh, that's a splendid array." *desperate* "Parley?" "No will?" *shrugs* "No way." *grunts in open dismay* "Stay outta the bay!" *hides* "I messed up merjerk's toupee." *whines* "Now he wants me to filet..." "... Think he'd go for parfait?" "Ooh, I could use a sorbet." "... I'ma find a buffet..." "Aren't we in a cafe?" *the lights seem to fray* "Time to end this soiree." *quoth the raven, and yet bird of prey*
... "Eh?" "Enough! The gag's all overplay!" *wings spread* "You cannot stay! Away, away!" *a vast hole in the world, against night come from day* *bolts off* "Maybe I'll just saute..." *flees* "Never much call for spellbook puree." *charges, mouth full of food* "Not gonna pay!" *fades in good cheer* "Oh, such a fun stay~" *gallops* "Just great, just... Hooray..."
That would be Lacuna, a wizardy, bookish character that hasn't appeared in the forest yet.
Though I must say that really does work well with White there in Gaius' writing...
Hmm... I was originally considering it for Norad's communiques with computers, trying to mimic the old 80s DOS command line interfaces. However, now I'm contemplating using them for Grey and Gloom because horrors.
"It does add a certain flare to our speech, I will say that..." *shines claw on chest while an ominous smirk rises at the corners of his mouth, as the faintest sound of chains clanking echoes*
"And you all should really fear us..." *grins a too-wide grin, fangs glinting in the darkness while her tailmouth leers over her shoulder, its breath steaming in the air as ghostly frost forms around her paws*
He asked us: "Be you angels?"
And we said, "Nay. We are but men." Rock!
"What in the Nine Hundred Hells do you want, Bottle?!"
"I need your opinions of my new text color on this background. I mean, it looked okay when we were figuring this out against chat's white background, but now..."
"I think it looks fine."
"You sure I don't need to slap on a highlight, like this?"
"Ah, my eyes! No, Orb's right, it's fine with no highlighting. A little obnoxious, but endearing. Just like you."
"Did...did I just get burned by Tourniquet?"
"It could have been worse. It could have been me."
