I started RPing here in 2003 back before the UV jumped into its new skin. I spent several evenings of the week writing my heart out, learning the tools of the fantasy trade and making a great number of friends. But then something happened to the UV board- it was a virus? Or something that caused a lot of the threads to vanish or get corrupted. I lost a few strands of character development which I foolishly had not saved elsewhere on my computer. I know better now. I have not role played with the characters I used here anywhere else, as it seemed they belonged in the Forest and the Boundary Mountains. They would not leave with me, and thus they remained. Sometimes over the years I longed to return to this place and find my way through the winding trees down to the glistening streams where I could take a delicious drink. I would look up and be satisfied that I had come back--but I was unable to, in reality, bring myself back until now.

Many things happened to me since I left. Life turned out to be more than an afternoon full of fantastical writings to a grueling day filled with problems, including my medical health and state of mind. High school passed, college passed-stopped. Work started-stopped. College started up again, so here I am-still a student, but a happy one at that. I've got a few more core classes to finish before I transfer to the School of Art and Design in Savannah, GA. I am going to be double-majoring in Photography and Interactive Game Design unless the major ends up encompassing both to my liking.

I've always been into rpg related things, like games (MMOS especially) to LARPing(which I do not do anymore). I've taken 2 creative writing classes in my schooling years and am now yearning to take more. I've normally been more keen on poetry than prose, but when it comes to rping, I do just fine. I've always been a writer, and my mother can attest to that.

To Oldbies, here at UV - This MIGHT jog your memory about me....Here are the characters I used (I found some of their old Edge join posts which really took me back). It appears, though I don't remember it, that I reposted some characters profiles in 2006.

Iynatai: Upon entering the Edge, she was the typical white, firecasting unicorn from a good family- But at some point, she turned evil, her coat turned back and her horn from silver to gold. Her mate is Zephor. (I am not aware if Zephor's author, "BeastTails," is still around).

Kailalyn: Pale pink pegasus, with pastel green underfeathers on her wings. She left Deep Forest in search of a new life because her mate, GoldenLight (and his auther, "Yuio56") had left the forum.

Elendiel: White Unicorn. I believe she had some snow factor she could control. :/ Elendiel is deceased.

Lark: Elf/Drow (Mottled skin). Evil. ((viewtopic.php?f=29&t=6182 )) <-Is intact with no funny code interferring. Had a brother named Nailoc.

D'Arkem-ber: (aka, Arkem). Evil. Shapeshifter -Human, Phoenix, Dragon. ((viewtopic.php?f=29&t=6183 )) <-Intact.

Eine Typish Woelfe: (aka. Woelfe). Good. Gypsy Vanner horse, raised by wolves (WEIRDEST THING EVER lol). Her profile and history was all lost in the UV catastrophe.

Now, I do intend to join back in role playing. Probably not as heavily as before. But, I would like to stay because honestly...I've missed it you all.

That is if the forest doesn't get destroyed with the main plot. (see burning imagery for details [TOTALLY not my fault this time.])

Heyo Emrald! Just in time for UV's 9th anniversary, eh? Sorry things are looking a bit... sparse, but we're trying to rectify that. Specifically, I'm trying to rectify that, though folks here are helping by sticking with the site and continuing to produce quality RP. Name's The_Vizir, but you can call me Viz, everybody does, and I'm the current advertising/welcoming/OOC-ish moderator here ( I think that's my position... have to check with the Boss Lady...)

Unfortunately, I don't think we've met, as you left shortly before I joined up here, though I will say I do remember seeing you in a number of threads when combing archives. Aside from Juno, I think the only folks around who you might remember are our most glorious (and pink) Boss Lady (of course), Roose, Barbanis, and Windra - though ddpej and Sithrazer still drop by chat on occasion

My sympathies in looking in on an RP place without being able to bring yourself back into it. I was the same way with my old RPing boards. So, I'm glad you're feeling confident enough to get back to UV.

Yeah, Barbie and I were friends on deviantArt for some time after I left UV. Eventually I ended up leaving dA too, haha. Do you know if Calumbidarae is around anymore? I RPed a lot with her.

It is sad though that the mates of my most beloved characters left.

Emrald! Of course I remember you ^_^ I couldn't quite link you to any characters at first, but after seeing your list it's definitely Iynatai, D'Arkem-ber, and Woelfe that I remember ^_^ You had quite a parade of characters!

Anyway, welcome back, and like Viz said, just in time for UV's anniversary, lol (today ). It would be great to have you rejoin the RP ranks, with new or old characters, it sounds like you've totally built up on skill and ideas in the meantime, lol. It's good to hear you're happy now ^_^

I used to play WoW for years, but haven't in about two now. I'm sort of pondering whether to give the last expansion a shot, but other things keep drawing my attention. I guess I sort of grew out of WoW.

Cataclysm was not as great as it was cracked up to be, honestly. The new maps and music are nice ^^ But dungeons, both regular AND heroic take waaaaaaaay more time than I like to spend on the game, especially if the team is wiping. New battlegrounds are great (minus Twin Peaks) -_-; . But, a lot of changes happened to class skills/etc. I play a priest and our mana restoration was completed nerfed. So- its been tough learning new rotations, etc. If I was in Blizzard's position, I would have stayed with LK for a bit longer. :/

Priest...mana restoration...lol. They have none! Seriously though, my shaman, druid, mage, lock, and pally never run out of mana. But my priest always does! XD

Ally, priest as a main...so that's not exactly motivating to try again!! XD At least my priest was leveled to 80 by some random hacker, and Blizz for some reason didn't reset her, so that's something? I also lost some of her possessions, but Blizz tried to replaced them, and instead gave me the stuff the hacker had farmed on my char...which was worth 3 times the total amount I owned when I last logged, so I'm suddenly rich XD I'll admit, this sudden increase in riches is what made me consider playing again, check out the expansion, see what this gold can do to help me advance
