The Gloom Wolf is a mangy, scrawny, starved creature, called a ‘wolf’ only for lack of a better definition. Her spiky black fur is matted and dirty, and she bears several bald patches across her limbs and flanks. Her claws are pronounced and sharp. Her ears are pointed and tattered, usually held low against her head in a permanent state of rage and desperation.
Gloom’s most distinguishing feature is her face, or lack thereof. It is an eyeless metal cone that splits down the middle – filled with vicious pointed fangs which can, at Gloom’s will, revolve around her mouth at high speed on two continuous tracks, like the teeth of a chainsaw.
Gloom stands at about the same size and height as a real-world wolf, though her emaciated state makes her appear smaller. She spends most of her time as a quadruped but can transform into a biped form when the occasion calls for it, by elongating her limbs and mutating her spine. She is completely black in colour, apart from her face, which bears the dull, sleek glint of steel, or some similar metal.

Personality:
Despite her wretched appearance, the Gloom Wolf bears a strong, prideful aura that marks her as a creature not to be trifled with. She carries herself with an air of eerie, teetering grace that says alot about her attitude and otherworldly origins.
Hateful, starving, and uneasy of her unfamiliar surroundings – the Gloom Wolf lives in a highly stressful state of mind, constantly wired, with a hair-trigger temper. Her scrawny body shudders continuously under the effort of always staying alert and ready to fight. Her breath rattles and wheezes, black slime dribbles constantly from her metal jaws. She is diseased and desparate, but that only makes her all the more dangerous. The slightest thing can set her off, turning her into a raging flurry of fang and claw.
It is not surprising, therefore, that Gloom is a difficult creature to converse with. This is often a shame, as past her bloodthirsty state lies an intelligent and pensive mind. In her rare calmer states she is collected and cunning, with an uncanny amount of knowledge at her command. Being eyeless, her form of vision is extrasensory, and this often allows her to learn much more of the world than others would give her credit for.
The Gloom Wolf can speak, though of course it is rare that she should feel the need or want to do so. Those that do manage to hold a conversation would find her to be darkly eloquent, with a twisted sense of humour. Her manner of speaking is unpleasant yet alluring – like the heaviest of human smokers, her voice is low and broken, laced with gurgles and growls. Her voice radiates entirely from her throat, as her jaws are metal and she has no tongue.
The Gloom Wolf is a fairly joyless creature and there are only a few things that she seems to show any enthisiasm for; hunting, chasing and killing. She is an insatiable glutton as nothing she eats seems to make any difference to her body or appetite. Since arriving at the Forest she has also (though she’d never admit to it) become accustomed to speaking with certain inhabitants, mainly for her own amusement, though for the most part she still prefers to seek solitute.

Abilities:
The Gloom Wolf’s most unique and effective ability lies within her vicious steel jaws. Her long fangs are set on two continuous tracks that run through her lower and upper jaws. These can, at Gloom’s will, revolve around her mouth at high speed, like the teeth of a chainsaw, and are designed for the very same reason – they can shred through flesh and bone in less than a second. This startling feature can take a minute or so to power up, and only lasts for short bursts at a time, but generally this is all the Gloom Wolf requires to create a ready-minced meal for herself. The hardest part of this attack is, of course, actually getting within striking range of her prey!
Gloom was born for the hunt, and so she is a naturally agile and fast runner. She can run as fast as a real-world wolf (around 30mph) when her energy levels are good. Her hunting is assisted greatly by the fact that she has no eyes. Instead she sees with a heightened form of extrasensory perception. This allows her to detect her sourroundings faster, and far more effiently, than light-based vision, meaning that she can run at an almost constant, unfaltering pace. Gloom’s successful hunts are rarely due to her being the faster or more powerful creature, but rather because she can simply detect the lay of the land before her prey can.
In addition, the Gloom Wolf can survive very serious injuries, such as excessive blood loss, heavy flesh wounds and damaged organs, but by no means does this mean she is good at healing. In fact, she takes an immensely long time to heal – rather than be allowed a peaceful death, she is made to suffer her grevious inguries, barely clinging to life.
Lastly, since arriving at the forest, Gloom has discovered that she can mutant her body from quadruped to biped. However this is a power that she rarely uses, and not without valid reason, as it uses up a great amount of her already limited energy.

Disadvantages:
The Gloom Wolf’s power can, for the most part, be compared to that of a cheetah. For one thing there is nothing particularly notable about her physical strength. In combat, she is only about as powerful as a large domestic dog, and little more skillful. Secondly, she is not a creature of endurance, but rather built for short bursts of fast, ferocious energy. Lastly, if a hunt should fail, then she is left in dire trouble, having spent a huge amount of energy without anything to restore it with. She was originally a pack-hunter, using team tactics to outwit prey. On her own, though she continues to learn, her failures are numerous. In these cases she has to spend most of her time skulking around, drawing what little energy she can from distant, otherworldy sources...
It should also be noted that sunlight, moonlight, and many forms of light produced by good-natured spells (excluding fire) are extremely harmful to Gloom and cause her great pain. She can only emerge from the shadows when there is sufficient cloud-covering.

Family:
Gloom was once part of a pack, but as none of the Wolves were born by natural means, family means nothing to her, and the only reason she would miss them is because she was more successful at hunting in a group than by herself. Gloom is the only one of her kind in this world.

History:
It is difficult to recall the history of a creature that orginated from a place where time has little meaning. But this much can be said of the Gloom Wolf’s past;
Gloom came to Deep Forest from another dimension, or more specifically, a world within our World. The beings that dwelt inside this place were wretched and aimless, unable to step out of their world and into our own. However, one particular race of humanoid creatures were far more enterprising than the rest. They could be most closely compared to Humans in their relentless pursuit of knowledge, and most importantly, power. They desired, above all else, to step beyond the boundries of their world. Every attempt to do this had so far resulted in instant death, but the beings had plans to change that. With warped minds and no sense of what we would know as Humanity, the experiments the beings performed, usually on living subjects, were grotesque and savage. They would stop at nothing to find a way to place a creature from their world into the Outside dimension.
It was inevitable that Gloom Wolves, being relatively common and easy to locate, were often caught and made to face violent fates at their hands of the humanoids. Our Gloom Wolf, at the time, was just another member of the pack, and nothing more. She just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. What happened to her next, however, would make her unique.
Gloom put up a powerful fight when she was set upon by the humanoids, but unfortnately they were almost as skilled as her when it came to hunting, and they had the addition of ropes and nets. Gloom was dragged unceremoniously back to the humanoids’ laboratory, along with several other Wolves. There, the terrible experiments swiftly began. The details of these experiments are unknown, however it can be said that Gloom was the humanoids’ first success, though not quite as they expected. They merely wanted to place the Wolf ‘Outside’. Instead, they ended up transporting her to an entirely different world. Now, stranded and overwhelmed, the Gloom Wolf has been unleashed onto Deep Forest.

The Gloom Wolf’s prey was desparate now. It had strayed too far from the boundries of Deep Forest, and now was paying the price.

This prey, a deer; a delicate but fully grown doe, was currently running for its life – putting all its energy into this one desparate sprint to safety. It was heading through the wilderness, towards the Edge of the Forest – a place where it could hide from the terrible creature that it was being hunted by. The vast expanse of trees on the horizon grew ever closer in the doe’s eyes, but the terror behind it was getting closer still.

***

The Gloom Wolf had apparated into this world without drama or spectacle. One moment she had been in her own world – bound and restrained almost to choking point by the humanoid creatures that were experimenting on her, and the next moment, she was here. Overwhelmed by disorientation and fatigue, she had crawled unsteadily across the desolate plains, keeping so low that her mangy belly almost dragged along the ground. She kept moving despite having no idea where she was, and as time passed she began draw in more information of her surroundings, and was a little calmer for it. This world was no stranger than her own – the only logical option was to adapt and make the best of it.

As the Gloom Wolf traveled, her surroundings had become gradually lusher. Gloom did not care for pleasant scenery but could sense that life was becoming more abundant the further she progressed, and this meant that there was a possibility of food.

Which brings us now to the lone doe that the Gloom Wolf had chanced upon while picking her way through an uneven area of spiky grass and low, protruding rocks. In its search for good grazing the deer had somehow become separated from its herd. Now it fed nervously, making its way carefully between the rocks, pulling up small flowers and long blades of grass as it went, its ears constantly flicking in all directions and it listened for danger.

The Gloom Wolf had never before seen such a perfectly formed, elegant creature. She could not even begin to imagine how good it would taste, if she could only catch it. Gloom was not much for stealth hunting, but she knew she could not afford the usual bravado and taunting tactics that she adopted when hunting with her pack. So she had crept as quietly as she could towards the deer. On the soft ground the Gloom Wolf’s foot-falls did not create much sound, but she could not disguise her rattling, garbled breathing, and the doe had inevitably heard her.

Not wasting another second, the Gloom Wolf sprang forth with a vicious snarl as the deer bolted, and the chase began.

***

Despite its light-footed elegance and speed, the deer’s hunter was rapidly closing in. The deer’s pace was constantly faltering as it caught its hooves on rocks and dips in the uneven ground. The other creature meanwhile was having no such trouble – she raced straight and true, her pointed head fixed like an arrow on her prey, never wavering once, not even to check her footing.

The doe rolled its large eyes for a fleeting glance back over its shoulder, and in the end that was its downfall. It saw the filthy black fur, the long claws, the the metal cone full of fangs which served as a face – and wailed in desparate panic. Terrified, the doe finally lost its footing completely and stumbled. This was all the Gloom Wolf needed to catch up. The last thing the deer heard was an awful shrieking, buzzing noice as the Gloom Wolf’s chainsaw teeth revved into action, and then it was over.

***

At the Edge of the Forest, blood soaked the grass. The deer’s remains were a mess – torn to several pieces and strewn across the clearing by the Wolf’s horrific attack.

The Gloom Wolf ate frantically – a deep-rooted paranoia of being challenged or otherwise interupted at any given moment. This feeling was only intensified by the sheer amount of life she could sense within the looming forest. She had never felt anything like it, and she cowered before it as she fed – tearing off great chunks of bloody flesh, throwing her head back and gulping it down – in a similar manner to a bird, as she had no capacity to chew.

Surely, she thought, it was only a matter of time before whatever was in that forest came out to attack her...

OOC-mind if I join?

Nyx had regained some energy, and was on her feet. Her mind was roaming when the train of thought was shattered by the cry of prey giving up all hope. The sound was followed by an ear splitting screech of something she had never encountered before, and at once curiosity took over. Flattening so her belly brushed the soft grass, the night leopard inched forward as though she were stalking prey. As the tree line thinned out, Nyx instinctively unsheathed her claws and felt them sink into the ground.
She nearly choked as her heart leapt into her throat as a gap in the forest opened up to show her a...well she didn’t know what to call it. So the female froze, muscles bunched and ready to flee or fight if need be. Her ears flattened as she prayed the wind was blowing toward her and not the other way around. Light green gaze dropped from the creature, to the deer and her mouth immediately started to water at the thought of sinking her teeth into the food. Yet the wild cat held her ground, knowing all too well how stupid it would be of her to march out there. Parting her jaws and displaying rows of sharp teeth, Nyx crinkled her nose as the stench of the being reached her. It wasn’t horrible, but it held a faint wisp of something dark, whether it be the wolf like creature, or whatever it had lived with before now.

(OOC: Please do. :) )

The Gloom Wolf's frantic feeding - twitchy, jerking movements as she wrenched impatiently at the deer carcass - came to a sudden and unnerving halt as the leopard drew near. She froze as if turned to stone. The flesh still dangling from her mouth, the blood dripping from her teeth, were the only things left in motion.

This deathly still pose she held for a disquieting amount of time before, with equal suddenness, the Wolf jerked her pointed head upwards, her jaws snapping shut with a metallic clang.

There was a sense - not a scent, for the creature had no nostrils to speak of - a sense that another being was particularly close by. Or was her perception becoming muddled and overwhelmed by the forest's bloated life-force? Imaginary or not, the Gloom Wolf did not appreciate being watched. Spying from the shadows was supposed to be her job.

Paranoia was mounting quickly. The Gloom Wolf's skewed, erratic instincts were pushing her to leap blindly into the undergrowth in an attempt to flush out whatever was hiding there, or might be hiding there.

Trembling, all four gangly legs splayed wide as she stood before the forest, Gloom slowly parted her vicious jaws and uttered a low, gurgling snarl. Then, as if shocked into action by electric current, the monster launched herself forwards with a flailing, flying leap, chainsaw teeth revving up for the kill...

(OCC: This a completely blind leap - it's up to you how closes she gets. :) )

Nyx froze herself, muttering curses over and over at her curiosity. Well, curiosity did kill the cat after all. The black leopard felt herself flinch when the creature swallowed with a metallic clang. It didn’t have eyes or a nose, but it knew she was standing, hidden, among the shadows. Claws that had been in the ground, started to dig up chunks of dirt as the wolf continued to look at her without seeing her.
Green eyes shot wide at the sudden leap the being made. She couldn’t tell whether it was to attack or not. The cat reared onto her back legs, gritting her teeth as another metallic sound shot through the air. She found herself loosing balance in her attempt to walk backwards on two legs as the stranger landed less than a foot in front of her. Wait, that sound came from that?!
I am so dead. She thought to herself as she landed on the ground with a thud.
”Who are you?” Nyx called in a rather menacing voice, up on her feet in an instant.
Whatever this creature was, it was clearly not friendly and the leopard wasn’t about to let the metal mouth get her into the open.

Had the leopard not taken that moment to speak, the Gloom Wolf would have thrown herself straight at the animal's throat without hesitation.

The disheveled creature landed ungracefully and whirled round, teetering unsteadily on bony legs, to face her adversary. Now focussed fully on Nyx, the Gloom Wolf had immediately tensed herself for another leap, but the other animal's voice was enough to make her pause. Never, in her life, had the Gloom Wolf ever been spoken to. She stayed frozen in readiness to pounce, tortured body held low, breathing heavily, black slime dripping slowly from parted jaws. It took a few moments for the leopard's question to register. 'Who are you?' It was a good question. Who was she? The Gloom Wolf had never bothered to consider such things.

Throughout the uneasy silence the Gloom Wolf took time to consider the animal in front of her. Another distressingly beautiful, perfectly formed creature. A powerful, lithe and healthy form - fur, dark like hers yet so sleek and impeccably groomed, dappled with handsome spots. Gloom had a low feeling that this trend would continue, and she was already beginning to feel a terrible spite for this luscious new world.

The Wolf slowly tilted her head, and found herself wondering if she had any ability to answer the leopard's question. The creature began to growl strangely as she sought for her voice. She recalled a word she’d heard the humanoids from her own world use quite often. It seemed to have particular relevance to them, so perhaps it had relevance to her as well.

The Gloom Wolf parted her jaws a little wider, and a terrible rasping gurgle issued from her throat, which slowly began to form a word,

“Gllllooo-ooo-o-o-o-mmmm….”

(OOC) Hope you don't mind a third ^^

After finishing crying, intent on finding new trolls. Duh Deday gets up and starts walking along the forest edge. On his walk he hears a loud noise, like metal striking metal. He wanders toward the sound to see a large wolf like creature and a leopard, looking like they were about to kill one another Duh walked forward so both of them could see him.

"Hullo," Says Duh, "Is all OK? No smashing right? I don't like smashing of others."

Nyx stood stock still as everything went deadly silent. She could almost see herself being critisized in the mind of this wolf. The leopard seemed to look past the dripping metal jaws of the creature as she waited for an answer. Maybe stalling was the key, even though both were still in a crouch, ready to spring at a moments notice, the other hadnt attacked her yet. It seemed...counfused at the words spoken to her. At first, a noise like a gurgle came from the deep pits of the stranger's throat. The black cat shrank lower, thinking that something horrible was about to happen. Then it spoke.
"Gloom?" She repeated, tilting her head a little to the side.
It became clear that the name was given to her, whether she liked it or not.
"Hi, Gloom." She said slowly, before her head whipped around to a new sound approching.
Yet another creature came forth, one who didnt like fights by the looks of it. Smashing? Did this new stranger mean a fight? Nyx mearly flicked her ears at the new comer before turning back to Gloom.

(OOC: So sorry for the delay!D8 )

Agitated and unsure of how to react to this new situation, the Gloom Wolf rose up from her pouncing stance, and tossed her pointed head at the sound of the other creature's casual reply.

"Hah!" She exclaimed sharply, half at the infuriating leopard, half to again test her broken, gurgling excuse for a voice. She wasn't sure if she had always had the ability to make words, or if it was simply a condition of this new dimension.

In a careless, threatening manner, the Gloom Wolf began to slowly and repeatedly rake her long talons through the turf beneath her forepaws.

"Where...are we?" she rasped at Nyx, tipping her head on one side in a curiously bird-like gesture. There was an eerie slicing sound of steel against steel as the Wolf slowly parted her jaws once more, as if grinning.

Just then, a loud thump and crash of something large moving through the foliage caused the Gloom Wolf to start, her already spiked hackles rising further. She swept round at the same time as Nyx, to behold the being which had stumbled so carelessly into the middle of their confrontation.

Low and guttural, the Gloom Wolf began once again to snarl. She ignored Duh's slow speech, instead taking that moment to raise her head upwards as she took in every eight feet of the towering monster which now stood in front of her. It appeared brutish, dull-witted, though undoubtedly very strong. But Gloom had never been the sort to fuss about her opponents.

The Wolf wrenched her jaws open wide and reared back, then came that terrible ear-splitting screech as her chainsaw teeth whizzed into action. She threw herself at the troll, strangely not aiming for his throat as a normal predator might, but at his right shoulder. Her aim was to sever the troll's arm with one clear sweep of her deadly revolving fangs. This brute would pay for its stupidity by providing the Gloom Wolf with a substantial meal...

(hope you don't mind if i join in?...noticed its been a while since the last post)

The noise of the commotion had carried further threw the depths of the forest, catching a more malevolent creatures attention.
He crept slowly upon the forest grounds, Transparent from head to tail and walking directly threw the very plants and trees, avoiding any signs of a physical presence.

Finally a gap within the brambles allowed the black Shuck to finally see where the sounds had come from. He moved his scrawny body as low as possible, practically lying down in the muddy earth whilst watching the creatures closely with amusement.

Luckily for them he was not out for a meal, as his hunger pain had been soothed from the flesh of a family of boars. He Smiled mischievously from the though of haunting thees quarreling creatures, if the Opportunity arose.

(Myth: Hey there! ^^ Yes you are most welcome. The two other characters have disappeared without a trace, so I'll write them out of the plot for the time being and we can carry on without them.)
(Imogen, wherever you are: I'm going to have to control your character a bit for this - nothing fatal, though!)

The troll reacted out of pure instinct, flinging up one massive tree-trunk of an arm in front of his face as the Gloom Wolf flew at him, jaw agape with whirling steel fangs. There was a thud and a sickening crack as Duh slammed his fist into the Wolf's ribs, knocking her off her deadly course without a second to spare. Though not quite soon enough to completely dodge those spinning teeth, which grazed across the troll's shoulder as the Gloom Wolf was flung past him, sending up a vicious splatter of blood. A nasty flesh-wound, though relatively small to the heavy-set troll, who howled in surprise and pain, clutching at his bleeding shoulder and reeling back into the trees.

Spinning like a broken rag-doll, the force of Duh's punch sent the Gloom Wolf tumbling down a ditch, deep into the undergrowth. Far from the sight of the leopard and the troll, Gloom's journey came to a sudden halt as she crashed into the rotting trunk of a felled tree.

For a long time she simply lay there in a tangled heap, strangled breath wheezing and rattling wetly. A broken rib jutted from her matted flank, black and slick with her putrid internal fluids. A long and terrible sound issued from the Gloom Wolf's throat - the despairing moan of a creature that had felt the sting of failure one too many times.

This awful moaning presently faded to silence as the Gloom Wolf became aware of another presence nearby. Lying like a dead thing amongst the tangled weeds, the Wolf growled quietly and moved her head a little, trying to orientate herself.

Her usually astute senses jangled by the troll's attack, for a moment she thought she was sensing a creature from her own realm, but the illusion was dispelled as she wriggled onto her front, shaking her pointed head in a sickly, broken manner. No, it was not a creature of Gloom, but a creature of intense darkness, nonetheless.

Something was definitely close, but Gloom could not yet see exactly what it was, or where it was. It was cloaked in some way - shielded from the the full force of her extrasensory perception.

"Come......here....." The Gloom Wolf rasped.

(Awesomeness :grin )

The Hellhound's brow rose from the surprising blow, as he saw the black wolf-like creature get flung through the air by the troll's powerful swipe.
He almost flinched when thinking of the pain that would have come from such a hit, but soon regained his devilish smile and snicked quietly from the entertaining display.

The Sudden Sound of a painful cry made the Black hounds Ears flatten against his head. He turned round as his curiosity called to him, wishing to seek out the fallen predator. The sent was of something he'd never known off, From his eyes the creature looked half dead, as it lay almost motionless. He Was but a few meters away before it began to move and call out to him, somehow able to sense his presence even when clocked within the darkness of the spirit world.

He Let out a unearthly chuckle, amused by the small wolf's wheezing words.
" Well, well, well...what do we have here? " He questioned with a extremely deep bassy voice, that sent small vibrations threw the very air itself.

"...How do you know of my presence small one?" He added, As he slowly walked out into the clearing from where the Gloom wolf fell.

He Noticed that the creature had no physical eyes on witch he saw upon its smooth pointed head, So felt safe to step back into the earth realm completely. A Large heavy paw stepped froward into view, from witch grew upwards reveling a torso, head, hind and a long sweeping tail from witch a small spiritual flame flickers upon its tip.
Grimyth smiled from ear to ear, as he sat staring that the wolf in admiration.

(OOC: Much obliged, Forgerofsouls! I guess Myth and I will continue this rp to some manner of conclusion before I head elsewhere. :thumbsup )

The Gloom Wolf sat up and tilted her head in curiosity as the beast revealed himself - his large, imposing form becoming clear and bright in the Wolf's eyeless sight.

"Aaaaah...." Gloom gurgled loudly, with the sudden need to clear her throat. She wrenched her head back, unlocking her jaws and retching horribly as she coughed up a great clot of black ooze over her front paws. The creature shook her head loosely, splattering stringy slime in all directions. When that was done she looked up at the great Shuck once again.

"....'Small'? Hmmm..." The Gloom Wolf angled her oddly long neck first to the right, then to the left, in observation. She had never really thought of herself as being small, but she was indeed half the size of the animal standing before her with a bloody, tooth-filled grin across his dark face. Forever expecting the need to fight, the Gloom Wolf tensed herself. She did however feel an unusual desire to communicate with this particular being, as it was after all the most familiar-looking thing she'd encountered so far.

Slowly, Gloom rose to her feet, her bony legs shaking with the effort. She kept her conical face fixed directly at Grimyth.

"I...hurt. Again. Again I must hurt. Damned creature. Damned things everywhere. Why are there so many things in this place, hm?"

Grimyth almost took a step back as he watched the creature in front of him contorted its body into an upright position, raising to his level on its hind legs. It sounded painful, and He was not sure if it was due to its previous Encounter or not.

He thought The Wolf was about to attack, but realised soon enough that was not the case as words met the Hellhounds long bat like ears. He pondered at the question, unsure what to say.
It was true from his previous encounters that this place was different, He was not the only animal that could talk, nore was he the biggest of creatures anymore. Nore Did they fear his kind as much as the humans did back from his land.

Grimyth then chuckled as a Answer for the Gloom wolf's Question entered his dark mind.

"There Are Many things, many things... for Hunger to be satisfied with my Shinny toothed friend" Grimyth responded, thinking of his last meal as he licked the drool from his jaws.
"...But this land it strange to me...No Men Live here, only the hideously perfect looking Creatures." Grimyth growled from the irritating thought of his former life and its Envious beauty.

"...But atleast they always taste sweet" He added.

Re: The Gloom Wolf.

The Gloom Wolf's long, tattered ears - usually held low against her head - perked up a little as she listened Grimyth's words with great interest.

No men live here....

Humans had stepped into the Gloom Wolf's world on occasion, but they were always either killed by one of her kind (or some other lurking horror), or dragged away to be turned into one of the Hollow people - the spiny doll-faced wretches who had been performing awful experiments on the Gloom Wolf in the moments before she had been transported to this new place.

So....If there were no men, that meant no Hollows, and if there were no Hollows...then perhaps Deep Forest could yet prove to be an improvement.

Gloom cackled and nodded slowly at Grimyth's comment on the taste, and sheer abundance, of the local wildlife. Wholesome food was hard to find in Gloom's world, with human flesh being a rare and highly sought-after treat. But the deer she had feasted upon earlier had tasted sweeter even than that. That, the Wolf grudgingly had to admit, was another definite plus.

Many worries still plagued the creature however, the main issue being the growing sense of unease that the dimension she had been placed in was not surrounded by walls and ceilings as her world had been. The Gloom Wolf understood little of the physics of her own world - to try and explain it to another being could prove challenging. But this demon dog seemed intelligent and patient, and as an outsider himself, perhaps he would be worth confiding in.

So the Gloom Wolf asked Grimyth, in a low and careful tone,

"This place, this world....Is it Inside, or Outside?"

Grimyth Stretched his back and neck, sending many cracking and grinding sounds into the air. "hummm..." he pondered as he looked up into the canopy of the tall trees.

"...I would say Outside, in this world there is sky, land that stretches for miles and water deeper than the woodland we now stand in. The nights a cooling, blissful and only sometimes lite by full moonlight. Yet there is the Grate ball of fire, the sun of the day sky...for me it burns and so in open ground, I'm forced to hide within the darkness of the shadow realm until nightfall." Grimyth rambled doing his best to explain the world that they stood in, he pondered in thought as he stared at the Gloom Wolf once more, unsure on how it was possible for it to know of his presence, but not know of its surroundings.
He leaned forward slightly, sniffing the creatures sent and taking in information on where it has come from, but within a few minutes confusion came over his mind as the sent was nothing he'd ever came across before in either of the worlds he roamed. Looking at the gloom wolf closely he gazed at the spectacular rows of teeth within its pointed arrow shaped head. He was unsure if he'd found another hellhound, or if it was a completely different creature altogether. He tilted his head side way then scratched his wiry neck fur with his hind leg.

"How is it, you knew of my presence before, yet cannot see this world on witch we stand in? I have not come across other dark hounds before...I've not even met my own kin. So forgive me if i seem foolish in asking."

The Gloom Wolf tipped her head and opened her drooling mouth in such a way as she appeared to be grinning at Grimyth, though her steely jaws remained as hard and inexpressive as ever.

To the Wolf, of course, this seemed like an obvious thing to ask. To a creature that, up until now, was simply there, and had never thought to question her own existence, the inquiry was as interesting to her as it was to the hell-hound.

"I suppose that could be answered with another question, oh fiery one. How is that I see anything at all? There is no room in my head for eyes such as yours, hellish though they are. The workings of my sight are unknown even to me, but I know enough, from my endless days of hunting and creeping, to say that it is different from the sight of most creatures with eyeballs in their skulls."

It was a lot of speaking for a creature that had never spoken before. It was clear that the Gloom Wolf was gaining eloquence with each sentence she uttered, though her tone remained guttural and strained. Her devastating wounds still tortured her greatly - the sickly flow of dark blood from her ruined flank had only just begun to ebb. With a bubbling cough the Gloom Wolf promptly sat back on her haunches before continuing.

"Whatever the means, I can trace beings and objects before they appear in plain sight. What I suspect is in fact solid appears translucent to me. I see things in layers, you could say."

Gloom paused again briefly to regard the hell-hound. If Grimyth was at all concerned about how she had detected his approach, then he was not showing it. He displayed only an air of lazy interest, it seemed. Nevertheless, Gloom could not resist the urge to try and provoke the glowing beast.

"Do not worry, great hound," She drawled, "Your cloaking skills remain un-bested. Before you revealed yourself to me fully, I could not detect what you were, only that there was something lurking. As for your other comment, I cannot see this world properly because..." The Wolf flattened her pointed ears against her head in a resentful manner. "...Because I do not fully understand it. Not yet."

Grimyth listened with interest, amused when realising the both of them was in a way new to this place, yet from the gloomwolf's words it sounded as if they had never set foot on the realm he knows as Earth.

"The Spirit realm is quite smiler to what u describe...not exactly the same, but close. Its a slight relief to know my cloak has yet to be uncovered completely, There's been close times, yet mostly on purpose for the fun of being ghostly " He replied trying to relate to the goloomwolf, chuckling again at his own amusing comment.

His ears raised slightly, after gazing closer at the glooms thick matted coat. it crossed his mind that that she was in fact more wounded than he realised, seeing the glimmer from the dark blood dripping. He raised his paw, gesturing it towards the wolf.

"I..er..i could help with that if you like,..." He offered, closing his huge hand like paws to let the hot tar-like substance emanate from the pads, playing with the substance between his toes and dew claw. Often when wounded in hunting this was his quickest remedy to stop the blood escaping. "stings a bit at first...but stops the blood from escaping and heals a bit faster than normal."
