I hope the plan isn't for a few people to go over and solve everything while everybody else that's been involved and committed for over a year is stuck out in the middle of nowhere. Not that I'd be surprised.

Yep.

Like I said, no surprise. Just yet another disappointment from UV.

And that was Lux being angry.

Points needed to be addressed, but before we leave that hanging out in public view, it should be known that some discussion with Barbie in Chat has me more hopeful that something can be worked out.

Wow.

You know, we actually have nothing really planned for that whole trip ... Gaeva said she was gonna post with us, but we don't have any idea what's what.

And you could just as easily leave a stagnant thread to join us or something.

Yeah dude. :P Very rarely is our crap ever private. I'm always jiggy with more people coming in. The others should be okay with it too.

Okay, then. Communication does help, though.

And since I feel like I've got some explaining to do now: This thing had the misfortune of looking like it was going to follow the pattern of "Lux gets screwed" that I've seen too many times in life, so that was the conclusion I drew. Misunderstanding on my part, but it really did put me in a pretty sore mood, so my judgment wasn't the best.

I suppose any character but Rekka, who is living-impaired at the moment, could theoretically show up. So I'll think about the options.

I'm kinda limited on what communication I can do. I got ahold of Juno via text, and Gaeva only let me know she was able to join in like two days ago.

If you'd brought it up in chat I would have told you the same as I did above. The only problem being we constantly miss one another in chat. And I didn't know what you were thinking, so I couldn't really PM you without some kind of hint.
But it's all good. If I was in your position, I'd probably be irate, too ~

There we go, this isn't spam silliness at all, this is just miscommunication.

So what I am grasping from this is that there seemed to be a clique forming? And then it turned out there wasn't? That sounds good.

Lux, you're obviously feeling left out, since I haven't actually been here in a while, I'm not sure what exactly you feel left out on, but I wanna help if possible. Does it have to do with the plot that's been put on hold?

It really is on hold btw, I need to get back into RPing before I can continue, it wouldn't be fair to you guys to do so otherwise. I saw an opening when Windra mentioned there would be activity in the Prison, so that's where I'll be reviving my RPing. Or trying to anyway. Who knows, maybe it really will lead to the revival of the plot? But if it does, it would at the very least be announced in advance...we don't have that RP announcement thingy at the top for nothing. Ok, technically it's not doing much right now, but that's because I have no clue of what is going on!

I kind of have a vague idea, I think?

I know that whoever was at the Prison got thrown off in all directions.

Devon and Grey appearified at the Boundary Mountains, but I believe Gaius never exactly got a reply in the roleplay so it went into comatose before the end of April.

Simi the unicorn and Klinge the dragon angel appeared smack dab in the middle of the forest by the river, where they met Attor the dragon and saw the unravelling of Deep Forest for themselves. They recently found safety in an underwater cavern.

Entropy, L-8, and L-11 were transported to the Forest's edge, and for the most part involved in-character discussion before Lux failed to recieve a reply nearing the end of April. Then again I did skim quite a bit just now ^^'

Zom and Lyrial appeared at the swamp, amidst a dead carnival. That topic also went into comatose mid-April when Lux er... um.... didn't recieve a response. ^^;

I've spent the last several hours writing up a long explanation to frame this all in the context of my time on this board from my perspective, but it turned into a bit of a ramble and I sort of lost track of my point by the end.

Long story short: While I suppose some people can RP just to RP and not mind, I really feel like if I don't have some impact on a story, I haven't really done anything. And, unfortunately, I don't feel like I've had much impact at all on the story of Deep Forest, and I seriously mean in the whole time I've been here. Whenever I try to get involved in anything of very much importance, something or other almost always either causes me to get shoved off to the side or causes the story to not go anywhere. In the end, if none of my characters had ever appeared, I'm pretty sure the general story of Deep Forest, or even that of very many individual characters, would not be significantly different. I haven't wanted to complain about it because there have always been understandable circumstances involved and I would have felt like I was being a bit petty, so I haven't really known what to do but keep it bottled up as much as I could, despite that being well-known to be a pretty bad idea.

So, after thinking for a long time that this plot was the one where I might finally end up doing something that mattered, I suddenly found out that PMs were being sent to a seemingly arbitrary group of people to have them bring their characters into the plot area, which looked very much to me like a move to just go ahead and finish the plot with my own involvement having once again been negligible. I noticed later that the group involved had actually been working out their plan together in a thread already, but then it was still just a case of me failing to be in the right place at the right time. So, that pretty much put me in one of the worst moods I can remember being in, and all I really had a mind to do was go sit in the corner and sulk.

So, basically, as established, I misjudged the situation. Nothing special actually needs to be done at this point. The plan under discussion isn't a problem for me as long as it doesn't have the effect I was afraid it would have.

As for what I hope gets done going forward: I suppose I've just told you, more or less. When the plot gets moving again, I'm hoping for it to be done in such a way that everyone still gets their fair shot at involvement.
I'm kinda limited on what communication I can do. I got ahold of Juno via text, and Gaeva only let me know she was able to join in like two days ago.
Mm... Yeah, I don't know what to say. I guess things were just going to happen the way they did. Well, no harm done in the end, I hope.

And I hate to double-post again, but I need to make sure people see this one.

It might just be me being paranoid, but I'm worried that people might think I'm still angry now. I'm not. I can assure you that I'm totally not. I got bent out of shape and rushed into thinking something that wasn't the case, and since it has become apparent that I had the wrong idea, there would be no sense in staying upset.

All I really did was make some sulky posts, but I do feel fairly guilty at this point for completely abandoning my sense of rationality for the time that I did.

You're tone of posting changed, Lux, I don't think anyone could have mistaken that for angry or otherwise anymore. And don't feel guilty about this. It's actually giving me an internal giggle, because while your characters haven't been able to make the impact you wish for on UV, your real you on the other hand just did, lol. It sped up some thinking, and made me post in here sooner than I had intended anyway.

You know, it would be a nice idea that instead of planning plots, other, possibly smaller events take place that sort of shift from character to character. I've always been a massive fan of creating a story with the "main character" shifting from from individual to individual with every "chapter". I've tried to do this before but it always failed the moment one person became inactive and broke the chain. It would be worth thinking about to do this in in RP instead, and give everybody a chance to shine in a personal moment, and become integral to the planning part of UV by helping pass it on once they're done. Everybody becomes a junior plotter one by one. ...this could even be put into effect in the plot-on-hold, help it become active and actually be played out completely without leaving any RPers left out. Even new players would have a serious shot at adding on to the story if they so wish.

^Ideas are always fun when they're still ideas ^_^
