@CrhisaHoa

Welcome to UV. :)

Yep, the festival thread is under special rules, so you are welcome to bring in your character despite her not being accepted at the edge yet. The festival is also "non-timeline", so once you're accepted at the edge you can join a "real" time line RP thread while still being in the festival thread.

You are welcome to the Festival!

I suggest you actively approach someone at the Festival though (this means reading up on the thread as much as you can so you know what's going on). If you make a post with your character just appearing at the outskirts of the festival and look around without talking to anyone it might be difficult for people to break away from their current activities to include you in roleplay.

Thanks Griatch ^_^ It might be a while before I join though, the way people post on this site (including me =P), combined with seventeen pages...

This is gonna take a while =P

So ... since its been a few months now ...
Should we just bring the thing t a close now? Honestly, it's holding the UV back - actons is practically dead in the Deep Forest and it's getting really bothersome. A lot of us are losing inspiration because of it, vanishing altogether.

I vote we bring the Festival to a close. Or at least give it one sharp kick in the rear.

Not quite dead yet!

erm...okay...umm...Anybody have a scroll of resurrection? A phoenix down? Erm...any spare flintweed seeds? Anyone?

And we said, "Nay. We are but men."

April.

But I think Windra's right about this. It's slowed down to the point where I don't think its going to get very much further.

I don't know much about what's been happening, but if this is the case, may I make a suggestion? Perhaps the Festival can become and annual event - in remembrance of Deep Forest's victory, or whatever brought up the idea for the Festival (Have to read up on that...) - every autumn (UV time), but it only runs for a few set months real time. If things are going quickly, extend the time it runs a bit, if it goes slowly or it's sucking the life from the main RP boards too much, shorten the time.

I'm still a newbie here, though, so feel free to tell me I've jumped off the deep end in the Seake of Insanity ^_^

The entire Deep Forest just sort of ... died in activity. D:
It's like watching something get slowly encased in a tomb of ice. Metabolism and motion slows down until the motor functions cease to exist.

No, it's not dead, especially since there are a bunch of things that need to happen in there still -- some more characters that should get well-deserved prizes, notably.

We had it all planned down for a quick thing, that's why there are time limitations to events and so on. Unfortunately summer hit and since then both Gaeva and me have been exceedingly busy. I just came back from China and I'm still not back in sync. :(

It must be finished properly though -- when it's over, season will change and winter will come to Deep forest.

PS: I'm working on a completely separate (and secret) programming project for UV by the way, time will tell if it bears fruit, but if it does (and Gaeva likes it) I think it might change the flow of roleplaying on here a lot. DS

The only question is: When will it be finished ... properly or not?

Patience Windra.

It's not like the festival is in any way stopping anyone from normal role playing.

Actually, it is.
A lot of people depend on the transition of time for their plots to move along. Having the Deep Forest stuck in one season for months upon months upon months is not only boring, tiring, but very hindering. It's holding a lot of us back.

A big number of us have stuff planned for Winter. D<

It's been almost nine months, Raph.
Isn't that long enough?

OK, I seem to have missed a previous announcement that the season will change after the festival.

The transition of time however, does not necessarily have to do anything with the Festival, since that takes place outside ordinary RPG time. It takes place at Hidden Visions Reflected for a reason. There are no technical objections against moving the plot to another season and still continue with the Festival. However, we will simply have to rely on the wisdom of others to either do that or not. :D

The only problem being, Raph, that some plots must occur within the winter time period. The Festival may be in the HVR, but the rest of the forest is in a standstill, season-wise, until it is over. A lot of us can't do jack until the transition into winter is made.

Frankly, I have no intention of waiting until I graduate college to see the Festival come to a close and things finally start to move.

Whereas I can understand that the admins and mods have other things to cope with ... c'mon, nine months? By the time I'm a legal 21 we'll have just moved out of the Festival. xD

You mean you don't remember any of the earlier plots we've had on here? Some of those ran for years ;)

... but that said, I too want time to pass, so I will move on and hand out a bunch of awards in the festival in the coming days -- a few people have them coming after all.

"Dim...why's that thread there moaning for brains?"

"Erm...I think it's turned into a zombie"

"WHAT!?!"

"It's a huge, lumbering hulk of mostly-completed plots, continuing to exist long past it's best before date, still hungering for more posts. I think zombie describes it very well!"

"Okay...for once your attempts at explenation actually made sense. Now, since you've done your talky talky, it's time for me to do my smitey smitey"

"Don't be stupid! You wouldn't stand a hope in hell against a monstrosity that size."

"Well then what?"

"Well, we could get Norad to nuke it. I'm pretty certain he's game for that"

"You think it'll work?"

"I don't know, Sarah...I just don't know..."

*TLDR version...SOMEBODY PLEASE REVIVE THAT TREAD!!!*

Once all people (Dejah) get up on the stage to receive their prizes, we'll finish the last ceremony.
