(ooc: Yeah, and its been a little bit since my lasts posts here....gah...! Stupid muse left me a note and said it was going on vacation! lol )

Lyrial nodded her head as she listened to what Zero was said as far as what he knew about what was going on. Of course, there were a few things that he said that made Lyrial guess about what he was trying or maybe someone else he knew had tried. "Yeah, actually, singularity pulses and oscillating gravitron waves are more for creating wormholes and black holes and other such holes. But not for dimensional travel. In fact, if someone used the wrong pulses or wave lengths, they could actually not only distrubt the quantium pyhsics and temporal holdings of the planet they are on, but they have a low chance of destroying their planet, solar system, galaxy, or even their entire universe. Of course that is bad, but worse case senerio is that they may just erase their entire universe and its timeline from existance. Which would mean that is someone was talking to a dimensional traveler and their time line was erased, they would suddenly disappear right in front of the person and that person wouldn't know what was going on or who they were talking to, just that they were talking with someone. But that someone is gone, erased, never existed. So it is best to never use singularity pulses or oscillating gravitron waves for dimensional travel. In fact, anything that has "singularity" or "gravitron" in its name is not to be used for that purpose. Instead, you would be better off with Infinity Pulse Waves." She finished.

She than turned and walked over to the circle. Glad for once that despite being a child, her long life and long centuries, milleniums, and even eons in school. If she was human comfroted with such a thought she would have commited suicide a long time ago. But she wasn't human and thus suicide was never an answer. Once she was close to the main circle she turned back towards everyone. "I'm sorry, but there will be no dancing. Instead each of you will be standing in the center of each of the smaller circles. I will be standing in the northern one. That is the main circle. Once everyone is in place I will begin casting the main portion of the spell. When I start chanting, everyone else needs to start chanting to. But you will not be saying what I will be saying. Nor do I think any of you could. Instead, each of you will be saying "Za'te Ill'na Ra'te Ill'na Ze'te Ill'ne Re'te Ill'ne Zi'te Ill'ni Ri'te Ill'ni Zo'te Ill'no Ro'te Ill'no Zu'te Ill'nu Ru'te Ill'nu". It is important that you say it slowly. But it isn't important that you say it at the same time. So you can say it at different rates. And once you finish with "Ill'nu" you are to repeat the entire thing starting with "Za'te". Everyone understand?" Lyrial said, the little chant that she wanted everyone to say seamed to hold some sort of power in them, though they did nothing when she spoke them.

Lyrial knew at once that they would be confused. So she decided to repeat what she just said, or at least just the chant. "Remeber it is "Za'te Ill'na Ra'te Ill'na Ze'te Ill'ne Re'te Ill'ne Zi'te Ill'ni Ri'te Ill'ni Zo'te Ill'no Ro'te Ill'no Zu'te Ill'nu Ru'te Ill'nu". Nice and slow." She said. Puffle and Zero, the two of you while chanting are to have your hands like this. Aimed at the ship."[/color] She demonstrated by placing her right hand so that it was palm away from her directly in front, all fingers and the thumb pointing straight in the same direction as the rest of the hand, the hand was tilted upwards towards her left at a 45 degree angle. Her left hand mimicked the right hand except it was behind the right hand. "As you do while chanting you will feel energy coursing through your body, it is harmless and the energy will actually feel good. It will than gather in your hands before erupting at the ship. The energy will come out white, but it will eventually form a black sphere around the ship." She explained dropping her hands to her side. She then looked directly at Simi. "Simi! Don't worry about hands and what not. You got a better power conduit than the rest of us. Your horn! All you got to do while chanting is to aim your horn at the ship and everything will proceed just fine. Don't worry about me. I will be conducting the entire universe during the procedure. But with the three of you helping channel the energy everything will be fine." Lyrial finished than turned towards the ship.

"And Zero, you should take notes of the energy and how it felt. For even though at its base it is divine energy being used. It is being turned into Infinity Pulse Waves. Thought you would like to know." She said turning her head in his direction smiling. She than started to head towards the northern circle.

Zero had no idea Lyrial was versed in ways of magic as well as science, and he looked on with a sort of awe as she detailed the appropriate uses of the things he had made mention of.

Instead, you would be better off with Infinity Pulse Waves."

That was quite a bit of information for the little Nekojin to take in. He may have been vastly intelligent for someone his age, but this was in strong part due to having quite the well-versed teacher, Miss Washuu Hakubi, the self-proclaimed Greatest Scientific Genius in all the Universe. Even she had some difficulty teaching the nekojin things, as he often required points to be repeatedly hammered into his little head before they 'stuck'. He did want to defend himself on one thing, though.

"I might put mahself in danger more often than a sane person'd consider reasonable, but I dun put others in the same spot! I wasn't really sure what kind of bad stuff mighta happened if I went tinkerin with space and stuff, but I always went prepared! I dun mess with time out in the open, all those kind of experiments take place inside the Chaos Cube! Miss Washuu helped me make it, it's like an entirely seperate universe all unto itself contained in a cube about the size of an office! I've done all sorts of neat stuff with it! A friend of mine even got to go see a circus cause I made one fer him innit! I ain't gone and blown it up yet, so I'm either doin somethin right or haven't screwed up enough yet! Myahaha! ^^;"

He shrugged lightly and meowed with enthusiasm.

"I ain't ever heard of 'infinity pulse waves'! Mebbe I should try ta study a lil more and play a lil less...but come on, playin is fun!"

He realized he was starting to ramble and merely cleared his throat, shutting himself up for the time being. Lyrial went on to explain what would happen with their involvement in the circles.

Everyone understand?"

Zero blinked a few times, feeling slightly confused. He wasn't sure he had gotten the chant correctly and was about to ask Lyrial to repeat it - Lyiral, it seemed, had anticipated this and repeated it before he could even ask.

"Remeber it is "Za'te Ill'na Ra'te Ill'na Ze'te Ill'ne Re'te Ill'ne Zi'te Ill'ni Ri'te Ill'ni Zo'te Ill'no Ro'te Ill'no Zu'te Ill'nu Ru'te Ill'nu". Nice and slow." Puffles nodded with recognition while Zero continued to stare and blink. Lyrial proceeded to show them what gestures they would be using. Zero looked at his own paws and blinked, whilest Puffles matched Lyrial's instruction gesture for gesture and repeated the chant.

"Simi! Don't worry about hands and what not. You got a better power conduit than the rest of us. Your horn! All you got to do while chanting is to aim your horn at the ship and everything will proceed just fine. Don't worry about me. I will be conducting the entire universe during the procedure. But with the three of you helping channel the energy everything will be fine."

Zero beamed a big smile over to Simi, and gave her a thumbs up - it seemed that with her horn, she had the potential to be the star of this show, and Zero was excited to see if her portion would somehow be more extravagant by nature of her horn. Would she boil up with powerful unicorn energies and cause the land around her to flourish with life as she channeled giant kamehameha-sized beams from her noggin into the ship? This probably was a very fantastical way of thinking, but regardless Zero couldn't help but hope for something cool to come from Simi - though he honestly doubted anything would top the phoenix transformation. That was still fresh in his memory, and he enjoyed recollecting on it.

"Za'te Ill'na Ra'te Ill'na Ze'te Ill'ne Re'te Ill'ne Zi'te Ill'ni Ri'te Ill'ni Zo'te Ill'no Ro'te Ill'no Zu'te Ill'nu Ru'te Ill'nu. Za'te Ill'na Ra'te Ill'na Ze'te Ill'ne Re'te Ill'ne Zi'te Ill'ni Ri'te Ill'ni Zo'te Ill'no Ro'te Ill'no Zu'te Ill'nu Ru'te Ill'nu." Puffles repeated the phrase a few more times, while continuing to perform the gestures that Lyrial demonstrated. Close to a perfect mime, Puffles seemed to have no trouble getting it down. "It seems simple enough. I can do that." He stated affirmly.

Zero, however, did not quite share the android's confidence, as he fumbled with his paws to get them into the right position. He mimed a square that he peeked through much like a movie director would, did the motions of firing a hadoken, and even gave the middle finger to the ship out of nowhere. He promptly realized this and slapped his paw, blushing crimson.

"GYAH! N...nobody saw that! It...it was an accident....nobody saw that!"

He merfed quietly and tried to divert any attention by practicing the chant, which he managed to screw up nicely.

"Zatte's llama rats...ill...ill nas...zeete spaghettioes....ill...ill...is someone sick!? Err, uhhh... ritty...ritty ritty....ritty kitty...gritty....gritty kitty? Eyuh! Um. Uhh! Illno...Ill Nino...hey Puffles likes that band!"

The cyborg sighed softly and shook his head as he approached the nekojin and gently rapped him on the shoulder with the tip of his big, scaly tail.

"Master Zero...I do not believe now is an appropriate time for discussion of my musical tastes. It may be wise of you to consider taking this more seriously."

You always want people to think of you as more than a kid, yet here you go talking about spaghettioes. Quit being a zoidfarb and get to it!

It seemed Puffles and his very own brain were in unison against the silly little neko, and he merfed embarrasedly, scratching the back of his head.

"Okay...okay...I'll try harder, I will! I promise!"

He took in a deep breath, closed his eyes, and spoke very slowly, enunciating every syllable.

"Za'te...Ill'na...Ra'te...Ill'na...Ze'te...Ill'ne...Re'te...Ill'ne...Zi'te...Ill'ni...Ri'te...Ill'ni...Zo'te...Ill'no...Ro'te...Ill'no...Zu'te...Ill'nu...Ru'te...Ill'nu."

"Zero, you should take notes of the energy and how it felt. For even though at its base it is divine energy being used. It is being turned into Infinity Pulse Waves. Thought you would like to know."

Zero blinked and hiccuped with surprise, for whatever reason not having expected to be talked to.

"Okay! I dun really think I understand what infinity pulse waves are yet but mah brain will be jottin notes, I promise!"

I'm busy enough as-is taking notes on the plethora of ways you manage to embarrass yourself, kiddo.

OOC: Special things will happen when Simi does her part on the spell =D She doesn't know it yet, though xD

BIC:

"Yeah, actually, singularity pulses and oscillating gravitron waves are more for creating wormholes and black holes and other such holes. But not for dimensional travel. In fact, if someone used the wrong pulses or wave lengths, they could actually not only distrubt the quantium pyhsics and temporal holdings of the planet they are on, but they have a low chance of destroying their planet, solar system, galaxy, or even their entire universe."

In the midst of the very confusing words, Simi understood that part, and she quivered slightly.

"Of course that is bad," Lyrial continued as if reading Simi's mind, "but worse case senerio is that they may just erase their entire universe and its timeline from existance. Which would mean that is someone was talking to a dimensional traveler and their time line was erased, they would suddenly disappear right in front of the person and that person wouldn't know what was going on or who they were talking to, just that they were talking with someone. In fact, anything that has "singularity" or "gravitron" in its name is not to be used for that purpose. Instead, you would be better off with Infinity Pulse Waves."

Don't have to worry about me using singularity pulses or gravitation... I don't even know what those are! Simi laughed to herself a little nervously.

"I might put mahself in danger more often than a sane person'd consider reasonable, but I dun put others in the same spot!" Zero responded. "I wasn't really sure what kind of bad stuff mighta happened if I went tinkerin with space and stuff, but I always went prepared! Myahaha! ^^;"

Simi waved her tail and gave a wide smile. It was always great having Zero here to lighten up the mood.

"I ain't ever heard of 'infinity pulse waves'! Mebbe I should try ta study a lil more and play a lil less...but come on, playin is fun!" The nekojin cleared his throat, then.

"I'm sorry, but there will be no dancing," Lyrial then responded to Zero's past remark. "Instead each of you will be standing in the center of each of the smaller circles. I will be standing in the northern one. That is the main circle."

Once she realized that directions were being given, Simi pricked her ears forward, making sure to take in everything.

"Once everyone is in place," Lyrial went on, "I will begin casting the main portion of the spell. Everyone understand?"

Simi gave a blank stare, tipping her head to once side. ".....errum........" Huh?

Thankfully, Lyrial seemed to know that this would need repeating. "Remember it is "Za'te Ill'na Ra'te Ill'na Ze'te Ill'ne Re'te Ill'ne Zi'te Ill'ni Ri'te Ill'ni Zo'te Ill'no Ro'te Ill'no Zu'te Ill'nu Ru'te Ill'nu". Nice and slow."

Za'te... Ill'na ...Ra'te Ill'na ....Ze'te Ill'ne ....Re'te Ill'ne Zi'te Ill'ni Ri'te Ill'ni Zo'te Ill'no Ro'te Ill'no Zu'te Ill'nu Ru'te Ill'nu

"Got it!" Simi gave a quick smile before tossing her mane out of her eyes.

Lyrial proceeded to show them what gestures they would be using. Now Simi was confused again. She looked down at her hooves dubiously.

"Simi!"

The blue unicorn turned to meet Lyrial's friendly gaze.

" Don't worry about hands and what not. You got a better power conduit than the rest of us. Your horn! All you got to do while chanting is to aim your horn at the ship and everything will proceed just fine. Don't worry about me. I will be conducting the entire universe during the procedure. But with the three of you helping channel the energy everything will be fine."

Simi's face brightened. "Ok, I can do that!"

Off to her side, Zero gave a big smile to Simi and an encouraging thumbs up. The unicorn smiled back, a little nervous of what was to come, but excited, too.

"Za'te Ill'na Ra'te Ill'na Ze'te Ill'ne Re'te Ill'ne Zi'te Ill'ni Ri'te Ill'ni Zo'te Ill'no Ro'te Ill'no Zu'te Ill'nu Ru'te Ill'nu. Za'te Ill'na Ra'te Ill'na Ze'te Ill'ne Re'te Ill'ne Zi'te Ill'ni Ri'te Ill'ni Zo'te Ill'no Ro'te Ill'no Zu'te Ill'nu Ru'te Ill'nu." Puffles repeated the phrase a few more times, while continuing to perform the gestures that Lyrial demonstrated. Close to a perfect mime, Puffles seemed to have no trouble getting it down. "It seems simple enough. I can do that." He stated affirmly.

Zero began fumbling with his furry paw-fingers, until he made a gesture that was apparently meant to be innappropriate. He slapped his paw and began blushing.

"GYAH! N...nobody saw that! It...it was an accident....nobody saw that!"

Simi began laughing incontrollably, and she turned her face to the side, trying to gasp for air and get a hold of herself.

Now Zero was trying to practice the spell words. "Zatte's llama rats...ill...ill nas...zeete spaghettioes....ill...ill...is someone sick!? Err, uhhh... ritty...ritty ritty....ritty kitty...gritty....gritty kitty? Eyuh! Um. Uhh! Illno...Ill Nino...hey Puffles likes that band!"

Puffles sighed and walked over to Zero, tapping his shoulder gently. "Master Zero...I do not believe now is an appropriate time for discussion of my musical tastes. It may be wise of you to consider taking this more seriously."

"Okay...okay...I'll try harder, I will! I promise!"

He took in a deep breath, closed his eyes, and spoke very slowly.

"Za'te...Ill'na...Ra'te...Ill'na...Ze'te...Ill'ne...Re'te...Ill'ne...Zi'te...Ill'ni...Ri'te...Ill'ni...Zo'te...Ill'no...Ro'te...Ill'no...Zu'te...Ill'nu...Ru'te...Ill'nu."

"Zero, you should take notes of the energy and how it felt," Lyrial piped in. "For even though at its base it is divine energy being used. It is being turned into Infinity Pulse Waves. Thought you would like to know."

Zero hiccuped a little in surprise, but didn't seem upset. "Okay! I dun really think I understand what infinity pulse waves are yet but mah brain will be jottin notes, I promise!"

Simi tipped her head curiously. So he doesn't know either?

Lyrial decided that even though they knew their roles a little warning about the change in their surrondings might be important. "Ok, just a word of warning, nothing is going to start happening immediatly, but instead it will gradually build up. But whatever you do, do not become alarmed, nor stop chanting. Lyrial paused after saying that giving everyone a look of "You better be listening, this is important." After becoming satisfied that everyone was paying attention she continued. "Outside of the circle and only a few feet away from us a vortex of swirling black energy will start to form, at first it will not be noticable, but eventually it will become a virtual sphere of darkness around us. It will not cut us off from the world around us, you will still be able to see out of the vortex. I am telling you this because I do not want you to start panicking." She stopped there to make sure that everyone understood.

"Back to the vortex. Once the vortext forms, at first barely noticeable you will see flashes of images. Eventually these images will become more common and more noticable, till you can easily tell what they are. These images are of the past, the future, the present, and even other worlds and dimensions." She paused for a few seconds to catch her breath and to recollect the next portion of the vortex's activity. "But it doesn't stop there. Once the images start becoming more noticable a noise, sounding like whispers, will start becoming noticable, these are actually voices of the past, future, present, and other worlds and dimensions. Eventually they will build in volume till they are very loud. Again, do not panic or stop chanting. After the voices start, lightning will start to fly around in between the space inside the vortex of darkness. The lightning is purple in color and of course due to our proximity to the source, the thunder will be loud. Do not panic or stop chanting. And, also do not move beyond your spot. As long as you stay in your circle you will not be hit by the lightning. In fact, once the lightning starts flying, thats when you can tell that we are almost done. As we get closer to the end of the spell the lightning will become more frequent." Lyrial stopped there, mostly to take another breath.

"Any questions?" She asked.

Eeeek, mi'bad! Hadnt realized you'd edited the post! ON WITH THE SHOW! HOOZAH!

===IC===
"Ok, just a word of warning, nothing is going to start happening immediatly, but instead it will gradually build up. But whatever you do, do not become alarmed, nor stop chanting." Zero had almost drifted off in thought until Lyrial spoke again, and his ears perked and head snapped in her direction. Puffles too drew his attention to her, though he did so with a slightly downturned face and closed eyes. The Cyborg's tail drew back and forth along the ground immidiately behind him, wavgin from side to side like a cool, calculating snake. "Outside of the circle and only a few feet away from us a vortex of swirling black energy will start to form, at first it will not be noticable, but eventually it will become a virtual sphere of darkness around us. It will not cut us off from the world around us, you will still be able to see out of the vortex. I am telling you this because I do not want you to start panicking."

Darkness...? Oh man...

Zero looked slightly off to the side. While he heard her when she said it wouldn't cut them off from the outer world, he still had reasons to be nervous, and pretty good reasons at that. The Nekojin was fearful of the dark...but not the night. When the sun descended below the horizon and all things settled into slumber, he could find peace and solace. It was unnatural darkness he feared, darkness created by thick walls and no source of light, darkness created by way of magic, darkness...created in himself. The Cyborg Companion turned and walked over to his master, to stand beside the little nekojin. Both he and Zero knew that Puffles understood exactly what he was fearing right now - during a systems wide power failure in his laboratory, Puffles had born firsthand witness to what the fear of the dark could do to Zero. The voice of the Cyborg gently fluttered through Zero's mind as Puffles spoke to him telepathically...

I understand why you are fearful, Zero. But there is no need to be. While this experience is different, you are no stranger to magics. Miss Khazetuha has done far worse to you, and you have come out always unscathed.

I know, but...

Furthermore, this day you have many allies. You know Miss Simi and you know myself. You are getting to know Miss Lyrial, and it is clear she has good intentions for you. You are surrounded by friends and safe here.

But...what if it happens again? I...I don't want anyone to see that...

It will not happen again. If it should come to that point, I will surpress you myself. Just as I did last time.

I'm...I'm just really scared...

You have no need to be. Trust in me, Zero Darius Drawn. I am your friend.

Zero sighed softly, looking towards the ground, giving one nod but saying nor thinking anything else.

"Back to the vortex. Once the vortext forms, at first barely noticeable you will see flashes of images. Eventually these images will become more common and more noticable, till you can easily tell what they are. These images are of the past, the future, the present, and even other worlds and dimensions."
These statements had perked Zero's head right back up, as his ears stiffened to listen. Puffles too seemed particularly interested in this part, and looked directly towards Lyrial, his arms folded.

As we get closer to the end of the spell the lightning will become more frequent."

"Any questions?"

Whispers...?

Puffles read upon Zero's thought and formed that into a question of his own, nodding at Lyrial and speaking.

"Are these whispers and images you speak of, Miss Lyrial...are they experienced by each individual as excerpts of their own timelines, or are they experienced equally by all as random manifestations of events that occured as a whole?"

Zero folded his paws together and stared at them, shifting nervously on his feet. He was beginning to feel a rather sudden sense of foreboding...of fear. He avoided making eye contact with anyone and simply looking towards his paws, folded together against his chest.

I don't want to hear him again...

"Ok," Lyrial began speaking once again. "Just a word of warning, nothing is going to start happening immediatly, but instead it will gradually build up. But whatever you do, do not become alarmed, nor stop chanting."

Simi's flanks stiffened, and she locked her attention on Lyrial's voice. Do not become alarmed....? Of what?

After giving a firm glance at her audience to make sure they were listening, the girl continued.

Her ears slowly laid flat against her head, and she shifted her front hoof nervously. "You mean.... like a big, black, ball around us?" Being a free spirited creature, Simi didn't like the idea of being engulfed in an enclosed sphere......

"Back to the vortex. Once the vortext forms, at first barely noticeable you will see flashes of images. Eventually these images will become more common and more noticable, till you can easily tell what they are. These images are of the past, the future, the present, and even other worlds and dimensions."

The unicorn's eyes widened, and she waved her tail once in some excitement. A peek at other worlds, the future? She blinked in awe, wondering if being inside a black sphere would be so bad afterall. However, she wasn't so sure about the past.... would she see her own, the very kind of past that she had been trying to forget? She gave a little whimper......... I don't want to remember....

"But it doesn't stop there," Lyrial said.

It doesn't?!

"Once the images start becoming more noticable a noise, sounding like whispers, will start becoming noticable, these are actually voices of the past, future, present, and other worlds and dimensions. Eventually they will build in volume till they are very loud."

Loud voices....? How loud? While seeing the future and other existences may sound very interesting, Simi didn't know if it would be worth enduring a dark sphere filled with loud voices.... or would she be too busy under the chanting spell to notice?

"Again, do not panic or stop chanting. As we get closer to the end of the spell the lightning will become more frequent."

Lyrial stopped there, mostly to take another breath.

So darkness, voices And a thousand bolts of lightning.......

"O-okay?" Simi finally spoke, shakily. She had agreed to this, and she was going to help if it was the last thing she did, but....."...... and.... you're sure we won't get hurt, right?"

She just had to make sure....

"Are these whispers and images you speak of, Miss Lyrial..." Puffles also began to speak. "Are they experienced by each individual as excerpts of their own timelines, or are they experienced equally by all as random manifestations of events that occured as a whole?"

Simi glanced over at the cyborg and then at Lyrial, nodding. She wanted to know this, too. The unicorn also took a peek at Zero to see his reaction, somewhat hoping that he could lighten up the mood again and make it not seem so bad, but to her surprise, the usually cheerful cat was holding himself, staring down at his paws with a worried expression.

Simi's forelegs quivered and she danced with them a couple of steps, nervous. If Zero was worried, she should definetely be worried.

If she were not a unicorn, she may have been thinking that impolite phrase known as, "Oh, crap...."

Lyrial was glad she had stopped to listen to any questions and concerns that the participants had. Indeed, their one true concern was valid. In a form Lyrial thought. Lyrial had to think about this, how to explain it? Did she not already explian to them that they are visions and voices from across the time stream? But the more she thought about it, the more she realized that they ment their personal time lines, things that has happened or might happen to them.

"Good question. To put simply, the visions and voices are of OUR pasts, presents, and futures. Events that you have experienced already, events that you are currently experiencing, and events that you might experience. That is what the visions and voices are. And, we all see and hear them. This causes a massive confusion of pictures and noise. So it might be possible for you to see something familiar. But at best it will only be a few seconds long. And the amount of voices might be to the point that you can't understand what is being said." Lyrial told the others.

Then she thought about the last time she had done this. It didn't go excatly how she described. Indeed, it was wierd, the pictures were actualy very noticable and strong, and the voices understandable. It was a rare hiccup in time and space. But even so, it was disturbing to watch herself serve an evil god. She might as well warn them about the very low chance of the pictures and voices being...not so fleeting and non-understandable.

"But, there is a very small chance that the visions and voices, instead of being rather fleeting and not understandable, could be more solid and understandable. I hope no one here has any concern about this, the visions and voices are rather random. You have no way to know what they are, or from when, well, unless its from your past. But even then, its very random." Lyrial said. With as much confidence that it was not going to be that way as possible being shown.

===OOC===
Hehehehe! ^-^ As long as ya post and this keeps on going, I can wait. I hope yer life ain't stressin ya out too bad or nuffin, and that you find plenty of opportunity to rest!

...this is startin to get intense!

===IC===
Puffles looked upon Simi with concern as he registered the Unicorn's reactions...subtle mixtures of excitement and fear bubbled within her, but it seemed the anxiety was slowly winning over. Zero could feel tenseness in the air and Puffles could seemingly feel it too. Arms crossed, the Cyborg's tail whipped and lashed against the ground behind him like a slow restless snake. He stared up into the sky, contemplating thoughts private to himself. Zero continued to look down at his paws...perhaps if he had known of Simi's want of encouragement from him, he could have surpressed his fear...but the world around him, except for Lyrial's words alone, was oblivious. It seemed that only more bad news was coming.

And the amount of voices might be to the point that you can't understand what is being said."

Something like this may have been thoguht enoguh to calm Zero...afterall, if the images were only fleeting glimpses and glances, how would he even discern between what he so dearly wished not to see and the random gibberish around it? It did little to appease him, however, as his downward stare and gentle shivers simply confirmed.

Every glance...every word...

Puffles' head snapped up, and he looked towards his master intensely.

It is unwise and unnecessary for you to dwell on these things, Zero. Everything will be fleeting, as Miss Lyrial has stated. You will not have time to even register it.

You don't understand...the eyes...the voice...

I -do- understand, Zero. And I know that you are stronger than this. Much like the vaccines you think catastrophe of, this too will be a quick pinch and simply be over.

Zero sighed deeply, and closed his eyes, taking deep, slow breaths. He may have had an opportunity to find some solace in this...until Lyrial spoke once again.

"But, there is a very small chance that the visions and voices, instead of being rather fleeting and not understandable, could be more solid and understandable. I hope no one here has any concern about this, the visions and voices are rather random. You have no way to know what they are, or from when, well, unless its from your past. But even then, its very random."

A sharp inhale and a stoppage of breath. The Nekojin could feel himself panicking inside...it was clear whatever thoughts he dwelled upon were affecting him deeply. Puffles too knew this, and could see it...an intimate bond with the nekojin allowed him a nearly constant access into the minds eye of the boy. And that which the Cyborg witnessed, though he had known of it already, managed to unsettle his very own heart.

I know that you are frightened...and I know that it is hard. But you must be str---

Open them...

The thought was cut short as the cyborg's eyes widened, and he looked off to the side, shutting them tightly, a pained expression on his face.

Open your eyes...

Zero shivered, and gripped his paws together...tight, as tight as he could...

Or they will never stop hurting you...

The sun glinted off Zero's cheek, and the gentle tears that coursed down his fuzzy little face were illuminated by the sparkling light.

"Good question," Lyrial responded. "To put simply, the visions and voices are of OUR pasts, presents, and futures. Events that you have experienced already, events that you are currently experiencing, and events that you might experience. That is what the visions and voices are. And, we all see and hear them. This causes a massive confusion of pictures and noise. So it might be possible for you to see something familiar. But at best it will only be a few seconds long. And the amount of voices might be to the point that you can't understand what is being said."

Simi scratched at a small chunk of ice lying under her hoof, trying to use this information to her emotional advantage. See? You'll get to see your own future, glimpses of it, at least.... and anything you don't want to remember will be covered with a thousand words.... see? It's all fine, it's going to be all okay.....

To her left, Puffle's head suddenly snapped up, turning his gaze upon Zero. The sudden movement had spooked her a little and she blinked to get rid of the shock. Everyone seems to be a little edgy with this.... She followed his gaze briefly to look at Zero once more, but quickly turned her head away. He still seemed to be in that insecure, anxious position, and the unicorn knew that if she looked any longer she might get into a dancing fit all over again.

Her left ear twitched, catching Zero's sigh. His breathing slowed, and grew deeper. Simi's ears laid flat against her head and she focused her attention on Lyrial, who, thankfully, had begun speaking again.

"But, there is a very small chance that the visions and voices, instead of being rather fleeting and not understandable, could be more solid and understandable. I hope no one here has any concern about this, the visions and voices are rather random. You have no way to know what they are, or from when, well, unless its from your past. But even then, its very random."

What?! But she said...

Someone behind her- most likely Zero- took in a deep inhale of breath.

"B- ... Lyrial," Simi finally spoke, her voice meek and unsure. She took a step back. "But I thought you said it wouldn't be understandable... I thought you just said it'd be all... you know, quick and.... all confusing. You mean some things... would be recognizable?" Already she could hear it all again..... the shouts of men, the whistles of their arrows as they flew past, struck her brothers, sisters..... the bays of the hunting dogs as they would surround their prey, a whirlwind of terror and death.

Please.... if anything could be covered by words and confusion, let it be this......

As afraid as she felt, however, Simi knew that she would not be able to back down. Lyrial needed her help, she had promised it, and she would not break a promise with friends.

... I can't..... I won't.

She turned, glancing at Puffles and Zero, awaiting their responses... Zero was now stiff as a Deep Forest tree.... His eyes were shut tight. Slowly, but steadily, tears began to run down the cat's face.

Shudders ran down Simi's spine, and she raised her head with alarm. "Zero?" She had called it out gently, but her in her mind she had cried the name out loudly and its echoes bounced along her concious. The memories of the arrows, and the dogs, had graciously fled to the back of her mind.

"Zero, are you alright?" She took a couple of steps toward her friend, her forelegs quivering for a moment.

((OOC: Heyo, ZeroDawn! Looks like you've put a lot of thought into this guy, and I must say that it's always a treat to read about such well-developed characters! ^_^ Still, a bit more defining of his abilities' limits is needed; I'll outline the most important here, but feel free to PM me if you'd like some input for additional ideas or quirks to consider.

Physical~ No suitable disadvantage is listed for his tail, and needs to be included. Please give an idea of what his stamina levels are, as well, and what would, for him, constitute a too-long battle or too many injuries. Also, in one of your earlier posts, Puffles used what I take to be his Telekinesis and Mind Blast abilities to introduce himself with a flare; This isn't necessarily a bad thing, in fact it was fun to read, but it seemed to me that the amount of energy he'd need to perform such a trick would have a visible impact on his energy reserves. If it did, but he simply didn't outwardly show his fatigue, that should be included in the post in some way so that there are no misunderstandings.
Iron Will~ This seems to be more of an ability derived from his natural personality traits than a true supernatural power, which is pretty cool. However, as it is listed as an ability and is strong enough to counter most mental/emotional attacks both subtle and overt, it needs a weakness of some sort to counteract that.
Telekinesis~ Clarification on specifically what his limits are, with a focus on what constitutes a "small" object - weight, size, mass, complexity, other, or a combination? - and if there is there a limit to how many "small" items he can manipulate at a time?
Telepathy~ Again, a more definite description of his limits. How far can he reach with his Telepathy, and are there any elements environmental, circumstantial, or personal that would affect that range? Is there a limit on how far a Telepathic message-pulse will reach before it's nulled?
Mind Blast~ General all-round clarification is needed here: Can the target possibly dodge the Blast, can the Blast be blocked or diverted, what is the Mind Blast's max. range in either form, how much max. damage and what kind of damage can either type of Mind Blast cause, and how many hand-Blasts would be "too many"?
"He can project specifically targeted blasts directed by his hands or can unleash a nova of mental energy all around him."
Do you mean only his hands can create those focused Blasts, or can they have a "spray" effect like a mini-Nova? Similarly, is a Nova limited to an indiscriminate "ripple" effect, or can it be more specific in its targets?
Mind Sanctuary~ Again, needs clarification on specifics. How does the physical world around their real bodies affect them when in the Sanctuary, or are they completely oblivious no matter what? Can Puffles draw more than one other person into the Sanctuary at a time? How quickly does the Sanctuary dissolve, and is there disorientation or any other adverse affect in transfer to or from the Sanctuary? Must the contact be with a physiologically-attached part of the body, or will the contact work through artifical barriers of limited or indefinite thickness? Can the Sanctuary be released through other than loss of the physical connection, such as through a loss of concentration or willful intent to exit it by either party?
Mental Barrier~ Please be more definitive in what he can do/what his limits are. What are its strength and weaknesses? Are there elements of various natures that could have positive or adverse effects on its performance? What is its effect on Puffles' energy; Is there a drain when nothing is assaulting it, and does the strength of an attack vary the damage/energy cost to deflect it? How does distance affect it, does it take more concentration/energy to maintain the further away Puffles is, is there a limit to his range, does distance or other conditions affect the time it takes to switch targets? Can he still hold the Barrier if locomotion is by the power of another? How much damage can it take before it collapses?
Sons of Flame~ What happens if the tiara or jewels are stolen, damaged or broken? Does it take energy to summon/desummon/maintain the Sons' physical forms, and does distance between them weaken Puffles as it does them? As to the wolves themselves, is there any physical limitations due to their builds and size, such as decreased agility for Sygna because of bulk and less strength for the other two due to lighter builds? How many blasts/uses of frostfire/fireballs/flora growth/healing can they perform, respectfully, until they need to rest? How long must they rest before using their abilities again, and how much energy, if any, does it cost them if their infernos freeze/burn something, or if they use their specific puppyform ability?

So... Yeah. Sorry about the length ^^' To sum it up, you need to define the specifics and limitations of his abilities. Again, if you'd like additional ideas to muse over, send a PM my or another Edge Mod's way, we're happy to help ^_^ Highlight any changes, and we'll get back to you quick as we can!))

===OOC===

I've made some of the requested clarifications highlighted in yellow in the original post. Look over them if you like and see if they are to your liking. I didn't make all the changes yet because it is very difficult to do so - the lack of definite limitations is because I have yet to get Puffles going as a character, he hasn't had enough time to develop. It's also because weighing all this stuff in my head is mentally exhausting. x_o;

It's hard to say how much or how many he can do of something as many things can affect this - he will ignore his body's limits and disregard his mind's cries for rest or feelings of exhaustion if it's to protect someone he loves. Or, if he's been spending all day helping someone construct something, say carrying wood and materials, then he's going to be more physically and mentally tired if nothing had happened. Likewise, if it happened to be a pretty relaxing day where he got a lot of rest and was happy, he's got a greater reserve of energy to put forth to tasks that require them, combat or non.

The nature of the battle itself affects his limits - how skilled is the opponent he is facing, what are they doing, are they using magic, long ranged attacks, are they brutish and berserker, fighting up close? Are they using hostages or attempting to attack weaker targets than Puffles himself? Is there more than one opponent to consider, are they speedy, are they armored, do they use vehicles / weapons, does Puffles actually want to inflict harm on them? Stuff like this would change how Puffles would act, in what manner he fought, the amount of energy he put forth into his abilities, the willingness to heed, meet, or even exceede his limits.

That's just what I think of it anyways. I have no intention whatsoever to disobey the rules and will continue to make changes as you request them. It is tiring though, and not something I can do in one burst, so I do apologize for the sheer amount of time it takes me.

(ooc: sorry for the long wait...very sorry...I hav eno excuse for it)
IC:

Lyrial watched the scene unfoldin front of her. After telling them about what to expect it seamed that Zero and Simi were becoming reluctent. Did something in their pasts bother them so much that they feared facing it? Lyrial, being trained by a goddess directly, and the goddess of hope at that, realized that for them to have fear or any form of apprehension right now could be bad for the ritual. But at the same time, even she had memories that she didn't like. But at this time she could only remeber what she was taught.

"The goddess Slyphianess, the one that taught me magic and treated me with much love, taught me this. To run from your own past, is to lose yourself to despair. For than your past can be used as a weapon against you. Magic, weapons, powers that can't be explained, are powerless when compared to the power of pasts that you run from. To be able to face your past head on, is to become stronger, to overcome the despair, is to gain power. For than no one can exploit this supposed weakness, through this alone you gain more power. Power that you can use to protect those that you love and care about. Your family, your friends, even people you have never met before. By facing and overcoming your own fears, you find that no mater how deep the darkness, that there is always a light of hope. Thus you can look to the future and smile. And you can look at your past and realize, that it is behind you. Learn from the past, look to the future, live in the present. And always smile and realize that there is always hope even in the darkest of times." Lyrial said, a soft smile on her face.

She decided to continue with the small lesson about facing ones fears. "After all, everyone has skeletons in their closest. Even the must noble of the gods have memories and moments that they would rather not remember. But they have faced their skeletons. In some ways, this is how a few mortals actually ascended to godhood. Sometimes, its best to also talk about your bad experiences with others. To get the bad feelings and fear off your chest, to share your pain. This is what my goddess, my teacher, Slyphianess, the goddess of hope and moons, have taught me." She finaly stopped and turned back to the ship.

"And if you want to back out now, thats ok. There will be no hard feelings if you do. Its understandable to back out due to fear. Fear is what helps keep you alive at times." She said.

===OOC===
No worries on the wait, long as you come back. It's clear we all have things preventing us from being as punctual as we'd like, so at least we're in good company, yeah? ^-~

===IC===

Zero kept his paws tightly clasped together...it felt as if his world was sinking inward, drawn by the pull of that voice...to open his eyes and yet be so afraid to do so. Why was it so frightening...? Those words, for all he knew, were little more than a product of his nightmares...and yet he could feel it, he knew it, there was more to them than just the overactive imagination of a catboy...

"Zero?" A shiver ran down his spine as he heard the gentle, concerned voice of Simi...what could he do...? "Zero, are you alright?" He inhaled sharply, tried to stop his crying...his little body shivering, he brushed his fisted paws against his cheeks...but no matter how hard he tried, he could not find the strength to respond, could not even open his eyes.

The pain cannot cease if you do not open your eyes and face what frightens you...

Puffles lifted his head and looked towards the unicorn, sighing softly. He approached at a slow, and took a stand adjacent to her, watching between her, his Master, and Lyrial. He felt as if he should say something, but Lyrial had words of her own.

And always smile and realize that there is always hope even in the darkest of times."

Zero took deep, slow, shuddered breaths...he had to force himself to focus on her words, each and every one of them. He absolutely needed every ounce of reinforcement he could get...and what she said...

You agree with her, don't you? It's always been your thing, you know. Trying to prove yourself as being more than just some little kittykid.

Zero gripped his head with his paws and shook it softly, teeth gritted.

You'll never be able to do that if you falter when the time comes, you know. She's right - if someone brought your past back to you...how would you face it? You're worse off than most folks. You have only the vaguest idea of what happened...you want to know. Why are you afraid of it? Now may be your chance to get some answers.

It was true he wanted answers...what had originally began as a mere curisoity turned into much more. Khazetuha's rigid resistance to disclose anything about her own past to him only served to stoke the fire of his curiosity. It didn't help matters that he'd begun having nightmares, different than just a scary dream...they all took place in a room of darkness and isolation...he could never see anything in them, and yet someone was there,to watch and protect him. Benevolent as his dreammate had been, speaking to him in a distantly familiar voice...Zero found nothing but emptiness whenever he thought of this mysterious person. That whom he had heard, but never seen nor felt...that whom pleaded with him, to just open his eyes...

The nekojin knew that if he ever opened his eyes, what he would see would change him...and he was frightened of that change. Terrified of it.

Puffles was silent for the timebeing. Even with the spiritual link, some things were private to his Master alone...though he knew not the context of what was spoken within Zero, he knew it to be crucial to the nekojin. His gaze shifted specifically on Simi, and he watched her for a time, silently hoping that she would be alright.

For than no one can exploit this supposed weakness, through this alone you gain more power. Power that you can use to protect those that you love and care about. Your family, your friends, even people you have never met before. By facing and overcoming your own fears, you find that no mater how deep the darkness, that there is always a light of hope.

Your light of hope is here, in Deep Forest...you came here to start anew, among those who have never known you before. Outside of your comfort zone...to experience something new. But you also came here to prove that you could do it...to prove yourself, to yourself, and to everyone around you.

Open your eyes. Look, look and you will have strength to bear what comes next.

Zero's eyes slowly opened...to meet the gaze of a concerned friend, the unicorn, the first person he'd truly met upon his arrival here...his own still brimmed with tears, sparkles of the water glistening into the endless depths of his soulful oculars.

This is what my goddess, my teacher, Slyphianess, the goddess of hope and moons, have taught me."

To share your pain...

The eyes of Simi, the unicorn who had related to him her past...victim of the cruelty and greed of humans...he had only heard so much, and yet, to every story there was always more than what was told...she had pain too. And yet she looked upon him with naught but concern...was it that her pain mattered less to her than the pain of another? Was she strong enough to set her fears aside to protect and serve the one's she loved? Even if she was scared...

You told her you'd keep an eye out for her. Sting anybody'd come after her horn. Could you follow through with that? Or would you be too afraid, when a real threat emerged...?

Zero just barely sobbed...eyes still tearful, watered, vision unclear...something he had no idea of had occurred within them. If Simi were apt to notice it, she would see her own reflection...almost as if it usurped and replaced the very eyes themselves, front and center on their glassy surfaces. She would be there, represented in them, much like a fullform mirror but scaled down...

"And if you want to back out now, thats ok. There will be no hard feelings if you do. Its understandable to back out due to fear. Fear is what helps keep you alive at times."

Puffles furrowed his brow, and softly cleared his throat before he began speaking.

"It is true that fear can keep you alive by assisting you to avoid situations of unnecessary risk..." The Cyborg passed his gaze across Lyrial, Simi, and Zero in turn. "But that is an understanding of fear, not a surrender to it. It is the difference between taking the sturdy bridge against the rickety one. Surrender is letting another lose their grip and fall into the abyss because you were too afraid to take their hand."

Zero shuddered an inhale and blinked slowly, still focused on Simi.

"Now is the moment where some of us must decide if we are a master of our fears or a servant to them."

Do you have what it takes? Could you protect her? Or would you run away...?

Zero took a sharp inhale, shivering with the action. He raised his paws to his face in an attempt to wipe the tears away, but his still-clenched fingers and tightly shut eyes gave way to the terror that plagued the nekojin's thoughts.

The unicorn studied his face anxiously, locking herself into place as if bracing for something terrible to unleash its fury upon them all. See, I knew something bad was going to happen.... I knew it! This is bad...

She knew that the ship could not stay here, and she knew that it was a danger to others until it was taken by enchanted force into another plane, but Simi found herself wishing passionately that there was some other way to get rid of it than being trapped in a shadowy bubble of your own past that apparently could open the gate to some extreme evil that only Zero knew about.

A figure from the corner of her vision sighed, moving slowly towards her. Simi had been so engrossed in Zero's mysterious plight that she had forgotten her surroundings, and found herself starting a little as Puffles approahed. As she turned her head to see the friendly cyborg, however, her ears laid back in some shame.

You're not making anything better, Control yourself. She turned and also sighed softly, her hooves shifting again with the weight of her anxiety.

"The goddess Slyphianess, the one that taught me magic and treated me with much love, taught me this."

Lyrial's voice; the unicorn was compelled to shift her gaze sideways in the girl's direction. Her calm, reassuring tone was extremely welcoming to Simi in the midst of her near-panic, and she wanted to hear what the worldeater was going to say.

"To run from your own past," Lyrial started, "is to lose yourself to despair. For than your past can be used as a weapon against you. Magic, weapons, powers that can't be explained, are powerless when compared to the power of pasts that you run from. To be able to face your past head on, is to become stronger, to overcome the despair, is to gain power. For then no one can exploit this supposed weakness, through this alone you gain more power. Power that you can use to protect those that you love and care about."

The unicorn turned her full gaze on Lyrial, taken aback. Stronger? Facing your past made you stronger? Her eyes widened in disbelief, trying to gather it in, trying to understand.

I saw them die........ I saw things that no one should have to live through. How is remembering it going to protect who I care about, now? She tremored, kept her eyes locked to Lyrial's, praying for advice radically different from the previous, something that was safer to follow. Wouldn't forgetting the past be forgetting that there was a weakness for it....?

However, as the words replayed in her mind, Simi was unable to deny all of Lyrial's words. To be honest.... it was true. The past, in the right situation, could serve as your own enemy.

Unless you knew how to stare it in the face.....

In its huge, ugly, haunted face.....

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A hunting dog reared its head to the sky, howling a song for blood as a silohette of her kin was dragged to the ground by its helpers.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

... but..... it's so..... so, hard.

The unicorn groaned to herself dubiously, bowing her head as her inner thoughts wrestled with each other.

And it was hard to leave your home. But you did it, didn't you? If you can break your bond with a forest and set off into the world on your own, maybe.........just maybe, you could-

She stamped her hoof once in frustration at her own weak resistance. She couldn't finish the thought; it was still so daunting.

But I don't want to go back..... I don't want to...

"Your family, your friends, even people you have never met before," Lyrial added. "By facing and overcoming your own fears, you find that no matter how deep the darkness, that there is always a light of hope. Thus you can look to the future and smile. And you can look at your past and realize, that it is behind you. Learn from the past, look to the future, live in the present. And always smile and realize that there is hope even in the darkest of times."

Hear her. Hear what she says. You cannot live in the present until you face it... Until you face why you are even standing here, in Deep Forest's realm...

Simi's eyes trailed to the ground, her gaze blank.

You did not come here out of your own will, Simi. Face it; you came because of them.

Zero began breathing slowly, his sound ragged.

Simi instinctively turned her head back to him, blinking in relief just to know that her friend was moving. "Zero?"

It had seemed as if the nekojin was beginning to recover, but he suddenly gripped his head, shaking it softly as his teeth pressed together with emotional pain.

Her mouth gaped open, stuttering as she tried to find a response to this sudden act.

Moments passed, days as far as Simi cared.

But he didn't stop.

"Zero, stop," The mare tried to make it an order. "Free yourself!"

She may not know where it came from, or how real it was, but whatever fear, whatever kind of pain had taken hold of Zero, was beginning to affect her greatly. She was a unicorn, and as such the trauma of anyone or anything close to her heart, was felt by her.

"Zero, please," Simi pleaded without even realizing. "Please, come back... stop hurting yourself..." the unicorn was dimly aware of Puffles watching her intensely with concern. Tears threatened to trail away from her own eyes, but she blinked them back harshly. Tears would blur her vision... and she didn't want that, now.

I hate seeing you this way..... I hate how you feel, how you suffer.... I don't want you to feel this.....!

Whether it was because of her plea, or out of some mercy of the thing that plagued him, Zero paused- and slowly opened his eyes. They were filled with little sparkles of tear drops, but they were open nonetheless, and Simi breathed out shakily, extremely relieved.

Stay away from it, don't let it take you...

This is what my goddess, my teacher, Slyphianess, the goddess of hope and moons, have taught me."

Simi's ears pricked in Lyrial's direction, but her eyes remained on Zero. She was suddenly, incredibly glad to hear Lyrial, to have her voice echo around the Edge's land. She was right, she was so right.

I can conquer it. I can conquer it so I can free myself, and focus on more important things, like life, and now, and what waits ahead.

But most importantly, now.

"It's ok, Zero...... we're here.... we're all here," Simi spoke softly, comfortingly.

The nekojin was barely sobbing, and the tears continued to run, but as she stepped forward again, Simi saw a change happen within Zero's eyes that was a little alarming. It was as if they were slowly being washed away by the very tears that came from them, replacing deep blue orbs with a faint, solid shade of watered-down cerulean.

Simi was taken by surprise and took a step back, wondering if she should be afraid or wary of this.

However, concern soon outweighed wariness and, wanting to know what in the world just happened to Zero's previously visible pupils, Simi stepped closer again to peer into the nekojin's gaze.

As she got a better look, the unicorn could only stare with bewilderment.

It... it was her. The image that had conquered his eyes was her, a perfect scaled down unicorn with a glowing sky-blue coat and a horn clear as ice.

W....what did this mean?

"And if you want to back out now, thats ok. There will be no hard feelings if you do. Its understandable to back out due to fear. Fear is what helps keep you alive at times."

Simi nodded once for Lyrial, feeling a little guilty for having forgotten all about her, but the little reflection in Zero's eyes still had most of her attention. What was this...? What was the meaning of it...?

Puffles cleared his throat.

"It is true that fear can keep you alive by assisting you to avoid situations of unnecessary risk..." The Cyborg briefly gazed over Simi, Lyrial, and Zero in one turn. "But that is an understanding of fear, not a surrender to it. It is the difference between taking the sturdy bridge against the rickety one. Surrender is letting another lose their grip and fall into the abyss because you were too afraid to take their hand."

Simi nodded again, slowly, while Zero inhaled shakily. The unicorn rested her gaze steadily on him, glad to see her friend slowly coming back to his senses. The image of her, however, had not faded, and she was still bewildered by its uncanny appearance. Zero's gaze held hers, in turn.

"Now is the moment where some of us must decide if we are a master of our fears or a servant to them," Puffles finished.

Simi finally took a deep breath, as if coming to terms with something inevitable.

"I won't back out, Lyrial. I will help you."

And now she had to make sure of something else. "Zero, is everything alright, now? Are you okay?" If he was in need of it, Simi's horn had the power to heal, and she'd do it gladly. It suddenly occured to her that throughout all of this, Zero hadn't spoken a single word.
