[OOC: Just wanted to make a place where the characters with superhuman and inhuman physical abilities can play around and enjoy themselves. Everyone's welcome!]
Orb flashed her TG membership card at the bored-looking reptile at the front desk. The large, green-scaled bodybuilder gave it half a glance and hit the button in front of him. The door to the gym buzzed open.
"Thank you, Roy."
"Mmm," Roy grunted as he went back to his copy of Terrariums Monthly.
Orb walked to the locker room. She found one of the big lockers without too much rust in it and threw her rucksack inside. She changed out of her black hat and black dress and black boots and put on her neon yellow gym shorts and tie-dyed tanktop and lime-green socks and hot pink sneakers and zebra-striped sweatband. She then put a quarter into the locker, closed it, pulled the now-loose key out to lock it, put the key in her pocket, and walked into the main workout area.
The pesky laws of physics instantly vanished. Before her was an infinite expanse of terrains, surfaces, and obstacles that she could arrive at with the merest thought.
Okay, let's start with a warm-up. Literally.
She was instantly on the side of a massive, shallow-sloping volcano with low gravity. Gigantic boulders of smoldering rock were slowly falling all about her from higher up the slope. She began to run right at them, up the side of the cliff face, avoiding boulders by turning her arms into thinner tendrils, whipping them to her sides, grabbing onto rough areas in the rock, and pulling herself out of harm's way at the last possible moment each time. The low gravity allowed Orb to move much more quickly than she could have normally, which only added to the thrills.
The boulders suddenly stopped, and rivulets of lava began to find their way toward her from the top of the volcano. She turned her tendril-arms into stout legs and grew two new legs out of her torso between her tanktop and her shorts. She then began to skitter around the lava as fast as she could, finding whatever exposed rock she could amid the glowing strands of red.
The low gravity allowed her to leap further and further up the volcano's side, but it didn't last forever. Eventually, the only place left to stand was the only square half-meter of solid rock in sight, upon which Orb precariously perched herself on her six legs.
Alright, I'm plenty warmed up. Now let's do something difficult.
Gravity returned to full power. She was standing in a cave, on a small shelf with a blank rock wall behind her and a bottomless pit before her. The ceiling was covered in malfunctioning fluorescent lights and large metal hooks. Orb slipped out of her sneakers and socks and willed them to disappear for the time being, sending them into another dimension that she knew she would be visiting later. She then pulled the marbles from her legs into her arms and reached out to the first hook with their newly extended lengths.
She swung through the air, carefully, so as to avoid plummeting into the abyss below, from hook to hook. It strained her to keep her full weight supported during the swings, as she was quite heavy in normal gravity. As if that wasn't enough, the fluorescent lights on the ceiling blinked on and off at random intervals, and the rock walls around her began to narrow into thin floorless passageways as she continued. Her maneuvering was careful, and she had to make a couple of dicey decisions as to where to go next in the flickering darkness.
Orb pressed on, enjoying the challenge.
Finally, the hooks began to become spaced further and further apart, and Orb had to begin to pull additional marbles from her torso to make the necessary reaches. Eventually, she was mostly arm-span, and her lower, still-legless body was only connected to her upper body by a strand a few marbles wide. It was about then that the reaches that she was required to make became too great, and Orb could proceed no further.
With a sigh of grim satisfaction, she let go of the two hooks between which she found herself straddled and dropped into the darkness below. She broke her lengthened arms into multiple tendrils of marbles and sent them in all directions to grab onto the cave walls to her sides, nominally to slow her fall, but she only did this because it was challenging and fun to do it. It was a bottomless pit, there was no bottom to hit, and eventually, there weren't even rock walls to her sides, as they quickly began to recede from her. She was soon falling infinitely within a black nothing, her only companion the wind blowing past.
With a thought, Orb transported herself from the darkness and into a cloud-filled sky at sunset, though one that still lacked solid ground below. She enjoyed the freefall for a bit longer, slowly pulling her body back into shape as she did so, then suddenly adjusted her mid-air trajectory to hit her next target.
It was a slide. A big plastic one. Or, rather, countless big, plastic, winding slides intertwined with one another, extending far and wide in this expansive dimension. Orb hit the top one of the slides hard enough to knock away several of her marbles, but she quickly willed them back to herself using the properties of the Gym. Still maintaining her previous momentum, she went flying down several twists and turns of the slide she found herself on, then poured herself, in a single semisolid clump, over the side of that slide and onto a different slide slightly below her, just as the slide she was previously on was about to end in a strategically placed brick wall. She did this a few more times, avoiding a few more brick walls, letting out a couple of grinding and clacking noises that might have been a "Wheeeee!" whenever she came to a particularly sharp dip, static electricity occasionally arcing away from her the whole time.
After a while, Orb decided that it was time for a swim. She jumped off of the latest slide and into the reddish-orange sky, which quickly disappeared in favor of a deep, moonlit night, but still there was no ground, and in this newest setting, even the gravity was missing.
The "river" suddenly appeared in Orb's path of travel, though it wasn't so much a river as a twisting column of black water flowing, or, rather, raging randomly through the emptiness around her. She splashed unceremoniously into the column and steered herself into following the strong currents of the river. She transformed her limbs into flat paddles and used them to move herself to the outside of the column, allowing the water spray from the surface to splash directly against her face for a bit as the river twisted and turned in the night sky about her. She dove back into the water and spun herself around and about countless times, in a random assortment of shapes, to enjoy the water's mad motions for as long as she was able to handle the dizzying motions. Finally, Orb pushed herself towards the edge of the water once again and, at a particularly sharp turn, flung herself away into the night sky.
She turned herself back into a proper humanoid shape, straightened herself, and instantly appeared, on her back, on a pleasantly warm rock, in the middle of a pristine, quartz-sand beach, underneath a clear blue sky. Her shoes and socks were at her side.
Orb put her hands behind her head and smiled, letting the sun above dry her out at its own pace.
