Song In The Air- Briena Skysong
Music... Sweet, yet almost heartbreaking. It soared through the air, hopeful, yet sorrowing. Mourning. Yet rejoicing. It was as though the musician or musicians could not decide whether or not they were happy. At first, it was no more than a sweet piano's song, but then it seemed to be joined by a stringed instrument, a violin, perhaps, until it sounded as if there was a small orchestra making its way toward the Forest Village, coming from the Wastelands direction. Right as the violin started... Her pure, sweet voice soared to join it's melody. Sad, and indescribably beautiful.
The young woman's voice sang a graceful war Ballad. Tears could be heard, hidden under the powerful voice, as she sang from her heart. Though her's was the only voice singing, the instruments acted as other voices, telling the tale.
Then, the singer came into sight, and what a sight she was.
She was tall, graceful, and as beautiful as her voice. Her hair fell in thick waves of fiery dark red ruby brilliance, and her eyes were closed in rapture as she sang. Her exquisite features hinted at Elven blood. To those with a powerful sense of smell, such as a vampire, Lycan, or any other keen sensed soul, would be able to tell that she was at most Half-Human. But all the rest was Elven. And Shifter.
For all that it sounded as though she walked with a full orchestral company, she walked, in truth, alone. Her heart was where the music came from. It was part of her magic. By the time she had finished on a pure, high note, the Village would have likely heard the last streams.
Briena Skysong's head came forward from it's thrown back angle and her eyes opened, revealing the splendor of deep, sapphire blue. Tears shimmered in them, making them sparkle under the dappled sunlight sifting through the trees, though her face was dry, if slightly flushed. She sighed. It would, she supposed, be good enough, acting as a Bard. She might get a helping hand back to her own world.
She had smelled the Village an hour ago. Also sensed it. So, she had set off towards it, at last leaving that dread Wasteland behind. Every once and a while, she had taken hawk form and soared above the trees to survey the land. So she had pin pointed the Village. But, she felt like walking on two feet this day.
At last, after a day and night, she stopped, and wavered slightly. She'd never really enjoyed going into Villages, not since the slaughter of her birth home. But, she mused, best not to dwell too much on the past and forget to look where one was going. So... She took a deep breath, and stepped into the Village, for once leaving her cloak hood down and letting that mane of fire ruby colored hair flow free. She walked tall and straight, but inside, she was still wondering.
Was it safe?
((( The song is not mine. I commend Master Spaeth for his glorious musician skills.)))

Ageas heard a beutifull voice from a long distance and decided to find out who that sang. he started running faster and faster and ended up allmost jumping from tree to tree.
after a while the song stopped and but he keept traveling in the same direktion. after the night he reached a village. he panicked "a village here?" he thought and stopped to hard so he triped and fell with in a a loud noise. he slowly got back on his feet and started to walk into the village as silent as possible to avoid attension even though his white fur almost shone in the sun. he looked around to see who it was that sang.

Nightstalker had taken leave of the Boundary Montains not much longer than the first series of tremors began, and headed off to find shelter in a more safer region of Deep Forest. He was uncertain to where he was heading exactly, but seemed to be lead by something within his subconscious mind. As he neared the village a soft and elegant voice could be heard from far off but somewhat nearby distance that seemed to drift through the cool breeze. Nightstalker was much intigued by the ballad, for it had been quite some time since he heard a song with so much complexity to it. He walked cautiously to the direction his well tuned ears told him where the source of the singing was produced from. As Nightstalker neared the village he could seed a figure with long, flowing, fiery red hair and guessing from the person's shape he though that chances are that this person was female. "Hello there Miss are you alright?" he asked walking up behind the person.

Ooc- Oh hell! My mom took the computer and I only just got it back now. Sorry!))
Briena heard the male voice behind her and jumped, spinning around. She eyed him for a moment, wary blue eyes taking in every detail of the male. Then she spoke hesitantly. "I am alright, Sir. Why do you ask?" Her tone was neutral, but her stance showed she was prepared to bolt away, should he give her a reason to do so.
(Gack! Such a short post. Urgh. I'm rusty.)

((Meh, don't fret it glad you are back though!
Shame on your mom for taking your computer, bad mom, bad1
))
Nightstalker simply shrugged his shoulders as a response to the lady's question. "Just your song had a hint of sadness to it, and also the posture you seemed to had when I approached was that of some sort of hesitation as if you were debating whether or not to do some kind of act." Nighstalker spoke politely to the elven woman for that is what his scanning green eyes told Nightstalker what this elegant creature was. As his eyes met hers Nightstalker had a strange tinge of emotions like the two had met somewhere before, a feeling that one might call a past life connection of some sort. "Well all the same it was quite an enjoyable tune, for it has been quite a long time since my ears were blessed by such a song such as that." Nightstalker smiled warmly at Briena and then bowed to her in greeting. "My name is Nightstalker" the electric guitar Nightstalker had slung over his shoulder became lose and slid down on his upper arm some.

Briena watched the Lion Anthro as he shrugged in reply to her question. Then when he spoke, telling her that she had seemed sad, and then that he had noted her wary and ready to bolt stance, she shrugged, too.
"I've always been wary of villages, since several months ago. One can never be too wary. Ambushes can happen in the most innocent looking places. But, I must say, this Village is an odd one... I've never seen a Village built in tree tops before in my life." She glanced upwards toward the aforementioned Village's undersides. How would she ever be able to find someone who might help her get back. Sure, she wasn't keen on meeting her Grandfather, after the way she had fled in the night to avoid the possibility of an arranged marriage.
She snapped out of her musings as the Lion Anthro spoke, complimenting her singing, saying that it had been a while since his ears had been blessed by such music as hers. He ended that with a warm looking smile and a bow. Then he introduced himself as Nightstalker. As he bowed, something that he had slung over his shoulder slid off his shoulder.
Briena eyed the thing warily and with slight tinge of curiosity. She'd never in her her entire twenty-six years of life seen an electric guitar. After a moment, she decided to ask about the Village. Perhaps Nightstalker would know of someone who had need of a Bard. Hell, she'd even take a job of mucking out stalls... Though, come to think of it, she wasn't sure if there were any barns here in this Village. Or maybe they could use a guard to protect the... No... Being built in the tops of these enormous trees gave a distinct advantage against invasion. She sighed, putting these thoughts on a side shelf in her mind, and asked her question.
"Is there anyone here in this Village who has need of a hard worker or an experienced warrior? Are there any Elven people here?"
Dumb question, that second one. She could smell pure-blooded Elven folk, as well as many other species and races. But no humans. She wondered vaguely about that, but decided to ignore it. Then she thought of her previous plan to take up the role of Bard, and added, "Does this Village have a Bard or entertainer?"
She waited for an answer, patient and alert. The wind combed invisible fingers lovingly through her tresses, pushing locks off her face, and for a moment, she closed her eyes and felt the wind's hands touch on her face. Cool, refreshing, it smelled like the forest, and she could pick out the individual fragrances of wild forest flowers on it's wings. Then the moment passed, and she opened her eyes again, and looked again at Nightstalker.
[OoC: Yay! Muse has returned!]

After bowing Nightstalker stood up and readjusted the guitar as he slung it back over his shoulder.
"I do not know any of the answers to your questions, but to give my thought of your second one I would say it is safe to say there is elven people here. As you had noted to the unusual architecture among the trees is a very common eleven theme of village construction. You do make a good point of being cautious of when in a village; however, it provides a lot safer place of shelter than being in the open would. Also if this village is like most I have villages I have visited I am certain you will be able to find a means of occupation of the positions you have asked me about. I have just arrived here myself though, so everything I just told you is based on overall assumptions".
Nightstalker said all of this while looking out at the village, never looking at you directly. "If you do end up working as a bard if you could please inform I would much appreciate it, for not only would it allow to hear you sing more, but also so I know there is a good chance I could work as a bard as well, for it has been a long time since I performed for others. Though my taste of music, and the sound my instrument makes seems foreign to the few creatures I had ran into before coming here".
