It was amusing when she crawled on top of him, far less amorous than she had been the night before. It was a small gesture indicating just how comfortable she'd gotten to be with him in a very short amount of time, and this weird closeness made his chest flutter rapidly. Worry took precedence in his mind, of course. Was this perhaps a passing fancy and nothing more? Would it fade rapidly in a short amount of time? Clouded judgement could do a lot ... but he staved off the hunger riled up from late evening desires and still felt the same attraction for her the next morning. Plus there was something ... greatly comforting about her being there. Felix didn't want to get up, and it wasn't so much because he was too tired as it was that he didn't want to leave her side.

Curious. He'd romanced a few women when he was in his prime, but none of them held his attention the way she did now.

Lorelei kissed his muzzle and Felix found himself returning it.Such attentions were quickly rousing his attention and energy began to course through his veins. Sluggishly his eyes opened until they were nice and wide, piercing yellows locking gazes with her own. "I'd love to," he told her, brushing his cheek against her's in a way that a feline did to its master. "There's ... a big lake by the Village, unless you had somewhere else in mind?" He was quite intrigued by the other watering hole she had discovered.

First thing's first, though ... His belly was loudly protesting being unfed with every movement of his lungs. Feeling renewed with energy, Felix hooked his arms beneath her's and rolled off the bed Lorelei in tow. He held her the same way he had earlier, grinning from ear to ear. The dhole wobbled a bit on uneasy feet due to his still-not-awakeness but he adjusted quickly.

"Though we should grab some food, first. I'm starving." He chuckled at her own gut's rumblings. "As are you."

The river was too far? Felix grinned. "Not at all! In fact we'd have better luck there ... The Village is practically on the other side of the forest."

He obviously shared her sentiments of lovely feelings, twirling her about in his arms the way he did. To be honest he was relieved that she hadn't gone running off int he other direction now that her hormones from last night were quelled. Didn't females grow to regret their decisions the following day? Then again it wasn't like anything had actually happened. So what was there to regret? Placing her trust in a stranger? Okay ... that could be plausible.

But she didn't split the scene so he was grateful.

The spin he put her in was brief and slow; Not enough to cause nausea or dizziness. Felix slowly and wobbled towards the door, nudging it open with his elbow. Together they made their way down the stairs. Or Felix did, considering he was the only one walking. Lorelei was being carried and she was definitely not complaining. Her playfully chiding nip brought laughter from his throat. "Peckish? Says the one who probably would've eaten the bowl along wth everything else yesterday," he toyed coyly, amused by the mental image that danced throughout his head. "I'm willing to bet the stew was the biggest thing you've eaten in a long, long time."

He stuck his tongue out as if daring her to nip it, and with a second thought quickly drew it back into his mouth. The noises downstairs became louder as they neared. When Felix's foot fell upon the stairs' base, something loud cracked in the kitchen. A sense of urgency overcame his giddy nature and he burst forth with the kitsune held tightly in his embrace, only to jump backwards to avoid getting run into by Naira ... who came blasting out of the kitchen, cursing, with some small brown critter clasping the back of her skull. The beast had sharp teeth and gnawed lovingly on her bones.

"Terry! Not food! Geroff!"

"Grhwaa!" the Graveling hissed. A bitter sound arose from his mouth. A chuckle? A laugh? A cackle or a growl? It was somewhere between all of those things. But one thing was absolutely true about the noise. It was positively wicked.

Still flailing and cussing, the Reaver bolted out the front door ... and kept going and going ... Somewhere int he distance was a splash and a loud choir of angry yowls. Felix sighed. He rubbed his muzzle against Lorelei's cheek and shared an impish grin with the female. "I thought Terry wasn't going to come back ... ," said he in a whisper. "Don't worry. That's actually really common around here ... What do you wanna eat? I think Naira got some sausage going, from the smell of it."

She was asking about Terry. Felix could to little more than flatten one ear and grin goofily at the beautiful vixen in his arms. Really, how do you explain what just happened to somebody who still seemed a little nervous? "It's a really, really long story," he finally told her with a chortle. "You'll come to find this forest has a lot of oddities living in it. Living and dead ... "

The statement tapered off with an indicative look out the front door, towards where Naira was thrashing to get the Death Dealer off her (now) back. It probably wouldn't make much sense to the fennec, and he didn't really intend for it to. Rather than linger on the subject, Felix instead swiveled on his furred heel, trotting off to the kitchen with a certain beat to his step. The dhole bounced his hip every time he lifted a leg. With such a huge smile plastered all about his maw, it wasn't hard to tell that he was happy - exceedingly so.

"Sausage is a flavored meat that's ... well, how about you give it a shot?' Canine nostrils flared several feet before actually crossing the threshold into the cooking area: a thick wafting smell of cooked heaven. Some patties were left cooking on the greased pan hanging over the fire. Felix lowered Lori carefully to her feet before bouncing towards the food, flipping them with a spatula before they could burn. "You've really never heard of these before? I'm going to have to spoil you with lots of delicacies then."

Seeing as Lorelei still acted in a rather primal way when it came to dining, Felix didn't bother with silverware. He let the sausage cook a little longer, removing it from the fire when one side started to turn a little black. It took a few moments to cool, but once it was able to be handled he scooped up two patties and handed one to her while wolfing the other one down.

"They g really good with eggs and bread," he said after swallowing, delicately licking his lips to savor whatever fragment might have caught upon his whiskers.

"Yeah, actually," Felix told her with a brilliant laugh. "In my opinion, they taste better that way. You can make them in all sorts of ways. Oh, omelettes! With cheese and vegetables and ... all sorts of stuff. Or you can fry them. Or hard-boiled and ... "

It was kind of funny how the notion of food got him this excited. What was the old saying? The quickest path to a man's heart ... This was not necessarily true with Felix. He was just one who appreciated many flavors. Wines were just one of the many things he liked to try varieties of. Suddenly realizing his random burst of ecstasy, the dhole grinned and lowered his head, mildly ashamed.

"Okay, I have a confession," he said with a shy look glazing his eyeballs. His smile turned meek. "You'd think that, since I was raised by a family of canines ... and they liked to hunt ... that I'd be accustomed to raw food. Blood, flesh, all that good stuff. My siblings and parents and everybody else loves it like that, but for me ... I don't know, it always made me queasy." There was clear hesitation when he pondered admitting the next thing. "And all this would be well and good ... if I knew how to cook well. I, uh, tend to burn thins. Badly. Naira's in the process of teaching me and so far I've only set her kitchen on fire twice ... "

Trailing off, the dhole peered anxiously up at Lori looking like a dog who'd been beaten into a corner. Admitting these things made him feel less like a man, and his ego was practically deflating before her. Was this losing her approval of him? Oh wait!

"If it makes you see me in any more of a positive light, I do some good for her. I'm a really excellent hunter. All the deer meat, the rabbit, the beef that Naira has in her stores ... what you ate in the stew last night, for instance ... I caught all that. Great with a bow. I've handled one since I was a pup."

" ... I'll probably be better than you at it easily."

That last comment made him laugh, which was good because it helped alleviate how strangely uneasy he was suddenly feeling with her curled up against him, chin against his chest. Awkward. Why did he feel awkward? They had practically crossed a dangerous threshold last night ... within only an hour or so after meeting each other! Maybe it was because he felt comfortable around her, and the sensation was unique, alien, and very new. Not that he minded it in the slightest, for his paws wrapped about her dainty form and pulled her close, beaming a positive expression down to her. Yes, there were butterflies raging in his belly.

"We'll have to see about that, won't we?" he teased her lightly, lovingly nipping at her nose in a manner that was all playful. For some reason he wanted to shift into his four-legged state and romp around in circles with her - something about her presence reduced him to a pup mentality. It didn't kick in all the way last night, but it was definitely settling now. He chuckled, sticking his tongue out at an amusing afterthought. "Maybe I can be weaned off of eating cooked stuffs ... I mean, I haven't tried digesting anything raw since I was a kid. Could be I'd handle it better now."

With Lori tight in his embrace, the dhole spun this way and that until their entwined bodies were at the Inn's entrance. The sun was shining brightly, the sky clearer than it had been in some time. In the distance Naira was still heard cursing, trying to remove a clinging Terry from her head. Other than those peculiar sounds of turmoil, singsongy birds made this whole scene run parallel to some Disney movie.

"Let's go find that watering hole," thrummed Felix, voice catching in his throat to give it a slight rumble. It made him sound like he was purring. "I'm eager to swim with you ~"

OoC
Hey you! Awaiting your post with Sheikka, madame!

--
Although Felix was kind of hoping that they would lope about in their four-legged forms, he was quite content to walk with linked arms in their biped ones. After all, it allowed him the ability to hold her close from time to time, or spontaneously pick her up and spin her about. She seemed to love the gesture, considering her earlier reaction, and Felix was relishing in making her giddy like a little kid. It made him ... excessively happy.

Their journey was filled with fantastic tales of strange things. Peculiar heroics; Exciting happenings; Curious mistakes. There were hunting accidents and pranks gone wrong and hilarious mix-ups. Webs of childhood stories were woven between them, each relating something with the other ... each spoken words bringing them closer and closer. Felix couldn't tell why he was becoming so comfortable having her around, sharing their innermost quirks and laughing them off like they were nothing. Of course, there were some thins that hadn't been touched upon. lori had her's, and Felix had his. But those were personal, and the young dhole was not going to pry. It was a small wonder they were like this around each other now, this fast, after all!

So when they finally got to the lake and Lori stripped down, he ... really wasn't that bothered by it. But he also couldn't take her eyes off of her. Bright yellow orbs studied every curve with great admiration. She was truly something to marvel at ... and it made his chest throb. Far from perversion, he didn't gaze upon her with lusty intent to ravage the dignity she had. It was something different, and his expression spoke of calm ... and loving. It was complex. The dhole didn't dwell upon it for too long, though his eyes had a harder time prying away from her nudity than he would have liked.

Last one in ...

His ears perked up and his chin followed. Mouth agape, he stuttered in shock before finally grinning at her fleeing back. "Ohhhhh, you fiend!" he called to her playfully, quickly stripping his clothes and bounding after her. He was no good at hunting with knives, but his archery demanded one thing of him, and one thing only - the ability to sneak, incognito, up trees and behind cover without being spotted. He had to be nimble on his toes to catch up with fleeing prey. So when the fennec humanoid bolted, he was keen to chase ... and catch up!

Felix's feet left the embankment the moment she landed in the water with a loud splash. He was a split-second too late, submerging just as Lori surfaced ... He came up several feet from where the lady was, gulping in air. His fur was sodden through and through, but that was okay! He waded there for a bit, glancing this way and that before he finally locked glimpses with the maiden of the water. Her tails fanned about her, floating atop the serene lake like lilypads which had grown furry and fat. They encircled her, skin wet, glistening like a diamond in the sun. He couldn't help but marvel ... and was caught, evidently, for her next words snapped him out of his trance.

Shaking his fuzzy head, the dhole laughed suddenly and splashed her. "You distracted me," he told her with a chuckle. "I've a fair maiden in my sights." That last one was spoken calmly, words drifting aloft with sincerity and gentleness. His eyes echoed the same. Felix caught himself in a trance-like state and assaulted her with many many splashes, thoroughly drenching her if she wasn't already. "I've a foolish question. If you're from the desert ... where did you learn to swim?"

Laughing at her antics, the fox-like canine dipped low into the water with a rather devilish grin pricking at his handsome features. 'I'm glad you've learned to swim so well," he told her with something lurking beneath his voice that mingled ominous and playful into a finely-woven fabric of tones. "You might be needing it." Coupled with a wink, his flirtations were easy to take note of. But what was he up to, really?

Oh ...

He vanished beneath the surface. For a moment his ears lingered above the water, floating about like a fin to a shark. Soon they too slipped beneath the reflective surface. No motion broke the calm lake from that point on. The liquid was clean and clear enough to see through, and Felix's fur was such a vibrant hue ... yet he was invisible. How did he manage to pull off a disappearing act like that? Unless he was simply that quick ... on land and in the water. He was far from gone, however. A playful little nip landed on the heel of Lori's left foot. Her reaction would likely be swift, so Felix split the scene before she could judge the location of his body. His frantic jet-action in the opposite direction was enough to disturb the unwavering calm lake just so ...

But it didn't tarry for too long. And neither did Felix, who returned for a second nip and tug on Lori's other foot and fled in just the same manner as he did before. This would not be able to continue for long. Sooner or later he'd have to come up for air.

Following Lorelei's whine, Felix finally came up for air ... right behind her. Furred arms wrapped around her dainty form, pulling her close to him. His sleek muzzle drifted towards her ear, whispering in a tone that was half-playful, half-flirty, "Maybe you should pay more attention, hrmm?"

Before she could react, he nipped her ear lightly and slipped back down into the water. He gave a sordid yank at her ankle and pulled her down slowly, giving her just enough time to catch her breath. Of course this was all in good fun - he had no intention of bringing any sort of harm to his companion. That didn't keep him from joking around ... and flirting in the process.

The initial jerk of her leg alarmed him. It invoked fear into Felix - had he scared her? Perhaps she was afraid she would be pulled down to drown? Unwilling to fee the wrath of a vixen who thought death was upon her, the Dhole prepared to let go ... and was surprised when, before he could manage to loosen his grip, Lorelei slipped beneath the surface with grappling fingers of her own. Inevitably she was able to twist her leg away, sleek skin gliding away from furred digits like a silken sheet.

And suddenly she was down to his level. Those tails were doing pinwheels behind her, obviously bogged down with water-weight. But her slender hand found Felix's own dampened tail and gave it a tug. He returned the favor deftly with a sordid pull on his furry appendage, using momentum to his advantage so that Lori no longer swam the still water before him ... but was pulled directly into his open arms.

He was hugging her. underwater. Good thing they had enough air to last. The feel of her naked body against his orange-and-cream-colored pelt made his heart thump heavily against his ribcage. Verily, he found himself short of breath and had to control his pulse. His eyes squeezed shut, the biggest smile plastering across his elongated muzzle.

Carnal urges aside, something about having Lorelei this close to him brought huge comfort. Any other canine would have dragged her, willing or not, to the surface to have his way with her. But Felix ... was content to float endlessly in the lake for as long as eternity would allow. Of course they would have to come up for breath at some point or another. Until then, this was a moment frozen in time.
