Future UV: Deja Vu...
On a crisp afternoon, where the daylight was just turning orange in the air's haziness, near the day's end... but night was still a few hours distant... somewhen in late summer, early fall... a Friday, maybe... warm sun, cool breeze, scattered white puffy clouds overhead, with a hint of color touched to their undersides... yes, within this moment, a Door opened. Not a "door" door... more a Spacial Threshhold, a Door without Frame or Knob... but still, a door. Of sorts.........
Strange, really, how things sometimes repeat themselves. Only this time, the slender, gracefull, long-limbed figure with dark, electric blue eyes and long, tufted tail... leapt over Threshhold, landed on all fours, paced forwards a few yards, then stood up and looked around. Smile on her face... memories in her mind. And twenty years gone, since she'd last seen this place... last seen the trees, stood on the ground, and scented the air of Deep Forest, inhale and exhale, expansion and contraction of furry chest taking it all in. And breathing it all out. Then a look behind...
... as out of this door ran another creature, like her... but on hind limbs...
... only this time, he landed gently, without hop or stumble, then dropped carefully to all fours, from a hunched-forwards posture, and walked slowly towards his mate.
Yes, Thoee and Deen had returned to Deep Forest! Only this time, not chasing each other in a fit of passion, Deen very cautious in his movements, and... well, his feathered shroudruff seemed to bulge a bit, as if he'd developed a hump on his shoulders. A... deformity. But no... no, the bulge was no deformity! It was...
... "We's a'there, nows?"
The voice sounded small and muffled under feathers... Deen came to a halt, and sat back on his haunches, grin on his face as Thoee met him, settled on her own haunches, and laid a hand on the bulge...
... "Yes, we are here now, Hun...."
A tiny muzzle... a very small snout poked out from underneath, as the bulge wiggled. Then a pair of tiny pawhands stretched out on the end of tiny, silverblue-scaled arms, and gripped Deen's fur near his left shoulder...
... "I's a'glad, momma. Dadda's a bits'a wamerly, and I'sa needs freshy-er airs!"
... "Hey, I just bathed an hour ago, Little One!" Words from said "dadda"... given in mock protest.
Thoee took hold of her child's forelimbs, and slipped the very young Nism out from under cover. Out into fresh air and sunshine.........
In many ways, this child resembled a long-limbed ferret, fur a pale, dappled gold and brown mix... scales, as mentioned, silverblue and shiney. Eyes, a startling aquamarine, with the slightest hint of lavender on the edges... eyes filled with an almost visible glow of Life and Innocence...
... "Weeeee!" An exuberant exclaimation, followed by a high-pitched giggle, limbs twitching in the air....
Forehead, marked with tiny scale-sensors, a miniature version of mother's and father's. Snout, marked by four tiny nostrils. And tail, marked by a tuft... like her mother's. Yes, a female child. A daughter.........
A daughter who wrapped her tail around mother's arm, and clamped on, playfully chewing on parental fingers...
... Hun, you don't know where those things've been... here, let me make sure they're clean....
And so, the scene was now set. Thoee, mother. Deen, father. And a daughter called "Hun"... though that was not her actual name. Deen, licking his mate's fingers, as their daughter watched and laughed and wiggled, hug-clamped on the end of her mother's arm. Both parents, crouched close to each other, intent care and deep affection shown clearly in this Family Moment.........

Not a hop, skip, and a jump away ...
Two figures ran amock the Woodlands. Both small, one larger: epitome of fun. In circles they chased one another, hands after quills and claws after hair. A game of tag between two entirely different species of undead. And while they both smelled remarkably of mothballs and something that had lost life ages ago, neither was decomposing nor crusty nor faded. Livid with an almost unending energy, child played with graveling. Laughter was afoot from both the young and the nuts.
One of them, a human child. Or something of a human child ... She didn't appear any older than eight, perhaps nine years old. Of Homo sapien variety with two arms, two hands, two legs, two feet, a torso, and an oval-shaped hand, there were distinction that made her quite abnormal. Skin, for example, was pallor, practically white. Her eyes flared out in an obvious glare - pink sclera, red irises, no pupils. Three sapphire circles were painted underneath each eye like obnoxious freckles. Silver hair parted in the middle and cascaded down her back to the small, transcended from gray to light blue to indigo. Height? Variably 4'5" or close to it. The warm weather opted for less-restricting wear, so the girl was donned in something simple. A purple tunic covered her torso and extended past her hips, tied off at the almost unnoticeable waist with a tan sash. There were jeans of faded denim and soft black sneakers with thin soles made for running and comfort. Innocence was in her smile. Purity in its youngest form.
The second figure was anything but what you would expect to linger around a willing and giddy child. Armed with quills along its back that were barbed and white and black and tan and brown, this beast's two eyes lit up like yellow lanterns. So large were they compared to spindly arms and fingers. Its emaciated body could have been more than three feet tall. Jagged teeth, sharp and nicotine-stained, glistened eerily. First glances might make people mistake this forlorn creature for a monkey without a tail. Not so - the correct definition was Graveling, the dealer of death visible to only those who were undead, immortal ... or those quickly out the door. And those with special powers, which pretty much amounted to everybody in Deep Forest.
"Terry!" the girl yelled, making a dive for the critter only to have it back flip onto her skull and off again. "Jeez!" A laugh. Goofing off ... while above, a lean, shadowed, and tailed figure slunk onto a high-hanging branch with something tucked in his or her arms ...

Little One...
Being Nism, mother, father... and even child... couldn't avoid knowing about the three figures nearby. To her parents, the three presented nothing unusual, though the one biosignature was very familiar... however, to her... to the Little One... three such strong, close and unusual signatures made a very pointed impression on her developing biosenses. Well, father had finished licking maternal fingers, mother had looked in the direction of the three, and daughter...? Well, she wiggled in her mother's grip, released her hug around her mother's arm, and gave her mother those warm, soft, puppydog eyes that told...
... well, the obvious.
Thoee set "Hun" down, and watched along with Deen as their daughter skittered eagerly away, towards the three...
... "My Love, I do hope they still remember us, after all this time."
Deen swept Thoee up into his arms, rubbed his snout on her belly and blew out a snort. While she twitched her tail and giggled under his affections...
... "I can't imagine anyone forgetting us, Sweetness, after all we did here........."
Meanwhile.........
The Little One... barely the size of a six month old ferret... expressed her energetic exuberance in the way she hopped, skipped and jumped her way towards the two on the ground. Well, in some ways it only seemed like one, but it was definitely two! And she could tell they were playing... she wanted to play, too! So...
... with another...
... "Weee...!"
... she tried to throw herself on the prickly one's head, but missed... landed with a tumble and some tiny, high laughter, quickly dropped to a very girlish giggle, as her tail's tuft dusted the air behind her...
... "Hi! I's a'called Honalee... what's a'gamer we's a'play-in...?" Honalee stood up from her four-legged wiggle... settled back alertly on her haunches, tiny arms folded to chest, tiny pawhands clasped... tiny, furry butt planted amongst the leaf-litter bits, though her body's wiggle didn't completely subside.........

There was movement. A lot of noises. And a, "Weee!" that threw both of them off. While Terry and Nakéminae both look in the direction of the noise at the same time it is the Graveling who reacts first because ... well, there was a thing flying at him right now. A very furry and scaled and ... thing thing. There was no way to describe the beastie in one or two words, even. A whole paragraph would be better, but patience was limited and Terry was no longer in the position to scribble out word after word after word. Screaming, he ducks out of the way just in time. 'Strange Beastie' goes flying. It tumbles to the earth and rolls harmlessly onto its butt. You have to feel bad for something like that. There's no telling if the little dude is hurt or maimed ... if it is a little dude. I mean it could have a broken neck, a sprained ankle, a shattered jaw ... or just a very bruised ego.
But there's no sign of sorrow nor anger. It - she - clasps her hands together and wonders what game they are playing. Terry if forced to scratch his head and Nakéminae is too busy musing over how cute this stranger is to answer right away. When the words pour out they are laden with the consistency of honey. Every syllable reflects the Ethernian's utter adoration for something that adorable. You didn't come across something like that every day.
Up in the tree, the stranger prepares her attack. Under one arm is a cask. It is filled with water that is warm to the touch and sloshes whenever she moves too suddenly. The grin on her face shows nothing but dry humor. This being is planning something. One foot in front of the other, balance is created. The fae's tail is used as a balancing rod while she grabs the gourd on either side ad holds it high above her head. All she needs is a perfect moment ...
But things like to happen when you least expect it. And really, who knew that an ickle kidthing was gonna jump into the fray? Alarmed, That's not supposed to happen and what if I dump the water on it too?! flies through the stranger's head in one second flat and she lsoes her concentration just like that. With concentration goes the ability to hold oneself up. A talon catches on wooden bark -
Giggling, the little girl down below beams at the child. Honalee introduces herself and she chooses to imitate. "I'm Naké," she says with such an elation that the darkest darks shrink away in hate, "and the spiked guy is Terry. He's a buddy." The Graveling is busy chewing on a claw, suspiciously eying the baby childthing. Excitement catches. Naké hops from one foot to another and claps her palms together. "Wanna play tag?"
The last word hardly falls from her mouth when a yell is heard from above and Naira goes tumbling. Her right foot has caught on a vine and she snaps into the air a few feet from the ground. A boomerang effect ensues in which she bounces up and down before going at rest, swinging slightly back and forth. The gourd she held smashed into the terrace, water splaying everywhere and dousing everything that hadn't moved in time. And the half-dragon ... eyes spiraling, groans. The vine snaps. Down she goes! An, "Oomph!" and she's out cold on the hard dirt Forest floor.
Naira is not dressed in her usual. Donned in shorts and a baggy tee, a sash is tied about her waist and another around her forehead concealing the blind eye. Despite her unconsciousness Nakéminae is not worried. In fact, she's laughing. "Shadi always likes to drop in." And Terry's on the undead girl's belly, plopping down with force so that the Soul Reaver's chest is compressed and air comes rolling out of her lungs.

Twenty years had passed since the Queen of Felcaer had first seen the land of Deep Forest. Though she had spent the minority of those years actually living there, she had not forgotten the place. Unfortunately, her current regime over the demonic city was still new; and in a city that could have fully spanned the ancient continent of Pangaea, solidifying a new ruler's control over the countless factions and innumerable inhabitants was a job that would go on for decades if not centuries. At this early stage, Entropy found herself occupied night and day with everything from the tedious work of bureaucratic planning and entertaining diplomatic audiences to personally leading battles against opportunistic invaders and violent rebellions. Both of these jobs were crucial, as she could not take her eyes off the forming bureaucracy lest her control be quietly undermined by the devious conspiracies of her ministers, and she couldn't miss any chance to show her strength on the battlefield as that was necessary to maintain the respect and loyalty of her warriors.
Luckily, Entropy still found time every so often to get away from it all. Or, at least, she made the time whether it was there or not. This, of course, was also a necessity. In her situation, she could absolutely not afford a burnout. Luckily, she had been able to talk Isala into being her Prime Minister, at least until she could get a strong enough hold on things. In exchange, the succubus was going to have to eventually drive Wrathmont's loyalists out of Iceria so that Isala's rule could be restored there, but that was a price Entropy was easily willing to pay to have someone she could trust watching her back.
As it just so happened, today was a day Entropy had decided to take off. And Deep Forest was where she had decided to take off to. This was the destination she had grown to favor, and the teleportation glyph she had taken off of Wrathmont's personal assassin all those years ago served her well in getting to and from this place as quickly as she pleased. Usually she would just spend the day visiting some of her old friends if she could find them, though she still had a strange tendency to show up at just the right time to get embroiled in some epic quest or another every once in a while. Today looked like it was going to turn out fairly normal, though.
It hadn't taken Entropy long to find Nei. The girl was where she usually was, in the riverside cabin where she had always lived. As they strolled through the paths of the Forest, chatting and reflecting on old times, Entropy couldn't help but muse that Nei was finally the age she looked, though neither of them had actually appeared to put on a single day over the twenty years they had known each other. Entropy was a demon, so she wasn't going to age any more than she already had, but she still wondered if Nei was ever going to start to look older.
As the two passed by another group, they both recognized its members. But just as they stopped, Naira fell out of the tree. Entropy started to rush forward to check on her, but slowed back down to a normal pace upon realizing that Nakéminae was laughing, and that Nei didn't seem very alarmed either. Of course, there was really no threat to Naira's life here, even if the graveling was dropping itself right down on her stomach. So instead, the succubus just gave a general wave to everyone in the area.
"Hey," she greeted them all. "Nice gathering here."
Then, looking at Thoee, Deen, and the child Honalee, she gave an amiable grin.
"I think it's been a while since I've seen you two," she said to the Nism pair. "Been doing well, I hope?"
This was a rather informal greeting compared to the usual droll she had to recite at every meeting with officials or envoys. And that was why she enjoyed it so much. There was only so much stiff formality she could dish out before it started to wear on her.
Nei, meanwhile, having always been a bit on the quiet side, had hung back a bit , contenting herself with a wave that accompanied Entropy's greeting.

Going Boom...
... "So very right, My Love."
Thoee managed to control her giggles, enough to express her support. Not that she was absolutely sure, but... as her affectionate mate had made clear, she, too, could not imagine being forgotten, even after all this time. And since one of the biosignatures... and, hmmm, maybe a second... had a familiar taste, well, it stood to reason more than one or two biosignatures would match the patterns from twenty years ago...
... yes... yes, many biosignatures in range, familiar and not familiar. But this particular One, far closer now than all the others...?
As for Honalee...?
Well, she's not only bright, chipper and excited... far from sorrow or anger... other than leaf-litter bits in her fur, she's also not in the least injured by her tumble. Like her parents, she is much tougher and stronger than she looks, despite being little more than a year old. Oh... and, despite being so young, she is also very smart. Learning, exploring, growing... a living sponge, if you will. And, like all Nism offspring, life was her teacher, the universe her school and her playground, with her parents' help and guidence.
Wellll... yes, they weren't with her right now, but she was neither in danger nor lost, no matter where she went or what she did. And her parents were always ready to rush to her side, if need arose, despite their apparent laxness.
However.........
Honalee didn't mind. She loved her parents as much as they loved her, and did not in any way consider herself neglected or ignored. She knew what buttons to press and what buttons her little pawhands shouldn't touch... not that she wasn't a typical child, with an energy and curiousity that made her sometimes stare long and hard... perhaps touch, but not press the buttons she shouldn't, though little things could happen unintended. She knew when and where to be polite, and when and where she could let herself loose, so long as she was careful not to hurt anyone by accident. One of the things she'd found so amazing, that many beings were so... fragile. Bones so easy to snap, skin that peeled off if you got too roughhouse in play. Yes, she'd learned very early in her life, to be VERY careful! And respectful of her Elders....
However.........
Gnaw-key had introduced herself and this Tare-y... person. The one with the quills. Honalee thought those quills were neat! And... and... oh, yes!... they wanted to play tag! Energy bubbled out of her...
... "Yes yes yes! I's a'like tagger's game... I's a'playerses really really goodies!" A swift, twitchy look around, her tiny voice rapidfire... "O-zee-kay, who's a... *"
......... *SPLOOOSH!*.........
Yes, poor Honalee heard the yell, but... unfortunately... she didn't move at all. She did, however, squeak in surprise when she suddenly found herself doused in warm water, from head to toe. Pretty much only her tail's tuft stayed dry....
Or... perhaps not so poor Honalee!
Surprised by her sudden dousing, yes! But... oh... oh... now she was IT! Squeak turned to squeal of delight, however...
... well, the former IT had knocked herself out by falling down on her head. Squeal turned to a look of extreme curiousity, aimed at the unconscious "player"... who's head had come to rest not more than a foot from Honalee's left hip. With this complication "in play", the very young Nism child didn't know quite what to do...
... "Is'a nots proper-all wayser to playsie the gamers, Shay-Dee!"
Honalee had swiftly moved from butt to feet... stood at the spot where the top of undead head pointed, leaned over the attached face, furry chest against hairy head, and placed a tiny, wet pawhand on each bare cheek. She'd been so surprised... had moved so quick to look, she hadn't taken time to shake off the water, so...
... she dripped. Right on to Ashowan's face. Just as Terry forced out Ashowan's stale air...
... "Taggers! You's is a'IT, agains! An's you's a'needs a breathy minter...."
Meanwhile, back with her parents.........
Apparently, the One biosignature was not the only close one... two more familar patterns approached the scene. Thoee and Deen had been distracted by Ashowan's fall... Deen, still hugging Thoee close, before they both turned their attentions to the new arrivals, and the words Entropy spoke...
... "Oh, very, very well!"
Deen's response had come with the same, old, "traditional" grin he'd most likely become famous for. Or infamous, depending on viewpoint. A grin aimed at both females. Thoee, of course, had her own viewpoint. Actually, a complete turnaround of question...
... "Lady Entropy, I do hope you have also been doing well... the years haven't changed you on the outside, but I would hope the inside has grown stronger and more settled...."
A polite and gracious nod to Nei for her wave, a return of silent acknowledgement, in respect towards the Newman's chosen silence and gesture.........
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thoee managed to control her giggles, enough to express her support.
For lack of a better term hitherto, Naira was completely out cold. The half-dragon had bumped her head something fierce upon striking the earth and was suffering something of a concussive injury that would last for maybe a few seconds until the bump on top of her scalp soothed a little. After all ... immortality + head damage = non-fatal but painful indeed. It didn't help that Terry thought her chest to be a trampoline. He was pumping air out of her lungs faster than she could inhale, resulting in some troubling breathing issues.
Luckily, Nakéminae was nearby and removed the maniacal graveling from his plaything. The struggling pile of quills relaxed in her grip, seeming to purr while she stroked the top of his head with soft feather-touch fingers. Unlike Naira, with whom he had a competition with since the day they met, Naké was incredible at calming the most insane souls. Terry melted like butter, content and cat-like.
"He's always like this, and Shadi'll come to in a bit, I know she will," the ever-chipper Ethernian girl told the others in case they were worried. Entropy was for a second, though she appeared to realize that the danger was minimal at best. Beaming at the Succubus and her friend, Sol told them, "Nei! Entropy! I missed you."
Nemo, in the meantime ... Capable of breathing now that her sister took care of the chest compression issue, blurred eyes opened and winced at the coming light. She didn't even realize somebody was touching her cheeks until noticing the figure looming close. It was young. A fuzzy. And cute. There was a brief second in passing where Naira stiffened out of instinctual reflex reactions, but it lasted for only a few seconds. This version of Naira was no longer hissy when it came to being touched. She had relented some, cooled off more ... but certain pokes and prods would result in immediate punches to the face, or kickings in the gut. It all depending on who it was and what they were doing. Hugs, for example, were fine. Sneak up on her and hug her, though, and you might get mistaken for an enemy and thrown a dozen feet away into a tree.
"It ... " It was a statement, though a fuzzy one. Confusion. "What's ... it?" Everything as spinning. Then Nakéminae leaned down and whispered something into her ear - Terry restrained tried to swipe at the undead woman's face - and Naira's eyes flickered. "Oh ... it ... " And she poked Honalee in the nose. " ... You're it ... "
And back to unconsciousness she went. The frilly, pirate-like sash frilled a bit by the movement.

"Lady Entropy, I do hope you have also been doing well... the years haven't changed you on the outside, but I would hope the inside has grown stronger and more settled...."
Entropy's response started with a relaxed smile and a slight nod.
"Yeah..." she sighed contentedly. "At least, things are going a lot better for me now. It's still a tough business I'm in, but these days it's all stuff I know I can handle."
"Nei! Entropy! I missed you."
Entropy sent a wide grin Nakéminae's way.
"Nake," the succubus acknowledged, while Nei gave her a nod and another smile. "Missed you too. I need to start visiting more often, don't I?"
Then she chuckled slightly.
"If Isala would let me," she added.
Entropy then proceeded to become confused by Naira and Honalee's behavior.
"It?" she wondered aloud, then looked back at the newman. "Hey, Nei? What's 'it?'"
"'It?'" Nei repeated. "That's the person in tag that chases everyone else. If the person who is 'it' tags you, then you're 'it' after that."
"So... it's like a kind of evasion training, then?" Entropy asked. "That might be... kind of a useful thing to look into."
And with that, she looked at Honalee with more interest, waiting to see how she would proceed now that she was "it." If the succubus could learn this game, she might be able to introduce it to her own people as a way to trick her warriors into spending more time training.

Nosey Poker...
Little Honalee wiggled and licked at her nose, a bit disappointed that this fallen lady hadn't stayed awake to play the game. However, she had tagged her IT again! So...
... I's a'comin' afters all'a you's...!
So, with a pat to Naira's cheeks, Honalee hoped away, shook herself as dry as possible, then, now on all fours, she hunched her foreparts down, lifted her little butt in the air with a wave of tail and tuft, and got ready to pounce!
While that little drama ensued.........
Deen, casual to a fault, inserted himself into the conversation...
... "It's also fun." This, to Entropy, his grin accompanied by a tweak of ears and sweep of tail... "Useful for keeping bloodflow going, if nothing else." Then he stepped close, cupped hand to muzzle, and whispered in Entropy's ear...
... "Honalee's got sharp claws, so watch out!" His shroudruff moved, and made a soft chuff of sound against his back, while his words held a fatherly pride.
With that warning given, Honalee finished her prepatory wiggle and started chasing Nake'minae, while her mother turned her attentions to Nei...
... "How has Deep Forest fared for you, these last twenty years?"
Yes, Thoee wanted some friendly gossip to pass the time, while Honalee played. Not as literal a poked nose as her daughter had exchanged in this pleasant situation, but a nose poked in, just the same.........

Naira felt her face being patted, though only a little. She offered nothing more than a grunt and something that was whispered under her breath. Other than that ... Maybe a twitch, and that was all. The halfling rolled onto her side, curled up into a fetal position, and switched from unconsciousness to sleep. By this time Terry had left the side of Nakeminae and began to run this way and that, eager to stay out of the line of tag-fire. He didn't wanna get caught, no sire-ee. But if he did ... Well, the guy could teleport. It wouldn't be that difficult to nail another victim.
Nakeminae burst away from the running Nism kit. Laughing loud and clear, she threw her head back and shining silvery-blue locks flung this way and that in the wind. "Can't catch me!" called the Ethernian Reaver to the child, all while sprinting circles about her fallen sister. The wind from their chase roused Naira from her stupor. The halfling sat up, rubbing her eyes.
"Huh, what now?" She didn't recognize the situation at hand and blinked on in confusion before recalling something about being 'it' ... and noticing she was dead-center of a 'Duck Duck Goose' thing, Cue the sweatdrop rolling down the side of her head. "Alright, turns out I just woke up at a very, very bad time ... Does this mean I'm a prime target for getting tagged?" Raising her hand, the halfling added, "I call no tag-backs!"
Nakeminae was joyful, and having heard her sister's statement called back, "Don't be a scaredy cat, Nay!"
Nemo made a face. "I'm not, but ... " Way to trail off. Her eyes, one blind and one seeing, meandered towards Thoee and Deen ... and they widened. Considerably so. "You two, holy ... " Talons clacked to life and Naira was soon on her feet. "When did you two get here? You'd been gone so long and ... Hey, Nei, En!" A joyful little wave. Her grin stretched from ear to ear. Certainly, this version of Naira was happier than her previous form twenty years in the past.

Sharp claws. Entropy was left wondering why Deen had whispered that into her ear, but she wasn't one to really dwell too much on it. Odd custom, maybe.
"I'll... uh... be careful," she replied, continuing to watch the game.
So, now that Honalee was "it," she was chasing Nake around Naira. Entropy would have liked to run around Naira too, but as an observer, she had to maintain her neutrality.
Nei, meanwhile, was being addressed by Thoee.
"It's been nice," she said. "Nicest when there's nothing going on, of course. Saving the world has its upsides, but I like a nice quiet day now and then."
Of course, she'd had a lot more of an appreciation for how nice a quiet day could be since she had gotten rid of that Creature that had tried to take over her mind. That creature had only been in her head for a short time, but she was going to remember it for quite a long time to come. Some people may have been left scarred and traumatized by that sort of thing, but Nei couldn't waste her whole life feeling that way.
Just then, Naira came to as well, and called a greeting to everyone present.
"Nay!" Entropy squeaked, happy to see the half-dragon up and about now.
"Good morning," Nei teased.

Not So Quiet Day...
Why had Deen whispered into her ear? Well, because it was there! That, and he didn't want his daughter to hear. As Honalee's father, Deen had experienced first-hand the sting of her little claws against his back, in the warm, dark space under his shroudruff. Had she heard, Honalee may very well have turned her attentions from Nake' to him... and he'd be running for his life. No, not literally, but, well, hopefully understandable. After all, his shroudruff's feathers did cover a very sensative area, and Honalee could very well dive underneath, to give her "dadda" a very uncomfortable noogie, as she tagged him IT. So, yes, he whispered!
And the pride? Well, why not!? Honalee may have been a handful, but she was his and Thoee's first, gave them both great joy, and... she made life interesting, to say the least. Every day, she brought along her very own, unique perspective, and shared it with everyone and everything. Deen couldn't help but feel the pride swell in his chest....
And Thoee?
She'd had the privilage to carry Honalee during her gestation, to feel the life of her young one in a personal way Deen never could. She felt not only proud, but blessed. At this moment, listening to Nei's reply, her hands dropped, to stroke her belly in thought, small warm smile on her face. Part of that smile, due to her biosense reading only one pattern within Nei, rather than two. And the other part? Due to something else....
Then Ashowan... Naira... woke up, and gave greeting. Thoee had just opened her mouth, to dig deeper into Nei's unspoken details, when she heard and saw the gladness from one who in past times hadn't shared such emotion willingly. Deen had finished nodding his head to Entropy's reply, then turned to wave hands and tail towards an old friend, big grin lit on his face. Thoee's small smile grew large and warm, her nod towards Nei a wordless "Excuse me..." as she also turned, paced her way gracefully to Naira, as the Elder Reaver stood, and held out her hands in return greeting...
... "We arrived only a short while ago. Good to see you...."
Thoee hesitated, as Naira greeted "Nei" and "En".........
However.........
Honalee didn't hesitate in her chase after Nake'. Even though she now chased the Reaver child around both Naira and her own mother...
... "Scary kitty! Scary kitty! You's is'a scary kitty, and I's a'gonna eat you!"
Of course, Honalee's threat didn't carry much weight, given it was followed by a happy sqeal and giggle, as she threw her little body around with pure abandon. Any watchers would most likely be amazed that this little Nism child managed not to trip on her own feet, or run headlong into a tree, given the way she skittered about. The way she kicked up leaf-litter...
... ahhh, but that amazement didn't last long!
Distracted by the swish of her mother's tail, little Honalee did indeed slip up and slide out. Took a tumble, to be precise. Not that she was hurt, ohhh, no! A wild flail of limbs, a very delighted squeal of excitement, then she pounced on her mother's tuft, and started to nibble. Thoee?
Well, she finished her return greeting with Naira, then lifted her tail up, child attached, and dangled her daughter for a moment in view, slight roll of eyes evident in her patient, motherly expression...
... "This is Honalee..."
Deen had not stood idle, after Naira's waking had resulted in a roundabout exchange of greetings. And after Honalee's distraction had resulted in her little "incident." Ahhh, yes... time to be a father and a mate. So, as daughter dangled, father paced up, cupped daughter in one hand and tickled her tummy with the other, then caught her in a hug as her laughter and giggles loosed teeth from her mother's tail-tuft. With father and daughter now near and secure, Thoee continued...
... "... our daughter. My Love, you already know."
Deen grinned, as Honalee chewed on his fingers, game for the moment forgotten...
... "Seems odd, doesn't it? Like yesterday, but not, if you know what I mean...."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Yeah, but still I'd prefer the now more than the 'then'." This was accompanied by a grin. So much time had passed ... Yes, the Reaver did notice that her social awkwardness had gone down the drain. But back in the day her mind had been troubled each and every day by a new problem, and with the novelty stress that was finding her sister and keeping her alive ... protect her from being ravaged by the menace known as Kuro ... But those times, they'd gone and went. Night returned to day. The sun ... was finally shining after a long and painful struggle.
To Naira, they were out of the woods.
Or so she hoped.
Honalee was introduced. Nemo dropped to her knees and waved five fingers towards the baby Nism. "Hiya Honalee, I'm Nay." And there was a smile. Bright and wide, lit with sharp canines ... the canines being every single tooth. Had she been a wild beast the half-dragon would be a predator most-feared. But that wasn't the case.
Nakeminae saw the tumble. Knowing full-well no real injury was sustained, she stepped over to the ground and leaned against Naira's femur. In response, Nemo placed a hand atop the younger child's head and ruffled her hair, earning a giggle. "This," said she with great pride, "is my sister."
"Nakeminae." And the ghost-girl was not shy, not bashful. Speaking to strangers came at a total ease of everything. And her eyes met their's without hesitation. "Thoee and Deen right? Kaya's told me a lot about you." Truth. Stories were spoken through the ages. Nake's wings did a little flutter. A slight sparkle erupted from their thicker regions.
And quite suddenly the Ethernian Reaver (for she shared some specific auras with Naira) turned and launched at Entropy ... for all-intense purposes ruining the succubus' neutrality with a glomp-hug that reached as high as her little form could go.
Terry ... was somewhere. Gone for the moment. A mist of brown vapor hung where he'd been.

"We all change, when you think about it, we're all different people; all through our lives, and that's okay, that's good, you've gotta keep moving, so long as you remember all the people that you used to be."
