Instant Messaging?

Instant Messaging?
Between texts and Facebook, the art of the IM seems to have been lost. I've been considering getting MSN or AIM again.
Does anybody actually still use these?

Re: Instant Messaging?
I happen to use Skype.

Re: Instant Messaging?
Skype was bought out by Microsoft and so Microsoft replaced the inferior MSN with the superior Skype
The big players right now are Skype, GTalk (being replaced with Google Hangouts), and Facebook Messenger.

Re: Instant Messaging?
Haven't used messengers in a looooong time. I temporarily got into aim, but that predictably faded rather quickly. I don't use Skype except to talk to one specific friend who moved away *sniff*, I don't like Google talk/Hangout (never really tried it though >.> ), but use facebook messaging. It's the only part of facebook I actually use
EDIT: (And I like to pretend UV chat is something I use often, so let's pretend that's true

Re: Instant Messaging?
AIM. Although technically my IM client also connects to yahoo and MSN messenger services.
It's still connecting to my hotmail account and the MSN services. I don't know how, but it is.
I have a skype account, but only use it when I have a voice chat scheduled... I've logged into it, literally, less than once a year since setting up the account
I don't want to consolidate all my info under google and I won't support a company (facebook) that is actively trying to flush the 4th amendment entirely from the digital sphere...much less give them any of my personal information.

Re: Instant Messaging?
I use Yahoo, or Facebook. I haven't used MSN (Skype) because I simply don't like it.
Does UV have a Facebook page or group? I'd join that if there was one...

Re: Instant Messaging?
Same name as I use everywhere else: on Twitter, on Google, on Yahoo, on Facebook, on Pinterest, on LinkedIn, on Muck Rack, etc.
And if you don't know what that is, then you probably should not be having my Skype information either
