Breaking the Rules

Post by Gaeva Winged Unicorn »

OOC
RP rules that is, forum rules still apply ^_~

I'm curious to see if we can do an over the top RP with everything that should normally be avoided like godmoding, 4th wall breaking, taking over other people's characters, going out of character, conjuring up new abilities on the spot, and all that other lovely kind of crap that healthy RPers should avoid for the sensible (and rightful) fear of getting banned, yet still keep it fun and entertaining, and even have a sort of storyline to work with. So I'm not talking about a spam thread with just one nonsense post after the other, but actual RPing, but with all the wrong tools. I've seen it done before and it looked like fun, let's see if it can be done here.

You'll need to have some selfdiscipline to see how far you can go and not ruin things for others, an incredibly large amount of sense of humour to accept whatever is going to happen, and some creative fantasy to make this work. Make up a new character (it will probably be taken over anyway) or bring in somebody we already know.

That's it :grin

Because I'm boring like that I'm starting it in Deep Forest and using Gaeva. Have fun ^_^

The dark colored image that served as the admin's avatar remained as it was, silent and unmoving the way any jpg file should behave. As the forum went quiet and the Who is Online application showed there really hadn't been any activity for at least five minutes, the avatar suddenly expanded to show the entire scene within the image. The lavender unicorn depicted sighed and swished her tail. Posing was just plain boring, even if it was to provide pretty scenery for a rather awesome RP board. she looked up into the dark night -the reason for making the small image so dark- and decided to go for a walk. A unicorn could only stand by a piece of water for so long, especilly when said water isn't even visible on the image said unicorn is posing for!

Trotting off with a smile Gaeva pretty soon grew bored. It was way too quiet here, was everybody asleep or something? That just wouldn't do! Rearing up onto her hind legs Gaeva released a defeaning trompet-like blare from her horn, instantly banishing the stars and the moon from the dark sky above to be replaced by a sun rising faster than the blink of an eye. Sastisfied the mare looked up and around, and decided it was noon.

"Wake up sleepyheads! You're going to miss everything!"

For good measure the unicorn mare reached out of a few computer screens to tap some random RPers on their shoulder with her hoof, impatiently motioning to them to log on so their characters could come and entertain her already!

Ruby snorted and jumped to her feet. "What the hell?" One moment, she had been quietly sleeping in a corner of her creator's hard drive, the next she found herself back on the internet in a place she'd been reliably informed she had 'departed from'. "Oh, I hope some idiot hasn't dragged me into anything again!" She snorted again, glad for her new adult form, and stormed forwards until she found Gaeva.
"Hey! Just what the hell do you think you're doing?" she called, stomping the ground like a petulant child until it shook. "I'M ANGRY ABOUT THIS!"

((OOC: Well, it's certainly fun so far... :D))

Gaeva was extremely pleased to see grown up Ruby appear and grinned happily at the approaching equine. Sure the other wasn't supposed to be here and as far as Gaeva had known was supposed to be a child, but perfect as the lavender mare was she instantly understood the holy magic of RP had been used to make this possible. Wisely she nodded her head to nobody in particular.

"Ruby! Good, I was expecting you!" Because of course she had been. "I'm sorry if you're angry, wait..." Skipping to the side Gaeva reached inside into a hollow tree with her wing, then pulled out a large, green and black checkered cloth. Walking over to Ruby she gracefully threw the item over the other's back, then smiled at her in satisfaction.

"I present: The Happy Blanket!" She snorted once, "There, now you're no longer angry, that should make things a lot easier."

Ruby was not long the only one to find something unexpected on her back. Miles above in the blue sky, there was a twinkle, of the sort created when anime characters are 'blasting off again.' Something hurtled downward from it, clouds whooshing past. As missiles went, it was... an odd one. The blur coalesced into a strange sight: a brown-haired smiling boy in a dive, gray donkey ears stretching from the sides and top of his head and a long matching tail trailing behind. A bit before breaching the tree line -- still a good distance from the ground in Deep Forest -- he broke the dive and began to somersault forward, the tail making it look like a horridly inefficient buzzsaw in profile. At last, the young man landed in a sit on the absolutely-not-pink unicorn's back, touching down delicately enough that she would not even have known he was there, if not for the sudden weight. And the tickling of his tail as it swished back and forth in delight.

The unique trumpeting of Gaeva had extended to the mind of Gaius, where a group of individuals jumped at the call. They had been denied their chance of becoming proper UV characters, so the precursors to Devon -- from a prince who learned not to be stingy when lost in a desert and a mysterious donkey peddler just happens to pass by, to a guy who learned that breakups are especially hard when the girlfriend's mother is a vengeful witch -- weren't going to miss an appearance in a one-shot. Granted, most were lukewarm at best about their conditions, but at least it would be something to do. However, over the heads and long ears of the stampede leaped the enthusiastic child who would claim the prize. He touched down gracefully, grabbed the other kid in attendance -- the original front-runner for Devon's spot, one of the few to get a name, and practically identical to the more pro-active child discounting fur appearance and personality -- and then hurtled through to proper character-dom.

Where, having apparently become one with the second boy, he rather liked it. Eyes and ears darted about, drinking things in. Just from the lavender unicorn he was seated upon and the blanketed red one close by, it seemed a more colorful place. He decided the two equines might prefer he join their club, and he was all too happy to comply. His limbs, torso and head changed shape, mostly gray fur rippling over him as his human clothes vanished, and his hands and feet melded into hooves. At last, a creature looking like a miniature version of Devon sat on Gaeva's back, tail still aswish. Unaware or uncaring how odd it looked to have a small donkey sitting upright on a unicorn's back, he lifted a forehoof in greeting and brayed a 'hello.'

Devon, too far to know any of this, but close enough for the RP Magic to affect him, felt a strange, irresistible impulse. Sticking his right elbow out to the side, he brought the hoof to the side of his muzzle and declared, "I shall call him Mini-Me." He then shook his head, wondering what had brought that on, and beginning to worry that the strange plant he'd had with dinner (before Gaeva decided that afternoon was more awesome) had been cannabis after all.

((OOC: Aye, this looks to be a lot of fun. :P Sorry that it's kinda long))

Michael had been sleeping peacefully during the night well into the morning, waiting for his computer to finish downloading something. When suddenly a loud noise woke him from his slumber. After rubbing his eyes to get rid of the remaining sleep there he wondered over to his computer, forgetting for a second about the loud noise. As he turned the monitor on, he looked a the download timer. "Great, still over six hours till its finished." As he stretched and prepared to do his morning exercises and rituals he stared in awe as a hoof attached to a lavender horse leg reached out and tapped him on the shoulder. He grabbed onto the leg curiously as it vanished back into his monitor taking him along with it! He closed he eyes as a reflex as his head came quickly towards the monitor.

He felt nothing, but the light of a noon sun on him. He also felt strangely heavy. Opening his eyes he found himself in a forest him massive trees. Looking at himself he found himself he found himself to be wearing a heavy black robe with silver trimming. A simple black belt kept the robe tied close to him at the waist. Underneath he wore black pants with a black t-shirt. His short unkempt black hair hidden underneath the robe's hood. His hands had on black fingerless gloves. He blinked his brown eyes as he looked around wondering what in the world happened. But, he realized, the robe, while heavy wasn't what was weighing him down. There was a weight on his back, and two other weights on his hips underneath the robe. Feeling at the weights on his sides, he realized one was a large hammer of sorts while the other was a sword of sorts. He reached behind him and drew forth the item on his back. He found himself holding a rather well made naganata. Perplexed at what happened he decided just to place it back on his back.

Then he heard noises nearby and decided to investigate. After all they were voices. And that meant people. Maybe someone would be able to tell him what happened. But when he came to the area of the voices he stopped upon coming into view. For what he sees surprises him. A lavender colored winged unicorn. The other he didn't recgonize. But the more he thought about it, the more it seamed impossible. Could he be face to face with Geava? The main unicorn in his favorite RP site? Scratching his head. He realized that couldn't be, for he was still human, and humans were not allowed at UV! So he figured that couldn't be the case. "Hello, where am I? And how did I get sucked through my computer's monitor to here?" Than suddenly another figure appeared out of no where...

OOC
No more Ruby?

IC
Gaeva was carefully adjusting the cloth she had spread over Ruby, tugging it just right, letting the black and green squares that addorned it form clean, straight lines all over her body. It was pretty much the same thing as brushing somebody's clothing to get rid of unwanted materials of microscopic, or sometimes even imaginary, size. When she was finally satisfied the mare took a step back, smiling happily, to admire her handiwork: Ruby wearing a blanket. Of course with all her tugging and adjusting, gaeva had managed to pull the cloth over the other mare's head, effectively hiding her almost entirely from view.

A persistant tickling on her back she had somehow managed to ignore suddenly became more evident after a disembodied voice sounded a greeting. Surprised Gaeva turned her head around and realized there was a weight on her back as well, which had also escaped her notice while she'd been very busy with other things.

"Why hello there, Devon!" she called out cheerfully once her surprise had passed, "I didn't know you could shrink yourself like that! What an amazing trick it is!" Because of course she was very familiar with Devon and the way he looks, even though she had never so much as exchanged a single sentence of conversation with him in RP. This supreme wisdom based on something that has never happened could explain why she did not realize this was not the real Devon, though one could argue he could be related to him by sharing the same creator.

At that point the black robed one appeared, making the mare stare at him with wide open eyes for a few moments as he voiced his question. Not answering right away Gaeva continued to stare at him, her eyes traveling up and down in what appeared to be a searching glance that seized him up. Still without a word the mare then bent a front leg to rest on the ground, quickly followed by the other, to end up kneeling with her head tucked in respectfully, yet launching Mini-Devon straight forwards with the sudden movement.

"Welcome, oh mighty Creator!" she called out while remaining in the same position, "I am honored to welcome one of the Divine Designers to Deep Forest!"

((OOC: Here's some more Ruby to make up for her sudden disappearance! xD))

Ruby looked around at the inside of the 'happy cloak' or whatever Geava had called it. "Yay, I'm happy!" she cried, jumping around in her joy. Her exuberance caused her to kick and then knock over the creature on Geava's back (that she hadn't noticed) and then slip on a random wet leaf and promptly fall over. For a moment, she simply lay there, but soon gravity decided to pull her down the slight slope she was lying on, and the crimson-coloured unipeg began to roll. "Wheeee~!" she cried, rolling along much smoother than a horse should rightly be able to, and rather quickly smashing into the nearby human like a bowling ball. "Whoops!" she muttered, sitting up and finally shaking the cloak off her head. "Didn't see you there, human-creator-guy! Where are your characters?"

((OOC: Blah, short post. Feeling uncreative, but wanted to contribute a little bit more anyway. :D))

So, it was no joke, Micahel was deffently in Deep Forest, how he got there, and for what reasons he did not know. But still what he couldn't understand was why Geava had just addressed him the way she did. It took him by surprise. But, so did the rolling of the one in the Happy Cloak. Which had decided to use him as a bowling pin, knocking him over said bowlingcorn. Lifting himself off the ground and back to his feet he heard the question. But before he could say that he didn't know where they were he suddenly did in fact know where they where.

"Klinge is in the Elven Village helping some elves move furniture, Silver is eating a deer that had a broken leg so he decided to put it out of its missery and eat it, Lyrial is trying to learn how to cook, so far the results aren't going so well, and Sera is annoying Silent near the river. Atleast Silent thinks she is annoying." He blinked an obvious look of confusion on his face. "And why do I know this? Surely this is just an alternate dimension that I was somehow sucked into through my computer screen, and has nothing to do with the rping forums that I play at?"

((Topic looks like it'd be so much fun, must put my foor in the door :D ))

Darkness, nothing but deep darkness pierced occasionally by the fiery fox that appeared hours on end durning the day.

“NOOOOOOO! That voice again. I thought it was gone” A lone voice whinnied in terror from within the deep.

“Shaddup yeah stupeh unicorn” the formless voice of a belligerent old man quipped in reply. “Es prolleh jes that stupid magic fox messin with yer head like he always does.”

“Intriguingly it is not me this time, my drunken friend, plus mine is the power of illusion and not sound. If indeed the psychotic one does hear the narrator again it may mean something unusual has occurred.” This time a smaller voice with a Scottish brogue.

“Yay! It be story time now maybe. Maybe this time that big bad mean armored guy will go boom dead. Serves him right for making bazillions of zombies and cold zombie dragons and all to try destroy whole world.” A fourth voice, much more child like in tone.

The darkness parted a small ways into the distance revealing a single purple flower. As if it had opened a flood gate the darkness spit and illuminated the shapeless area in shades of pink. There stood in completely neutral and unoriginal stances a fox, a small dragon, a pinto unicorn, and the ugliest little man you ever did see.

“Come to think of it you are pretty ugly aren’t you?”

The midget gave the unicorn a dirty look, made even dirtier by his grossly disproportionate eyes and nose but turned his attention toward the flower. “Tha ell is dat thin’?” he slurred.

“It appears to be…”

“The Internet colon capital ‘D’!” Squealed the dragon, completely interrupting the little fox.

“Internet? Wait… that mensh” Mused the midged before racing toward the flower, “So long sukahs!” he jeered back at them. “Ahm gonna scape tah tha interneh, be rid of you losahs, and get mahself some good quality rum!”

The little man reached the flower and broke an empty bottle behind him to dissuade the others from following. Internet looked different, but who cared!

“Lesseh here; Rules… who cares about those, inhabah… haba… ah who cares, aardvartish whatever that ish, away from… well as long as ish away from those guys."

With that the midget deftly strode toward the topic, tripped over a <div>, and fell twelve subforms in three tables toward the bottom of the page, just barely managing to slip into Hidden Visions Reflected and avoiding a sharp land next to the Yahoo [Bot].

So instead of landing next to a Yahoo [Bot] he landed directly on top of a black hooded figure, crumpling them both to the ground.

“Thansh fer the landin gotho.” The ungly midget guffawed, manifesting a large bottle of rum in his left hand though the power of the internet.
